Background:Children and adolescents can be distinguished by different typologies(clusters) of physical activity and sedentary *** physical activity and sedentary behaviors change over time within different typologies is not *** study examined longitudinal changes in physical activity and sedentary time among children and adolescents with different baseline typologies of activity-related ***:In this longitudinal study(3 annual time points) of children(n=600,age=9.2±0.4 years(mean±sD),50.3% girls) and adolescents(n=1037,age=13.6±1.7 years,48.4% girls),participants were recruited in spain in *** class analyses identified typologies based on self-reported screen,educational,social and relaxing sedentary behaviors,active travel,muscle strengthening activity,and sport at *** each typology,linear mixed growth models explored longitudinal changes in accelerometer-derived moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and sedentary time,as well as time by class ***:Three typologies were identified among children( "social screenies",12.8%;"exercisers",61.5%;and "non-sporty active commuters",25.7%) and among adolescents "active screenies",43.5%;"active academics",35.0%;and "non-sporty active commuters",21.5%) at *** time increased within each typology among children and adolescents,with no significant differences between *** changes in physical activity were found in any typology among *** adolescents,physical activity declined within all typologies,with "non-sporty active commuters" declining significantly more than "active screenies" over 3 ***:These results support the need for interveation to promote physical activity and prevent increases in sedentary time during childhood and *** characterized as "non-sporty active commuters" may require specific interventions to maintain their physical activity over time.

Citrus is mainly oriented to fresh consumption,and harvesting is usually performed ***,the high cost of harvesting and the low availability of labour can compromise the profitability of the crop when it is destined to juice *** development of citrus mechanical harvesting for industrial processing is conditioned to reach a high fruit removal efficiency,with a reduced damage to both fruit and *** current machines available are very large,requiring extensive plantations with long rows of trees to be *** this study,two lateral canopy shakers equipped with a catch frame were evaluated to harvest independently both sides of the hedge on intensive citrus plantations with the main objective of determining their performance and *** lateral canopy shakers tested were three tractor-drawn machines,one commercial machine and two *** tested machines reached a mean value of 78%of fruit ***,the prototypes,equipped with a catch frame,were able to recover a mean value of 70%of *** the results were promising,for achieving an efficient result,the application of this harvesting technology still requires a process of improvement,and the adaptation of both the machine and the *** machines should reduce the amount of post-harvest ground fruit(5.9%-10.4%).Tree damages generated by the contact of the catch frame with the trunk and the metal rods with main branches were the most ***,it is still necessary to increase the ground speed of the machinery and improving the design of the rods,regulating the rod penetrating deep in the canopy to improve the fruit recovery and limit the damage caused to the trees.

Lupus enteritis as the only active manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus: A case report

BACKGROUND Lupus enteritis is a rare manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (sLE). Diagnosis of this condition is difficult, especially in the absence of other symptoms related to active sLE. We present the case of a 25-year-old female with lupus enteritis as the sole initial manifestation of active sLE. CAsE sUMMARY A 25-year-old African American female presented to the Emergency Department complaining of diffuse abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting for 2 days. Her past medical history was significant for seasonal allergies and family history was pertinent for discoid lupus in her father and sLE in a cousin. The patient’s vital signs on presentation were normal. Her physical exam was remarkable for significant lower abdominal tenderness without guarding or rigidity. A computed tomography of the abdomen and pelvis revealed marked circumferential wall thickening and edema of the proximal and mid small bowel predominantly involving the submucosa. Our main differential diagnoses were intestinal angioedema and mesenteric vein thrombosis. However, mesenteric vessels were patent, and laboratory testing for hereditary angioedema showed a normal C1 Esterase Inhibitor level and low C3 and C4 levels. Infectious work-up was negative. Autoimmune tests showed elevated anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA)(13.6), anti-smith antibody, and anti-ribonucleoprotein (anti-RNP) antibody. The patient was diagnosed with sLE enteritis. she was maintained on bowel rest, given intravenous hydration, and started on methylprednisolone 60 mg IV daily. she had significant improvement in her abdominal pain, diarrhea, and emesis after 2 days of treatment. steroids were tapered and maintained on Hydroxychloroquine with no relapses one year after *** This case of lupus enteritis represents a rare manifestation of sLE. Diagnosis requires clinical suspicion, characteristic imaging and laboratory tests. Endoscopic appearance and biopsies usually yield non-specific findings.

The fungus-growing ants （Tribe Attini） are a New World group of〉 200 species, all obligate symbionts with a fungus they use for food. Four attine taxa are known to be social parasites of other attines. Acromyrmex （ Pseudoatta） argentina argentina and Acromyrmex （Pseudoatta） argentina platensis （parasites of Acromyrmex lundi）, and Acromyrmex sp. （a parasite of Acromyrmex rugosus） produce no worker caste. In contrast, the recently discovered Acromyrmex insinuator （a parasite of Acromyrmex echinatior） does produce workers. Here, we describe a new species, Acromyrmex ameliae, a social parasite of Acromyrmex subterraneus subterraneus and Acromyrmex subterraneus brunneus in Minas Gerais, Brasil. Like A. insinuator, it produces workers and appears to be closely related to its hosts. similar social parasites may be fairly common in the fungus-growing ants, but overlooked due to the close resemblance between parasite and host workers.

Aims Alien species are commonly considered as harmful weeds capa-ble of decreasing native biodiversity and threatening *** this assumption,little is known about the long-term patterns of the native-alien relationships associated with human disturbed managed *** study aims to elucidate the commu-nity dynamics associated with a successional gradient in chilean Mediterranean grasslands,considering both native and alien *** species richness(natives and aliens separately)and life-form(annu-als and perennials)were recorded in four chilean post-agricultural grazed grasslands each covering a broad successional gradient(from 1 to 40 years since crop abandonment).A detrended correspondence analysis(DcA),mixed model effects analyses and cor-relation tests were conducted to assess how this temporal gradient influenced natives and aliens through community *** Findings Our results show different life-form patterns between natives and aliens over *** were mainly represented by annuals(especially ruderals and weeds),which were established at the beginning of *** aliens also predominated at mid-successional stages,but in old grasslands native species were slightly more representative than alien ones within the *** the late successional states,positive or no correlations at all between alien and native species richness suggested the absence of competition between both species groups,as a result of differ-ent strategies in occupation of the *** dynamics over time constitute a net gain in biodiversity,increasing natives and maintaining a general alien pool,allowing the coexistence of *** interactions including facilitation and/or tolerance processes might be occurring in chilean post-agricultural grasslands,a fact that contradicts the accepted idea of the alien species as contenders.

Dear Editor, Arsenic (As) is a harmful metalloid that occurs in soil and water;its concentration varies considerably among geographic regions, with groundwater being the principal source of human contamination (smedley and Kinniburgh, 2002). Besides the direct contamination effect of drinking water that contains high As concentration, human poisoning may also occur after ingestion of contaminated food.
