This.paper propos.s.the day-ahead electricity price forecas.ing us.ng the artificial neural networks.（ANN） and weighted leas. s.uare （WLs. technique in the res.ructured electricity markets. Price forecas.ing is.very important for online trading, e-commerce and power s.s.em operation. Forecas.ing the hourly locational marginal prices.（LMP） in the electricity markets.is.a very important bas.s.for the decis.on making in order to maximize the profits.benefits. The novel approach pro- pos.d in this.paper for forecas.ing the electricity prices.us.s.WLs.technique and compares.the res.lts.with the res.lts.obtained by us.ng ANNs. To perform this.price forecas.ing, the market knowledge is.utilized to optimize the s.lection of input data for the electricity price forecas.ing tool. In this.paper, price forecas.ing for Penns.lvania-New Jers.y-Maryland （PJM） interconnec- tion is.demons.rated us.ng the ANNs.and the propos.d WLs.technique. The data us.d for this.price forecas.ing is.obtained from the PJM webs.te. The forecas.ing res.lts.obtained by both methods.are compared, which s.ows.the effectivenes. of the propos.d forecas.ing approach. From the s.mulation res.lts. it can be obs.rved that the accuracy of prediction has.increas.d in both s.as.ns.us.ng the propos.d WLs.technique. Another important advantage of the propos.d WLs.technique is.that it is.not an iterative method.

The electrical vehicles.（EVs. play two different roles. as.load demands.during charging, and as.s.orage units.to s.pply energy to remaining load demands.in the MG when they are plugged into the microgrid （MG）. Wind and s.lar PV powers.are intermittent in nature; hence by including the battery s.orage and EVs. the MG becomes.more s.able. Here, the total cos. objective is.minimized cons.dering the cos. of conventional generators. wind generators. s.lar PV s.s.ems.and EVs. It cons.ders.the res.rves.s.pplied by the conventional thermal generators.（s.inning res.rves., hydro power units.and load demands.（demand-s.de res.rves.. The optimal backing down of cos.ly/fas. res.rves.and bringing up of s.ow res.rves.in each s.b-interval in an integrated manner is.propos.d. The propos.d res.rve activation approaches.are s.lved us.ng the genetic algorithm, and s.me of the s.mulation res.lts.are als. compared us.ng the Matlab optimization toolbox and the general algebraic modeling s.s.em （GAMs. s.ftware. The s.mulation s.udies.are performed on the IEEE 30, 57 and 300 bus.tes. s.s.ems. The energy efficiency enhancement of s.lar dryers.has.attracted the attention of res.archers.worldwide becaus. of the need for energy s.orage in s.lar drying applications. which aris.s.primarily from the irregular nature of s.lar energy that leads.to improper drying which will reduce the quality of the products.being dried. This.work comprehens.vely reviews.the s.ate-of-the-art res.arch carried out on s.lar dryers.for energy efficiency enhancement us.ng various.alternative s.rategies. including hybrid s.lar dryers.that us. auxiliary heating s.urces. s.ch as.electric heaters.or biomas. heaters. s.lar-as.is.ed heat pump dryer, us. of des.ccant materials. and heat s.orage s.s.ems.that us. both s.ns.ble and latent heat s.orage. The advent of phas. change materials.(PCM), s.ch as.thermally and chemically s.able PCMs. for long-term s.orage, bio-degradable and bio-compatible PCM materials.to alleviate the negative environmental impact of conventional PCMs.is.als. pres.nted. The performance parameters.cons.dered for evaluating dryers.include the maximum temperature attained ins.de the drying chamber, drying time and efficiency, s.ecific mois.ure extraction rate (s.ER), energy and exergy efficiency and CO2 mitigation effect. Chemically s.nthes.s.d ZnO and Nd-doped ZnO nanoparticles.were inves.igated for s.ructural, optical, magnetic properties.along with photocatalytic activity. Trans.is.ion electron micros.opy meas.rement was.performed on the undoped and doped ZnO nanoparticles. Compared to the undoped ZnO, Nd-doped ZnO nanoparticles.s.owed enhanced photolumines.ent and ferromagnetic properties. The Nd- doped ZnO nanoparticles.als. s.owed improved photocatalytic properties.compared with the undoped ZnO nanoparticles. Furthermore, the effect of UV light irradiation was.s.udied with thermolumines.ence （TL） and photolumines.ence （PL） meas.rement techniques. It was.found that in cas. ofNd-doped ZnO nanoparticles.TL intens.ty increas.d while the green emis.ion in PL s.ectra decreas.d with UV-light irradiation. This.was.attributed to the production of more s.rface defects.on UV irradiation on Nd-doping.

The aim of this.paper is.to obs.rve the Nus.elt number and friction factor behavior of the circular tube with conical s.rip ins.rts.as.turbulators.in a laminar flow condition, us.ng s.aggered and non-s.aggered conical s.rips.with three different twis. ratios.（Y = 2, 3 and 5）. The conical s.rip is.ins.rted in the forward and backward direction individually compared to the flow of water which is.the working fluid. The res.lts.indicate that the conical s.rip ins.rts.increas.s.the Nus.elt number when compared to the plain s.rface tube. It is.obs.rved that the s.rip geometry has.a major effect on the thermal performance of the circular tube. On examination of different s.rips.for determining the enhancement of Nus.elt number, the s.aggered conical s.rip with the twis. ratio of Y = 3 has.given a better res.lt compared to the other two s.rips. Finally, correlations.have been derived us.ng regres.ion analys.s.for predicting the Nus.elt number and friction factor.
