The importance of reducing ship resistance is growing considerably as a result of the increase in atmospheric emissions and the drive towards green shipping through *** this point,Energy saving Devices(EsD),in particular,Hull Vane®(HV),have been widely applied as a potential technique for reducing wave-making resistance for vessels with higher Froude Number(Fr).The advantages of HV for a medium-speed vessel,where the wave-making component accounts for almost 50%of total resistance,have yet to be *** study presents the computational analysis of the KCs model(1∶75.5);for a particular trim condition by using the VOF method and RANs *** hull acts as a candidate vessel for the class of medium-speed characteristics.A total of 36 numerical simulations were carried out to study the changes in resistance and motion characteristics of the vessel with and without *** validate the numerical setup,the experimental work of Hou et al(2020)on the DTMB hull was *** effectiveness of HV can be comprehended by the reduction percentage in total resistance,trim,sinkage,and transom wave height,in comparison to bare hull *** reduction in total resistance extends up to 6%for Fr=0.32 with configuration 2 with negative *** CFD results indicate that there is a reduction in trim up to 57%for the maximum speed with a corresponding Fr=0.34 with a positive angle of foil(AoF).The trim correction effect is increasing with the depth of submergence of *** sinkage,there occurs nearly a 31%reduction for Fr=0.34 with a positive *** exists a substantial reduction in the height of the transom wave with the inclusion of HV,the results of which are discussed in *** the presented results,retrofitting the Hull Vane®is effective in the selected speed range but pronouncing as the speed of the vessel increases.

Cloud computing is the highly demanded technology *** to the service oriented architecture,seamless accessibility and other advantages of this advent technology,many transaction rich applications are making use of *** the same time,it is vulnerable to hacks and *** securing this environment is of at most important and many research works are being reported focusing on *** paper proposes a safe storage mechanism using Elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)for the Transaction Rich Applications(TRA).With ECC based security scheme,the security level of the protected system will be increased and it is more suitable to secure the delivered data in the portable *** proposed scheme shields the aligning of different kind of data elements to each provider using an ECC ***,comparison and simulation prove that the proposed system is more effective and secure for the Transaction rich applications in Cloud.

Experimental investigation on concrete overlaid with textile reinforced mortar:Influences of mix,temperature,and chemical exposure

Textile reinforced mortar is widely used as an overlay for the repair,rehabilitation,and retrofitting of concrete ***,textile reinforced concrete has been identified as a suitable lining material for improving the durability of existing concrete *** this study,we developed a textile-reinforced mortar mix using river sand and evaluated the different characteristics of the textile-reinforced mortar under various exposure *** were carried out in two *** the first phase,the pullout strength,temperature resistance,water absorption,and compressive and bending strength values of three different textile-reinforced mortar mixes with a single type of textile reinforcement were *** the second phase,the chemical resistance of the mix that showed the best performance in the abovementioned tests was examined for use as an overlay for a concrete *** were performed on three different thicknesses of the textile reinforced mortar overlaid on concrete specimens that were subjected to acidic and alkaline *** flexural responses and degradations of the textile reinforced mortar overlaid specimens were examined by performing bending *** experimental findings indicated the feasibility of using textile reinforced mortar as an overlay for durable concrete construction practices.

stationary Analysis and Optimal Control Under Multiple Working Vacation Policy in a GI/Ma,b/1 Queue

This paper considers an infinite buffer renewal input queue with multiple working vacation policy wherein customers are served by a single server according to general bulk service （a,b）-rule （1 ≤ a ≤ b）. If the number of waiting customers in the system at a service completion epoch （during a normal busy period） is lower than ＇a＇, then the server starts a vacation. During a vacation if the number of waiting customers reaches the minimum threshold size ＇a＇, then the server starts serving this batch with a lower rate than that of the normal busy period. After completion of a batch service during working vacation, if the server finds less than takes another vacation, otherwise the server rate. The maximum allowed size of a batch a＇ customers accumulated in the system, then the server continues to serve the available batch with that lower in service is ＇b＇. The authors derive both queue-length and system-length distributions at pre-arrival epoch using both embedded Markov chain approach and the roots method. The arbitrary epoch probabilities are obtained using the classical argument based on renewal theory. several performance measures like average queue and system-length, mean waiting-time, cost and profit optimization are studied and numerically computed.

A new design of 3D-printed orthopedic bone plates with auxeticstructures to mitigate stress shielding and improve intra-operative bending

Orthopedic bone plates are most commonly used for bone fracture fixation for more than 100 *** bone plate design had evolved over time overcoming many challenges such as insufficient strength and excessive plate–bone contact affecting the blood ***,it is only made of two materials,either stainless steel(AIsI 316L)or titanium(Ti–6Al–4V).There are two main limitations of metallic bone implants,namely stress shielding and the problem of malocclusion caused by the displacement of the fracture site during *** overcome the two problems,a new bone plate design with the incorporation of auxetic structures is proposed in this *** study aims to use auxetic structure section in the bone plate that would decrease the stiffness of the region,thereby mitigating the stress-shielding effect and at the same time act as a deformable section to enable intra-operative bending for effective alignment while having enough bending strength and *** different auxetic structures namely re-entrant honeycomb and missing rib structures were *** auxetic structure incorporated bone plates were designed,finite element analysis was done,fabricated using direct metal laser sintering technique,and *** results indicate that the re-entrant honeycomb structure incorporated bone plates serve as an effective bone design compared to the conventional bone plate design,in terms of stress shielding and intra-operative bending while offering similar mechanical and bending strength.

Production, purification, characterization, immobilization, and application of serrapeptase： a review

BACKGROUND： serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme with many favorable biological properties like anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-bacterial, fibrinolytic properties and hence, is widely used in clinical practice for the treatment of many diseases. Although serrapeptase is widely used, there are very few published papers and the information available about the enzyme is very meagre. Hence this review article compiles all the information about this important enzyme serrapeptase. METHODs： A literature search against various databases and search engines like PubMed, springerLink, scopus etc. was performed. REsULTs： We gathered and highlight all the published information regarding the molecular aspects, properties, sources, production, purification, detection, optimizing yield, immobilization, clinical studies, pharmacology, interaction studies, formulation, dosage and safety of the enzyme serrapeptase. CONCLUsION： serrapeptase is used in many clinical studies against various diseases for its anti-inflammatory, fibrinolytic and analgesic effects. There is insufficient data regarding the safety of the enzyme as a health supplement. Data about the anti- atherosclerotic activity, safety, tolerability, efficacy and mechanism of action of the serrapeptase are still required.

Geospatial approach to elucidate anomalies in the hierarchical organization of drainage network in Kuttiyadi River Basin, southern India

An assessment of anomalies in the hierarchical organization of the drainage network in the Kuttiyadi River Basin(KuRB),Kerala,has been performed by considering various morphometric parameters such as bifurcation index(R),hierarchical anomaly index(Δa),hierarchical anomaly density(ga),and stream gradient index(sL)in a geographical information system(GIs)***,a digital elevation model(DEM)of the area has been generated from Cartosat stereo pair data at 2.5-m *** computed quantitative information about drainage characteristics reveals the highest drainage anomaly is observed in sub-watersheds(sW)III and *** is observed that neo-tectonic activity caused the development of younger stage drainage patterns of structural controls in the sub-watersheds of this river *** tectonic activityinduced diffusion,high energy fluvial erosion,and anthropogenic interferences altered the hierarchical organization of the drainage network of the sub-watersheds in mature to old stages of geomorphic *** results of finding validated with asymmetry factor and ratio of the hierarchical index(Δa)with hierarchical anomaly number(A),bifurcation index(R),direct bifurcation ratio(Rdb),stream gradient index(sL),and denudation index(logTu).From the denudation index analysis,the sediment yield of the river basin is identified as 0.67 t·km^(−2)·yr^(−1).Moreover,the asymmetric factor(AF)in the KuRB shows the imprints of Paleo−Neo Proterozoic crustal tilting toward a NNW−ssE direction.

Hydro-hypsometric analysis of tropical river basins,southwest Coast of India using geospatial technology

The key aspect in planning and management of water resources is to analyze the runoff potential and erosion status of the river *** the detailed investigation of hydrological response freely available Cartosat-1(IRs-P5) data was used for the preparation of digital elevation model(DEM).The runoff potential and type of erosive process of 22 river basins originating in the global biodiversity hotspot of Western Ghats,was inferred through hypsometric *** parameters like Hypsometric integral(HI),maximum concavity(Eh),coordinates of slope inflection point(I) given by a* and h* and normalized height of hypsometric curve(h) were extracted from the hypsometric curves and used for understanding the hydrological *** the hypsometric curves,the landform evolution processes were *** of diffusive and fluvial processes in slope degradation of the river basins was *** with lesser area(sitive correlation between hypsometric integral and basin area,whereas for large basins no such correlation *** on the study,river basins can be prioritized for the appropriate conservation measures.

An interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller for TCsC to improve the damping of power system oscillations

In this paper an interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller （IT2FLC） was proposed for thyristor controlled series capacitor （TCsC） to improve power system damping. For controller design, memberships of system variables were represented using interval type-2 fuzzy sets. The three-dimensional membership function of type-2 fuzzy sets provided additional degree of freedom that made it possible to directly model and handle uncertainties. simulations conducted on a single machine infinite bus （sMIB） power system showed that the proposed controller was more effective than particle swarm optimization （PsO） tuned and type-1 fuzzy logic （T1FL） based damping controllers. Robust performance of the proposed controller was also validated at different operating conditions, various disturbances and parameter variation of the transmission line parameters.
