Managing the charging process of a large number of electric vehicles to decrease the pressure on the local electricity grid is of high interest to the utilities. Using efficient mathematical optimization techniques, the charging behavior of electric vehicles shall be optimally controlled taking into account network, vehicle, and customer requirements. We developed an efficient algorithm for calculating load shift potentials defined as the range of all charging curves meeting the customer’s requirements and respecting all individual charging and discharging constraints over time. In addition, we formulated a mixed integer linear program (MIP) applying semi-continuous variables to find cost-optimal load curves for every vehicle participating in a load shift. This problem can be solved by e.g. branch-and-bound algorithms. Results of two scenarios of Germany in 2015 and 2030 based on mobility studies show that the load shifting potential of EV is significant and contribute to a necessary relaxation of the future grid. The maximum charging and discharging power and the average battery capacity are crucial to the overall load shift potential.

AIM: To contrast the effects of various modifications of body fluid volumes on thirst as reported by healthy volunteers. METHODs: Ten male volunteers aged between 19 and 37 years(mean 22 years) underwent four experiments each, which comprised infusion of 400-800 m L of acetated Ringer's solution and intake of 600 m L of tap water. Half of the experiments were preceded by volume depletion(median 1.7 L) with furosemide. A visual analogue scale(0-100 mm) was used to assess perceived thirst during each experiment. REsULTs: Volume depletion(P st by 13 mm per L of fluid, whereas spontaneous diuresis and infusion of Ringer's acetate did not significantly change the thirst rating(multiple regressions). More detailed analyses showed that the volume depletion increased the median(25th-75th percentiles) thirst rating from 28 mm(21-43) to 59 mm(46-72, P se who were only slightly thirsty(s solution alleviated thirst in those who were very thirsty, but tended to increase thirst in the volunteers who were not thirsty before the infusion. similarly, hydration with tap water decreased thirst(by 24 mm, P se who were thirsty(> 60 mm) while the others reported no change.

Advanced and specialized radiological diagnostic procedures are essential in cases of clinically diagnosed injuries to the head, thorax, abdomen or extremities of a child, especially if there is no case history or if the reporting of an inadequate trauma suggests battered child syndrome. In particular, these diagnostic procedures should aim at detecting lesions of the central nervous system (CNs), so that the treatment can be immediately initiated. If the diagnostic imaging reveals findings typically associated with child abuse, accurate documentation constituting evidence, which will stand up in court, is required to prevent any further endangerment of the child’s welfare.

AIM:To investigate feasibility of a quantitative study of prostate cancer using three dimensional(3D)fiber ***:In this institutional review board approved retrospective study,24 men with biopsy proven prostate cancer underwent prostate magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)with an endorectal coil on a 1.5 T MRI *** shot echo-planar diffusion weighted images were acquired with b = 0.600 s/mm^2,six gradient ***-source available software Track Vis and its Diffusion Toolkit were used to generate diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)map and 3D fiber *** 3D spherical regions of interest were drawn over the areas of tumor and healthy prostatic parenchyma to measure tract density,apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)and fractional anisotropy(FA),which were statistically ***:DTI tractography showed rich fiber tract anatomy with tract *** tumor region and normal parenchymal tract densities were 2.53 and 3.37 respectively(P s 0.0011 × 10^(-3 )mm^2/s vs 0.0014 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s in the normal parenchyma(P s for tumor and normal parenchyma were 0.2047 and 0.2259 respectively(P = 0.3819).CONCLUsION:DTI tractography of the prostate is feasible and depicts congregate fibers within the *** density may offer new biomarker to distinguish tumor from normal tissue.
