Characterization of MCrAlY/nano-Al_(2)O_(3) nanocomposite powder produced by high-energy mechanical milling as feedstock for high-velocity oxygen fuel spraying deposition

Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles and MCrAlY/nano-Al_(2)O_(3) nanocomposite powder(M=Ni,Co,or NiCo)were produced using high-energy ball *** MCrAlY/nano-Al_(2)O_(3) coating was deposited by selecting an optimum nanocomposite powder as feedstock for high-velocity oxy-gen fuel thermal *** morphological and microstructural examinations of the Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles and the commercial MCrAlY and MCrAlY/nano-Al_(2)O_(3) nanocomposite powders were investigated using X-ray diffraction analysis,field-emission scanning electron microscopy coupled with electron dispersed spectroscopy,and transmission electron *** structural investigations and Williamson-Hall res-ults demonstrated that the ball-milled Al_(2)O_(3) powder after 48 h has the smallest crystallite size and the highest amount of lattice strain among the as-received and ball-milled Al_(2)O_(3) owing to its optimal nanocrystalline *** the case of developing MCrAlY/nano-Al_(2)O_(3) nanocompos-ite powder,the particle size of the nanocomposite powders decreased with increasing mechanical-milling duration of the powder mixture.

Ionic Conductivity in Gelatin-Based Hybrid solid Electrolytes:The Non-trivial Role of Nanoclay

In this study, the ionic conductivity behavior in hybrid gelatin-based transparent electrolytes including various types of nanoclays with different size, shape and surface properties was characterized. The effects of nanoclay type and nanoclay concentration as well as different experimental conditions, e.g., pH, temperature and crosslinking were also investigated. In general, the impedance spectroscopy results suggested a non- trivial role for nanoclay. Regardless of the nanoclay type, the ionic conductivity slightly increased first and then decreased by increasing the nanoclay concentration. Furthermore, among sodium montmorillonite （Na＋MMT）, lithium montmorillonite （Li＋MMT）, laponite and hydrotalcite, the hybrid electrolytes prepared by Li＋MMT showed higher ionic conductivity. The results also showed that the chemical crosslinking along with sample preparation at optimum pH, where the gelatin chains might be efficiently adsorbed on exfoliated, negatively charged clay nanosheets, plays an important role. In comparison with the ionic conductivity of the neat sample at room temperature （～10-7 s cm-1）, a ten-fold increase was observed for the crosslinked sample containing 2 wt% of Li^＋MMT prepared at optimum pH 3.5. The conductivity behavior as a function of temperature revealed the obedience with the VogeI-Fulcher-Tammann （VFT） model for all samples, suggesting the important role of segmental motions in the ionic conductivity. Finally, a qualitative explanation was presented for the mechanism of the ionic conduction in gelatin-nanoclay hybrid electrolytes.

Effect of Urbanization on Child safety

Background: The world’s population living in urban areas has grown up from 14% to over 50%. This study was designed aiming to compare injuries related mortality and morbidity in Urban vs Rural settings among children in Iran. Methods: Data were gathered from a household survey. A t-test was used to analyze the relationship between outcomes. Achievements: Injury in all ages accounts for 17% of all deaths in Iran. 20% of death in children is due to injuries. Children in urban settings sustain injuries due to traffic accident, airway blockage and fall from height more than rural children. About 63.5% of morbidity related to injuries occurs in private homes or in residential areas e.g. yards and compounds. In these injuries, no significant statistically difference was found between rural vs. urban setting (p ≤ 0.05). Conclusion: Beside area level measures as an index for considering urbanization, other elements including quality of roads, distances from markets and so on should be considered as well. safety for children is an important element to be provided prior to planning cities by urban developers. Expansion of the International safe Community program is a potential solution.

背景：高达8%的育龄妇女受经前期烦躁障碍（PMDD）所困。DsM-IV-TR把失眠或嗜睡等睡眠紊乱作为PMDD的诊断标准之一。大约70%的PMDD患者存在睡眠紊乱。然而，专注解决PMDD对睡眠质量影响的有关研究却非常缺乏。目标：本研究旨在评估女大学生中PMDD的患病率及其对睡眠质量的影响。方法：我们根据精神障碍诊断与统计手册第四版修订版(DsM-IV-TR)开发了PMDD量表（18项）。对月经周期规律、年龄在18~30岁的女大学生，用上述量表诊断PMDD。把研究对象分为PMDD组或非PMDD组，比较两组的睡眠质量。用匹兹堡睡眠质量指数（PsQI）评估睡眠质量。结果：女大学生PMDD的患病率为25.5%。PsQI分析表明PMDD组中80.5%的女大学生PsQI得分＞5，而非 PMDD组中相应的比例只有56.4%（χ2=12.459, psQI平均分（标准差）为8.2(3.4)而非PMDD组为6.5(3.1)（t=3.648,p<0.001）。结论：患有PMDD的女大学生睡眠问题严重。睡眠质量差、日间功能障碍以及睡眠紊乱是患PMDD的女大学生中常见的睡眠问题。

Malignant pheochromocytoma in neurofibromatosis; mutation screening of RET proto-oncogene, VHL and sDH gene

AIM: To investigate pathogenic mutations related to malignant pheochromocytoma in neurofibromatosis(NF).METHODs: We present a patient with NF and metastatic pheochromocytoma in whom genetic screening for presence of pathogenic mutations in RET protooncogene, von Hippel-Lindau(VHL) and succinate dehydrogenase complex subunits B(sDHB) genes were investigated. RET proto-oncogene mutation screening for exons 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 were examined by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and direct DNA sequencing in patient. Mutation screening for exons 1, 2, 3 of VHL gene was carried out. Both forward and reverse strandswere subjected to direct sequencing after PCR amplification. The entire coding sequence of sDHB gene was screened for the presence of pathogenic mutations by ***: A 45-year-old man presented with abdominal pain and hypertension over the previous year. The patient was a known case of neurofibromatosis type 1(NF1) who presented at the age of 15 years with hyperpigmented and hypopigmented lesions. After complete evaluation for hypertension, biochemical tests and imagings indicated a malignant pheochromocytoma of 120 mm × 70 mm in size. The patient underwent left adrenalectomy, nephrectomy and splenectomy. After surgery the symptoms improved and blood pressure was controlled. After 5 years he was admitted again for evaluation of hypertensive crisis. Biochemical tests were again consistent with pheochromocytoma and disease relapse. Imaging studies and liver biopsy confirmed metastatic pheochromocytoma to the liver and para-aortic area. 131 Iodine-metaiodobenzylguanidine therapy was carried out. Genetic screening of VHL(exons 1, 2, 3), RET proto-oncogene(exons 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16) and sDH complex subunits revealed no pathogenic mutation. CONCLUsION: We conclude that mutations in the NF1 gene are responsible for the patient's clinical findings.
