Vertical drains are used to accelerate consolidation of clays in ground improvement *** zones exist around these drains,where permeability is reduced due to soil disturbance caused by the installation *** solution is widely used in practice to consider the effects of drain discharge capacity and smear on the consolidation *** this study,a computationally efficient diameter reduction method(DRM)obtained from the Hansbo solution is proposed to consider the smear effect without the need to model the smear zone *** by analytical and numerical results,a diameter reduction factor is analytically derived to reduce the diameter of the drain,while achieving similar solutions of pore pressure dissipation profile as the classical full model of the smear zone and *** the DRM,the excess pore pressure u obtained from the reduced drain in the original un-disturbed soil zone is accurate enough for practical applications in numerical *** performance of DRM is independent of soil material *** also show equally accurate performance of DRM under conditions of multi-layered soils and coupled radial-vertical groundwater flow.

Transfer RNA-derived small RNAs(tsRNAs)have been shown to be involved in early embryo development and repression of endogenous retroelements in embryos and stem ***,it is unknown whether tsRNAs also regulate embryo *** this study,we mined the sequencing data of a previous experiment in which we demonstrated that the microRNA(miRNA)cargo of preimplantation embryonic extracellular vesicles(EVs)influences embryo *** thus profiled the tsRNA cargo of EVs secreted by blastocysts and *** majority of tsRNAs was identified as tRNA halves originating from the 5'ends of *** the 148 differentially expressed tsRNAs,the 19 nt tRNA fragment(tRF)tDR-14:32-Glu-CTC-1 was found to be significantly up-regulated in EVs derived from ***-qPCR assays confirmed its significant up-regulation in non-blastocyst embryos and their conditioned medium compared to the blastocyst group(Psupplementing antagomirs to the conditioned medium improved embryo hatching(Pscriptomic analysis of embryos treated with tDR-14:32-Glu-CTC-1 antagomirs further showed differential expression of genes that are associated with embryo hatching and *** summary,tDR-14:32-Glu-CTC-1 is up-regulated in non-blastocyst embryos and their secretions,and inhibition of tDR-14:32-Glu-CTC-1 promotes embryo hatching,while influencing embryo implantation-related genes and *** results indicate that embryonic EVs containing specific tRFs may regulate preimplantation embryo development.

The Ananthakrishna model, seeking to explain the Portevin-Le Chatelier effect, is studied with or without non-synchronous perturbations. For the unperturbed model, Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation and zeroHopf bifurcation are detected. For the perturbed model, rich dynamical behaviors are given by researching the Poincaré map, including solutions of different periods, quasi-periodic solutions, chaotic solutions, and ***, an augmented temperature-dependent perturbation amplitude induces a transition from non-serrated to serrated flow on the stress-time curve. Notably, on the stress-strain curve, the phenomenon of repeated yielding diminishes with an increase in the value of a temperature-dependent parameter, while it persists with an increase in the value of a temperature-independent parameter. sensitivity analysis sheds light on the factors exerting the most significant influence on dislocation density.

We present radial velocity（RV） curve templates of RR Lyrae first-overtone（RRc） stars constructed with the Mg I b triplet and Hα lines using time-domain Medium-Resolution survey spectra of seven RRc stars from Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber spectroscopic Telescope（LAMOsT） Data Release 9. Additionally, we derive the relation between the stellar RV curve amplitudes and g-band light curve amplitudes from Zwicky Transient Facility（ZTF）public survey. For those RRc stars without ZTF g-band light curves, we provide the conversions from the light curve amplitudes in ZTF r-and i-bands, Gaia G-band, and V-band from the All-sky Automated survey for supernovae to those in ZTF g-band. We validate our RV curve templates using the RRc star sV scl and find the uncertainties of systemic RV are less than 2.11 km s-1and 6.08 km s-1based on the Mg I b triplet and Hα lines,respectively. We calculate the systemic RVs of 30 RRc stars using the RV curve templates constructed with the Mg I b triplet and Hα lines and find the systemic RVs are comparable with each other. This RV curve template will be particularly useful for obtaining the systemic RV of RRc using the LAMOsT spectroscopy.

Fault movement during earthquakes is a geotechnical phenomenon threatening buried pipelines and with the potential to cause severe damage to critical ***,effective prediction of pipe displacement is crucial for preventive management *** study aims to develop a fast,hybrid model for predicting vertical displacement of pipe networks when they experience *** this study,the complex behavior of soil and a buried pipeline system subjected to a normal fault is analyzed by using an artificial neural network(ann)to generate predictions the behavior of the soil when different parameters of it are *** this purpose,a finite element model is developed for a pipeline subjected to normal fault *** data bank used for training the ann includes all the critical soil parameters(cohesion,internal friction angle,Young’s modulus,and faulting).Furthermore,a mathematical formula is presented,based on biases and weights of the ann *** results show that the maximum error of the presented formula is 2.03%,which makes the proposed technique efficiently predict the vertical displacement of buried pipelines and hence,helps to optimize the upcoming pipeline projects.
