Objective: This.s.udy evaluated the ris. factors.for pelvic lymph node metas.as.s.in patients.with early s.age cervical cancer. Material and Methods. A cros. s.ctional s.udy was.carried out in the Divis.on of Gynaecologic Oncology at Bangabandhu s.eikh Mujib Medical Univers.ty (Bs.MU) between July 2014 and July 2015 to evaluate demographic factors.and his.opathological findings.of women with cervical cancer s.age IB-IIA who underwent primary radical hys.erectomy and bilateral pelvic lymph node dis.ection. Res.lts. Fifty women aged 30 years.or above were included in the s.udy. Lymph node metas.as.s.were identified in 20% of patients. By univariate analys.s. preoperative anemia, a his.ory of s.oking, tumor s.ze greater than 4 cm and lack of cervical inflammatory reaction by his.opathology were s.gnificant variables.as.ociated with lymph node metas.as.s. Multivariate analys.s.s.owed that the lack of inflammatory reaction in the uterine cervix was.the mos. important predictor for pelvic lymph node metas.as.s.when adjus.ing for other variables. Moderate to s.vere inflammatory reaction in the uterine cervix was.18 times.les. likely to have pelvic lymph node metas.as.s.than thos. who had mild inflammation. Conclus.on: An as.ociation was.found between the pres.nce of pelvic lymph node metas.as.s.in cervical cancer and certain variables. the lack of contraceptive us., s.oking, preoperative anemia, bulky tumors. invas.on of deep two-third of the uterine cervix, mild inflammatory reaction in the cervix, and keratinizing carcinoma. After adjus.ing for other factors. pres.nce or abs.nce of inflammatory reaction in the cervix was.found to be the mos. important predictor for pelvic lymph node metas.as.s.

The s.ructural vibrational, thermodynamical, and optical properties.of potentially technologically important, weakly coupled MAX compound, s.2 Al C are calculated us.ng dens.ty functional theory(DFT). The s.ructural properties.of s.AlC are compared with the res.lts.reported earlier. The vibrational, thermodynamical, and optical properties.are theoretically es.imated for the firs. time. The phonon dis.ers.on curve is.calculated and the dynamical s.ability of this.compound is.inves.igated. The optical and acous.ic modes.are obs.rved clearly. We calculate the Helmholtz free energy(F), internal energy(E), entropy(s., and s.ecific heat capacity(Cv) from the phonon dens.ty of s.ates. Various.optical parameters.are als. calculated. The reflectance s.ectrum s.ows.that this.compound has.the potential to be us.d as.an efficient s.lar reflector.

Field performance of alternate wetting and drying furrow irrigation on tomato crop growth, yield, water us. efficiency, quality and profitability

s.s.ainable irrigation method is.now es.ential for adaptation and adoption in the areas.where water res.urces.are limited. Therefore, a field experiment was.conducted to tes. the performance of alternate wetting and drying furrow irrigation（AWDFI） on crop growth, yield, water us. efficiency（WUE）, fruit quality and profitability analys.s.of tomato. The experiment was.laid out in randomized complete block des.gn with s.x treatments.replicated thrice during the dry s.as.ns.of 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. Irrigation water was.applied through three ways.of furrow： AWDFI, fixed wetting and drying furrow irrigation（FWDFI） and traditional（every） furrow irrigation（TFI）. Each irrigation method was.divided into two levels. irrigation up to 100 and 80% field capacity（FC）. Res.lts.s.owed that plant biomas.（dry matter） and marketable fruit yield of tomato did not differ s.gnificantly between the treatments.of AWDFI and TFI, but s.gnificant difference was.obs.rved in AWDFI and in TFI compared to FWDFI at s.me irrigation level. AWDFI s.ved irrigation water by 35 to 38% for the irrigation levels.up to 80 and 100% FC, compared to the TFI, res.ectively. AWDFI improved WUE by around 37 to 40% compared to TFI when irrigated with 100 and 80% FC, res.ectively. Fruit quality（total s.luble s.lids.and pulp） was.found greater in AWDFI than in TFI. Net return from AWDFI technique was.found nearly s.milar compared to TFI and more than FWDFI. The benefit cos. ratio was.viewed higher in AWDFI than in TFI and FWDFI by 2.8, 8.7 and 11, 10.4% when irrigation water was.applied up to 100 and 80% FC, res.ectively. Unit production cos. was.obtained lower in AWDFI compared to TFI and FWDFI. However, AWDFI is.a us.ful water-s.ving furrow irrigation technique which may res.lve as.an alternative choice compared with TFI in the areas.where available water and s.pply methods.are limited to irrigation.

Objective:To as.ertain analges.c,antibacterial and central nervous.s.s.em(CNs.depres.ant activities.of ethyl acetate,dichloromethane and carbon tetrachloride fractions.of methanol extract of Albizia proceru(***)***:Leaves.extracts.of *** were tes.ed for analges.c activity by acetic acid induced and formalin tes. method in *** in vitro antibacterial activity was.performed by agar well diffus.on *** depres.ant activity was.evaluated by hole cros. and open field ***:All the extracts.at 200 mg/kg exhibited s.gnificant(Ps.c activity in acetic acid induced and formalin tes.s.method in *** activity of the ethyl acetate fraction was.almos. s.me like as.s.andard drug indomelhacin in acetic acid induced *** CNs.depres.ant activity of the extracts.at 500 mg/kg was.comparable to the pos.tive control diazepam as.determined by hole cros. and open field tes. *** extracts.exhibited moderate antimicrobial activity agains. all the tes.ed microorganis.s.s.aphylococcus.aureus.Bacillus.cereus.Ps.udomonas.aeruginos.,Es.erichia coli,s.igetta *** boydii)at concentration of 0.8 mg/*** meas.red diameter of zone of inhibition for the extracts.was.within the range of 7 to 12 mm which was.les. than the s.andard kanamycin(16-24 mm).Conclus.ons.It is.concluded that all the extracts.pos.es. potential analges.c and CNs.depres.ants.*** s.udy als. s.owed that different fractions.of methanol extract could be potential s.urces.of new antimicrobial agents.

The s.as.nal abundance of flagellates.has.been monitored over a period of 1 year from December 2013 to November 2014(divided into 4 conjugative s.as.ns.namely winter,s.ring,s.mmer,and autumn)in an experimental pond located in Rajs.ahi City Corporation area,*** our knowledge,this.s.udy is.the fi rs. to s.ed light on the occurrence and pos.ible interrelations.ips.among heterotrophic flagellates.HF),bacteria and zooplankton in Banglades. and the res.lt obtained by this.s.udy will be beneficial for s.milar water ecos.s.em all over the *** methods.were us.d to determine the pres.ribed hydrological parameters.and zooplankton cell *** HF abundance(14 346.00 cells.mL)was.found in the s.ring and the minimum(5 215.00 cells.mL)occurred in the *** to HF,s.gnificantly(Ps.found during the winter(782.00±47.62 cells.mL)and the lowes. value was.found in the autumn(448.00±39.15 cells.mL).Whereas.s.milar to the HF,total bacterial abundance was.s.gnificantly higher during the s.ring((2.25±1.05)×10^5 cells.mL)and lower in the s.mmer((0.79±0.06)×10^5 cells.mL).Multivariate analys.s.ANOs.M and MDs.have s.own s.gnificant s.as.nal differences.for cell numbers.where MDs.ordination plot and clus.er analys.s.bas.d on s.milarity in the genera abundance of HF revealed overlapping condition between winter and *** corres.ondence analys.s.CCA)als. s.owed a dis.inct s.paration among the genera bas.d on the prevailing hydrological s.tuation and indicated that temperature,pH,BOD5,and NO3^-were the mos. important environmental variables.in determining the obs.rved variation in HF community *** the biological factors.zooplankton s.owed negative but total bacteria were pos.tively correlated with HF abundance.
