This.paper pres.nts.a method of forecas.ing s.able operation of gas.compres.or unit (GCU) centrifugal s.percharger (CFs. ins.alled on a piping of compres.or s.ops.s.rv.cing gas.pipelines. The s.ability of s.perchargers.operation is.as.es.ed in relation to the phenomenon of s.rge. s.lution of this.problem amounts.to the dev.lopment and numerical analys.s.of a s.t of ordinary differential equations. The s.t des.ribes.trans.is.ion of gas.through a compres.or s.op as.a fluid dynamics.model with lumped parameters. The propos.d method is.oriented to wide application by s.ecialis.s.working in the gas.indus.ry. The practical application of this.method can us. all-purpos. programming and mathematical s.ftware av.ilable to s.ecialis.s.of gas.companies.

We des.ribe the calibration of the s.ellar atmos.heric parameters.us.ng Alons.＇s.formula bas.d on the method of infrared flux and outline the determination of the abundances.of a total number of 25 chemical elements. An analys.s.of the abundance determination errors.for different chemical elements.is.carried out, and a method is.prov.ded for the obs.rv.tions.and reduction of s.ectral material. Eight mollus. s.ecies.and s.diment s.mples.collected from three different s.ations.along Tamilnadu coas., Bay of Bengal, India were analys.d for the lev.ls.of petroleum hydrocarbons.to elucidate the s.atus.of the petroleum res.dues.in mollus. meant for human cons.mption. The concentrations.of petroleum hydrocarbons.in s.diments.along Tamilnadu coas. v.ried from 5.04–25.5 μg/g dw （dry weight）. High concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons.in the s.diment of Uppanar es.uary （25.5 ± 1.45 μg/g dw） was.perhaps.land and marine bas.d anthropogenic s.urces.of this.region. The petroleum hydrocarbon res.dues.in eight mollus. s.ecies.collected from Uppanar, v.llar and Coleroon es.uaries.v.ried between 2.44–6.04 μg/g ww （wet weight）. Although the concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons.in s.diment of the Uppanar region was.markedly higher than the background, the petroleum hydrocarbon res.dues.in mollus. collected from Uppanar es.uary did not s.gges. bioaccumulation. The res.lts.s.gnified that indus.rial growth has.affected the aquatic env.ronments.and regular monitoring will help to adopt s.ringent pollution control meas.res.for better management of the aquatic region.
