The polymer on modulating the crys.al's.habit is.an evolving res.arch in pharmaceutical *** s.udy demons.rates.the crys.al habit modification of chlorzoxazone(CHZ)by heterogeneous.crys.allization(HC)in the binary s.lvent acetonitrile-ethanol(A-E(1:1))in the pres.nce of polyvinylpyrrolidine(PVP)at concentrations.of 0.50,0.75,and 1.00 wt%.The A-E(1:1)and PVP in HC experiments.influenced to change the s.ape of crys.als.from needle to plate s.ape and reduced the crys.al s.ze producing a lower as.ect ratio(in the range of 1.5-2.3).In the pres.nce of PVP,the CHZ s.ze dis.ribution is.65-78μm which tends.to enhance the powder flow-ability of CHZ crys.als.and as.the PVP concentration increas.s.the nucleation rate *** s.lubility of s.ze-reduced CHZ crys.als.at different pH is.found to be improved by 1.2-1.4 ***,HC is.deemed effective in modifying the phys.cochemical attributes.of CHZ.

An organic material, namely, ethyl p-dimethylamino benzoate was.crys.allized for the firs. time by s.lution growth technique us.ng pure and mixed s.lvents. Growth kinetics.and morphology changes.with s.lvents.were inves.igated bas.d on s.lute –s.lvent interactions.of pure and mixed s.lvents. An appropriate mixed s.lvent for high quality crys.als.with well-defined morphology is.reported. The abs.nce of s.lvent molecules.and the pres.nce of various.functional groups.of the grown s.mple were qualitatively confirmed by FTIR s.ectros.opic s.udies. Thermal properties.of the grown s.mple were analyzed by TG and DTA analys.s. Mechanical properties.of the EDMAB crys.al were inves.igated by micro hardnes. s.udies. Moreover, the grown crys.al s.ows.high trans.arency in the vis.ble and near IR regions. The material s.ows.relatively high s.G efficiency than that of KDP.

s.ngle crys.als.of the NLO material L-Prolinium tartrate (LPT) have been grown in the pres.nce and abs.nce of picric acid, by s.ow evaporation technique. Good quality crys.als.were harves.ed within 30 days. The grown crys.als.were characterized by s.ngle crys.al X-ray diffraction. The quality of the crys.als.grown in the pres.nce and abs.nce of picric acid was.examined by high res.lution X-ray diffractometry (HRXRD). Fourier trans.orm infrared s.ectros.opy (FTIR) and Fourier trans.orm Raman s.ectros.opy were us.d to confirm the pres.nce of the functional groups.of L-Prolinium tartrate and the abs.nce of picric acid in the crys.als. The thermal s.ability and the trend of decompos.tion of the grown crys.als.were analyzed by thermo gravimetric analys.s.(TGA). The influence of picric acid on the s.cond harmonic generation efficiency was.s.udied by Kurtz and Perry method. It was.obs.rved that the s.G efficiency increas.d by about 2.3 times.compared to that of normal LPT crys.als. The res.lts.are dis.us.ed in detail.

s.nar generated acous.ic s.gnals.trans.itted in underwater channel for dis.ant communications.are affected by numerous.factors.like ambient nois., making them nonlinear and non-s.ationary in nature. In recent years. the application of Empirical Mode Decompos.tion(EMD) technique to analyze nonlinear and non-s.ationary s.gnals.has.gained much attention. It is.an empirical approach to decompos. a s.gnal into a s.t of os.illatory modes.known as.intrins.c mode functions.IMFs.. In general, Hilbert trans.orm is.us.d in EMD for the identification of os.illatory s.gnals. In this.paper a new EMD algorithm is.propos.d us.ng FFT to identify and extract the acous.ic s.gnals.available in the underwater channel that are corrupted due to various.ambient nois.s.over a range of 100 Hz to 10 kHz in a s.allow water region. Data for analys.s.are collected at a depth of 5 m and 10 m offs.ore Chennai at the Bay of Bengal. The algorithm is.validated for different s.ts.of known and unknown reference s.gnals. It is.obs.rved that the propos.d EMD algorithm identifies.and extracts.the reference s.gnals.agains. various.ambient nois.s. s.gnificant s.R improvement is.als. achieved for underwater acous.ic s.gnals.

The performance and emis.ion characteris.ics.of a PPCCI engine fuelled with ethanol and dies.l blends.were car- ded out on a s.ngle cylinder air cooled CI engine. In order to achieve the optimal proces. res.ons. with a limited number of experimental cycles. multi objective grey relational analys.s.had been applied for s.lving a multiple res.ons. optimization problem. Us.ng grey relational grade and s.gnal-to-nois. ratio as.a performance index, a combination of input parameters.was.prefigured s. as.to achieve optimum res.ons. characteris.ics. It was.obs.rved that 20% premixed ratio of blend was.mos. s.itable for us. in a PPCCI engine without s.gnificantly affecting the engine performance and emis.ions.characteris.ics.
