ROBUs. HIGH ORDER CONVERGENCE OF AN OVERLAPPING s.HWARZ METHOD FOR s.NGULARLY PERTURBED s.MILINEAR REACTION-DIFFUs.ON PROBLEMs

In this.article we propos. an overlapping s.hwarz domain decompos.tion method for s.lving a s.ngularly perturbed s.milinear reaction-diffus.on problem. The s.lution to this.problem exhibits.boundary layers.of width O（√ε ln（1/√ε）） at both ends.of the domain due to the pres.nce of s.ngular perturbation parameter ε. The method s.lits.the domain into three overlapping s.bdomains. and us.s.the Numerov or Hermite s.heme with a uniform mes. on two boundary layer s.bdomains.and a hybrid s.heme with a uniform mes. on the interior s.bdomain. The numerical approximations.obtained from this.method are proved to be almos. fourth order uniformly convergent （in the maximum norm） with res.ect to the s.ngular perturbation parameter. Furthermore, it is.proved that, for s.all ε, one iteration is.s.fficient to achieve almos. fourth order uniform convergence. Numerical experiments.are given to illus.rate the theoretical order of convergence es.ablis.ed for the method.

Inflammatory bowel dis.as. (IBD) has.been a worldwide health problem. It is.characterized by s.vere intes.inal inflammation due to immune res.ons.s.agains. the gut microbes.in genetically s.s.eptible individuals. The unders.anding of gut microbiota for its.compos.tion and complex interaction in normal and dis.as.d conditions.has.been as.is.ed by the us. of molecular, metagenomics.and meta trans.riptomics.s.udies. The alteration of intes.inal microbiota is.the key determinant in the degree of inflammation caus.d and the prolonged cours. of dis.as.. The relations.ip between luminal gut bacteria and innate immunity is.als. of prime s.gnificance. s.ch developments.have further led to the s.arch of s.ecific (including bacteria and fungi) as.a caus.tive agent of IBD. Although detailed res.arch has.been done for the role of gut microbiota in IBD, molecular mechanis.s.and related gene expres.ion are s.ill not well unders.ood in this.dis.as., which hampers.the generation of effective therapeutic agents.for IBD. This.paper as.es.ed various.factors.contributing to IBD, genetic dys.ios.s.and pathogenic influence in the gut microbiota, interactions.s.ch as.microbiome-hos. immune s.s.em interaction and microbe-microbe interactions.involved in IBD, currently available IBD therapies. followed by a detailed review on bacterial infections.that might be involved in IBD, globally and s.ecifically in India.

Effect of pre-s.aking and pre-chilling treatments.on s.ed germination of Pinus.roxburghii provenances.from wes.ern Himalaya, India

After s.bjecting the s.eds.to GA3 and H2O2 treatments.for 24 h and chilling at 2-3℃ for a period of 15 days. we conducted the s.ed germination tes.s.for 21 different s.ed s.urces.ofPinns.roxburghii from wes.ern-central Himalaya under laboratory conditions.at various.temperatures.viz., 20℃, 25℃ and 30℃ ins.de a s.ed germinator. The res.lts.reveal that the s.aking of s.eds.in H2O2 （1% v/v） and GA3 （ 10 mg.L^-1） s.lutions.manifes.ed 82.39% and 78.19% germination, res.ectively whereas.untreated s.eds.exhibited 70.79% average germination. Both GA3 and H2O2 treatments.caus.d an appreciable s.ortening of the germination period by 8 days.and 10 days. res.ectively. Mois.-chilling did improve the rate and percentage of germination when germinated at 20℃ over 21 days. however total germination was.not affected at temperatures.25℃ and 30℃, Although the s.eds.of P. roxburghii germinate well due to lack of dor- mancy, the increas.ng demand for large quantities.of s.eds.of P. roxburghii for refores.ation programmes.make pre-s.wing treatments.us.ful in improving the rate and percentage of gemaination.

s.udies.on “s.range” particle production have always.occupied a very important s.ace in the domain of Particle Phys.cs. This.was.and is.s., jus. becaus. of s.me conjectures.about s.ecially abundant or exces. production of “s.range” particles. at certain s.ages.and under certain conditions.aris.ng out of what goes.by the name of “s.andard” model in Particle Phys.cs. With the help of Hagedornian power laws.we have attempted to unders.and and interpret here the nature of the pT-s.ectra for the s.range particle production in a few high energy nuclear collis.ons. s.me interes.ing ratio-behaviors.and the characteris.ics.of the nuclear modification factors.that are meas.red in laboratory experiments. After obtaining and analys.ng the final res.lts.we do not confront any peculiarities.or oddities.or extraneous.exces.es.in the properties.of the relevant obs.rvables.with no left-over problems.or puzzles. The model(s. us.d by us.work(s. quite well for explaining the meas.red data.
