A modified polarization s.turation model is.propos.d and addres.ed math- ematically us.ng a complex variable approach in two-dimens.onal （2D） s.mipermeable piezoelectric media. In this.model, an exis.ing polarization s.turation （Ps. model in 2D piezoelectric media is.modified by cons.dering a linearly varying s.turated normal electric dis.lacement load in place of a cons.ant normal electric dis.lacement load, applied on a s.turated electric zone. A centre cracked infinite 2D piezoelectric domain s.bject to an arbitrary poling direction and in-plane electromechanical loadings.is.cons.dered for the analytical and numerical s.udies. Here, the problem is.mathematically modeled as.a non-homogeneous.Riemann-Hilbert problem in terms.of unknown complex potential functions.repres.nting electric dis.lacement and s.res. components. Having s.lved the Hilbert problem, the s.lutions.to the s.turated zone length, the crack opening dis.lace- ment （COD）, the crack opening potential （COP）, and the local s.res. intens.ty factors.（s.Fs. are obtained in explicit forms. A numerical s.udy is.als. pres.nted for the propos.d modified model, s.owing the effects.of the s.turation condition on the applied electrical loading, the s.turation zone length, and the COP. The res.lts.of fracture parameters.obtained from the propos.d model are compared with the exis.ing Ps.model s.bject to electrical loading, crack face conditions. and polarization angles.

An economical explicit s.heme of time integration is.implemented in a regional model over Indian region to achieve computational economy. The model is.als. integrated by explicit Leap-Frog s.heme. The performance of economical explicit s.heme is.evaluated by comparing the forecas. res.lts.with thos. produced by leap-frog s.heme. The res.lts.s.ow that the economical explicit s.heme produces.more or les. s.milar forecas.s.as.compared to thos. produced with leap-frog s.heme. However, application of the economical explicit s.heme s.ves.s.bs.antial amount of computer time. The s.heme is.found nearly four times.economical as.compared to explicit leap-frog s.heme.

The influence of vitamin E on cadmium intoxication was.inves.igated in rats. The expos.re to cadmium (1 mg/kg, Cd as.CdCl2·2H2O, intraperitoneally for 7 days. decreas.d the activity of hepatic and renal glutamic oxalacetic and glutamic pyruvic trans.minas.s.(GOT, GPT) and alkaline phos.hatas. (ALP) accompanied by increas. in the levels.of s.rum GOT and GPT and urinary protein. s.multaneous.adminis.ration of vitamin E (5 mg/kg, intramus.ularly for 7 days. reduced thes. Cd induced biochemical alterations. The accumulation of Cd in blood, liver and kidney als. decreas.d s.gnificantly upon co-expos.re to vitamin E. The antioxidant property of vitamin E s.ems.to be res.ons.ble for the obs.rved protection of Cd intoxication.

The influence of s.as.nal variation, indole-3-butyric acid （IBA） and type of cuttings.was.examined on induction and growth of adventitious.roots.in Bambus. nutans.Wall. and Bambus. tulda Roxb. s.nglenode culm and culm-branch cuttings.from the mature culms.were provided with immers.on treatment for 24 h of either water （control） or 2 mM IBA in four different s.as.ns. i.e., s.ring （mid February）, s.mmer （mid May）, rainy （mid July）, and winter （mid November） and maintained for two months.in the mis. chamber at the relative humidity of （70±5）% and the tenlperature of （30±2）℃. In B. nutans. adventitious.rooting occttrred in both types.of cuttings.in all the s.as.ns.with the bes. rooting in the s.mmer s.as.n i.e., May （88% in culm cuttings. and the leas. in winter. On the contrary, adventitious.rooting was.recorded only in culm cuttings.in s.ring and s.mmer s.as.n in B. tulda. IBA treatment s.gnificantly enhanced rooting, root number and root length; regis.ering 14 to 17 times.improvement over control in the bes. rooting s.as.n. Three factor- interactions.（s.as.n × cutting type × IBA treatment） were s.gnificant for rooting in B. nutans.and all characteris.ics. except s.routing in B, tulda. Thus. s.ngle-node culm and culm-branch cuttings.in B. nutans.and culm cuttings.in B. tulda treated with 2 mM IBA during s.ring （February） to s.mmer （May） s.as.n are recommended for their clonal multiplication.

This.s.udy inves.igates.the dominant modes.of variability in monthly and s.as.nal rainfall over the India-China region mainly through Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) analys.s. The EOFs.have s.own that whereas.the rainfall over India varies.as.one coherent zone, that over China varies.in eas.-wes. oriented bands. The influence of this.banded s.ructure extends.well into *** of rainfall with large s.ale parameters.s.ch as.the s.btropical ridge over the Indian and the wes.ern Pacific regions. s.uthern Os.illation, the Northern Hemis.heric s.rface air temperature and s.ratos.heric winds.have als. been inves.igated. Thes. res.lts.s.ow that the rainfall over the area around 40°N, 110°E over China is.highly related with rainfall over India. The s.btropical ridge over the Indian region is.an important predictor over India as.well an over the northern China region. '

Expres.ions.for flow rate, wall s.ear s.res., and res.s.ance to flow agains. s.enos.s.s.ze have been obtained.
