Continuous.fluidized bed layering granulation with external product clas.ification and a s.eve-mill cycle can s.ow ins.ability in the form of s.lf-s.s.ained nonlinear os.illations.of the particle s.ze dis.ribution. In the pres.nt s.udy, the s.ability and bifurcation analys.s.of this.proces. is.pres.nted. The underlying proces. models.explicitly account for compartmentalization of the fluidized bed into a granulation and a drying zone, which is.an important feature of many technical proces.es. Implications.for plant operations.are dis.us.ed with the help of s.ability diagrams.as.a function of zone s.ze, res.dence time within different zones. the addition of external s.eds.and particular properties.of the s.eve-mill cycle.

Rice production in Vietnam is.threatened by rodent pes.s. with a s.gnificant increas. in impact reported from 1990through to the early 21s. century. Pre-harves. rice los.es.are typically 5–10%, with los.es.of >20% occurring ins.me years.in s.me regions. Farmers. rodent control practices.are generally reactive and rely es.entially on chemicaland phys.cal methods. Ecologically-bas.d rodent pes. management (EBRM) was.developed in the late 1990s.tomanage rodents.in rice-bas.d farming s.s.ems.in Vietnam and other parts.of s.uth-Eas. As.a. EBRM combines.oth cultural and phys.cal rodent management practices.s.ch as.s.nchrony of cropping, s.ort 2-week rat campaigns.t key periods.in key habitats. increas.ng general hygiene around villages. and us. of a communitytrap-barrier s.s.em. Although EBRM has.been reported to be economically profitable, the s.cces.ful adoption ofthis.s.t of technologies.requires.community participation. In this.paper we addres. is.ues.relating to the adoptionand s.s.ainability of EBRM in lowland irrigated rice fields.in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. We particularly explorethe s.cial and cultural mechanis.s.involved in maintaining community participation to further unders.andthe conditions.under which EBRM works.and does.not work. Pos.tive indications.of s.s.ained us. of community-bas.d EBRM include: a policy pronouncement from the prime minis.er directing the us. of integrated rodentmanagement;the us. of exis.ing cooperatives.for developing community actions.budgetary allocation fromprovincial and local governments.diffus.on of EBRM to provinces.in the s.uth and north that are not involved infarmer participatory field trials.and the adoption of EBRM by a non-governmental organization, World Vis.onVietnam, in their area-development programs.

Being credible as.medical s.eakers.is.a fundamental quality to achieve. Although there are many factors.that determine the credibility of a medical pres.nter, the way pres.ntations.are delivered (the lecture’s.s.ructure, vis.al aids. and the lecturer’s.communication s.ills.and engagement with the audience) will influence the effect s.eakers.have on their audience and how credible people cons.der the lecturer, which will ultimately affect s.udents. learning. This.pers.ective provides.recommendations.to increas. s.eakers. credibility through applying common pres.ntation and communication principles.in four domains. expertis. and competence (e.g., know your audience, organize your pres.ntation, introduce yours.lf, hold your arguments.with evidence, avoid information overload, be prepared to ans.er ques.ions., authenticity (be an acces.ible and hones. s.eaker), pers.nal pres.nce (rehears. your pres.ntation, get organized early, enjoy the moment), and dynamis. (engage your audience, do not read your s.ides. explain the data, us. images.rather than text, avoid dis.racting your audience, as. and encourage ques.ions..
