The galvanic corros.on behaviour of aluminium 3004 and copper with different area ratios.were s.udied in the tropical marine atmos.here at Tuticorin harbour over a period of 426 days. The area ratios.OfAAI： Acu, s.udied were l：l, 1：2, l：4, 1：8, 2：1, 4：1 ＆ 8：1. The galvanic corros.on behaviour of metals.was.s.udied in terms.of relative increas. in the corros.on rate of aluminium due to galvanic coupling with copper, relative decreas. in the corros.on rate of copper due to galvanic coupling with aluminium, and the s.s.eptibility of aluminium to pitting owing to galvanic coupling with copper, The galvanic potential and galvanic current of the s.s.em were monitored. Pits.of different dimens.ons.ranging from mild etchings.to perforations.were experienced on the borders.and the s.rfaces.of the interface of aluminium in contact with copper. The weathering parameters.and the environmental pollutants.which have a major role in influencing the galvanic corros.on of metals.were als. monitored. The corros.on products.res.lting from galvanic corros.on were analys.d us.ng XRD and the pitting on aluminium res.lting from galvanic corros.on has.been highlighted in terms.of pit depth, s.ze and dens.ty of pit, us.ng a high res.lution micros.ope.

In the pres.nt s.udy an attempt has.been made to inves.igate the relations.ip between the variations.in the fouling as.emblage and corros.on behaviour of Hs.A s.eel at three coas.al locations.in the Gulf of Mannar, India, over a period of 24 months. Oys.er fouling was.dominant in the Tuticorin open s.a, while barnacles.were the major foulants.in the Tuticorin harbour and Mandapam. The fouling load in the Tuticorin waters.was.higher when compared to the Mandapam waters. The corros.on rates.decreas.d progres.ively with the immers.on time at all three tes. locations. In the Tuticorin open s.a, the corros.on rates.were higher when compared to the other two locations.throughout the s.udy period. The s.rface of the coupons.was.characterized by crevices.beneath the hard foulers.in the Tuticorin harbour and Mandapam, whereas.in the Tuticorin open s.a, the coupons.experienced crevices.of a tunneling nature. The percentage of the los. of the tens.le s.rength increas.d with time at all the tes. locations.

In this.s.udy, the evolution of C60F18 molecules.on a Cu（001） s.rface was.s.udied by means.of s.anning tunneling micros.opy and dens.ty functional theory calculations. The res.lts.s.owed that fluorinated fuUerenes.（tortois.-s.aped polar C60F18） decay on Cu（001） s.rfaces.by a s.ep-by-s.ep detachment of F atoms.from the C60 cage. The mos. favorable ads.rption configuration was.realized when the F atoms.of C60F18 pointed towards.the Cu s.rface and s.x F atoms.were detached from it. The res.lts.als. s.owed that a further decay of C60F12 molecules.s.rongly depended on the initial C60F18 coverage. The detached F atoms.initially formed a two-dimens.onal （2D） gas.phas. which then s.owly trans.ormed into F-induced s.rface s.ructures. The degree of contact between the C60F12 molecules.and the Cu（001） s.rface depended on the dens.ty of the 2D gas.phas.. Hence, the life-time of fluorinated fullerenes.was.determined by the dens.ty of the 2D gas.phas., which was.affected by the formation of new F-induced s.ructures.and the decay of C60F12 molecules.

Recognizing the importance of electricity as.a driver of rapid economic growth and poverty alleviation,India aims.to provide acces. to all hous.holds.by *** the bes. efforts.of s.ate and federal governments.to meet cons.mers.electrical needs.budget cons.raints.inefficient operations.and mas.ive loan burdens.have hampered their *** from thes. concerns.rural India,which accounts.for 65%of the population,is.plagued by a s.ew of is.ues.including low electricity demand,a low load factor and the expectation of cheap *** concerns.bind the authorities.hands.preventing them from moving *** a res.lt,this.project aims.to model an autonomous.microgrid s.s.em that integrates.three potential renewable-energy s.s.ems.namely wind,s.n and hydrokinetic,to provide electricity for a remote *** s.arts.with as.es.ing the region’s.electricity needs.with its.*** HOMER Pro platform creates.a cos.-effective microgrid bas.d on the demand *** components.of the microgrid include 6.4-kW s.all wind turbine(s.T)groups.4.4-kW s.lar photovoltaic(PV)panels.a 5-kW hydrokinetic water turbine,battery s.orage and a *** project is.unique in that it cons.ders.s.te-s.ecific initial capital cos.s.replacement cos.s.and operation and maintenance cos.s.of the renewable-energy s.s.ems.and it does.not include any environmentally hazardous.energy *** s.cces.ful optimization res.lts.in terms.of levelized energy cos.s.are$0.0538,$0.0614 and$0.0427/kWh for wind,s.lar and hydrokinetic components.res.ectively,without any environmental is.ues.

s.lective oxidation of diphenylmethane to benzophenone requires.active and s.lective catalys.s. The framework incorporation of cerium in AlPO-5 molecular s.eves.creates.active cerium s.tes.in is.lation. Thes. active s.tes.are res.ons.ble for s.lective oxidation. Cerium incorporated AlPO-5 with different Al/Ce ratios.were s.nthes.zed, and the vapor phas. oxidation of diphenylmethane in air over thes. catalys.s.was.s.udied at 250, 275, 300, 325, and 350 °C. The diphenylmethane convers.on and s.lectivity for benzophenone were more than 90%. CeAlPO-5(25) was.found to be more active than other catalys.s. The s.ability of the catalys. was.verified by the time on s.ream s.udy which indicated s.eady diphenylmethane convers.on and benzophenone s.lectivity. Hence framework incorporated CeAlPO-5 molecular s.eves.are s.able and active catalys.s.for the s.lective oxidation of diphenylmethane.

Al-MCM-48 molecular s.eves.(s./Al molar ratios.= 25, 50, 75, and 100) were s.nthes.zed hydrothermally us.ng cetyltrimethyl-ammonium bromide as.the s.ructure directing template. The orderly arrangement of mes.pores.was.evident from the low angle X-ray diffraction patterns.and trans.is.ion electron micros.opy images. The catalytic performance of the materials.was.evaluated in the vapor phas. is.propylation of phenol with is.propyl acetate. Phenol convers.on decreas.d with the increas. in the s./Al ratio of the catalys.s. The major reaction product was.4-is.propyl phenol with 78% s.lectivity. The delocalization of phenolic oxygen electron pair over the aromatic ring promoted para-s.lective alkylation. s.ch delocalization could be aided by the hydrophilic s.rface of the molecular s.eves. Although an es.er was.us.d as.the alkylating agent, phenyl is.propyl ether was.not formed in the reaction.

The s.ructural, electronic and mechanical properties.of trans.tion metal hydrides.（TMH, TM=Mo, Tc, Ru） are inves.igated by means.of firs. principles.calculation bas.d on dens.ty fimctional theory with generalized gradient approximation. Among the five crys.allographic s.ructures.that have been inves.igated, the cubic phas. is.found to be more s.able than the hexagonal ones. A s.ructural phas. trans.tion from ZB to WC in Moll, NaC1 to NiAs.in TcH and NaCI to ZB to NiAs.in RuH is.als. predicted under high pres.ure. The calculated elas.ic cons.ants.indicate that all the three hydrides.are mechanically s.able at ambient pres.ure.
