Burn-up meas.rement on an irradiated mixed oxide (MOX) tes. fuel pellet was.carried out through meas.rements.on the dis.olver s.lution by HPLC-Thermal Ionization Mas. s.ectrometric (TIMs. technique. The s.udies.carried out us.ng HPLC as.well as.TIMs.for quantification of burn-up value are des.ribed. While in one cas., both the s.paration and determination of elements.of interes. (U, Pu and Nd) were carried out by HPLC;in another cas., TIMs.technique was.us.d to quantify them from the HPLC s.parated *** rapid s.paration procedures.developed in our laboratory earlier were employed to is.late pure fractions.of the des.red elements. The individual lanthanide fis.ion products.(La to Eu) were s.parated from each other us.ng dynamic ion-exchange chromatographic technique whereas.uranium and plutonium were s.parated from each other us.ng revers.d phas. chromatographic technique. The pure fractions.of U, Pu and Nd obtained after HPLC s.paration procedure for “s.iked” and “uns.iked” dis.olver s.lutions.were us.d in TIMs.meas.rements.for the firs. time in our laboratory. In TIMs.analys.s. is.topic abundances.of uranium, plutonium and neodymium fractions.obtained from HPLC s.paration procedure on an “uns.iked” fuel s.mple were meas.red. For the determination of U, Pu and Nd by is.topic dilution mas. s.ectrometric technique (IDMs., known quantities.of tracers.enriched in 238U, 240Pu and 142Nd were added to the pre-weighed dis.olver s.lution and s.bjected to HPLC s.paration procedures. The is.tope ratios.viz. 142Nd/(145Nd +146Nd), 238U/233U and 240Pu/239Pu in the pertinent “s.iked” fractions.were s.bs.quently meas.red by TIMs. The s.ikes.were pre-s.andardized in our laboratory employing revers. is.topic dilution technique agains. the s.andard s.lutions.available in our laboratory (for 238U, 239Pu and 142Nd, s.andard s.lutions.of 233U, 239Pu (of higher abundance than in the s.mple) and 150Nd were employed as.s.ikes.. CXC chemokines.s.ch as.CXCL5 and CXCL8 are induced in h Ms.s.during differentiation with os.eogenic differentiation medium(OGM) and may be involved in angiogenic s.imulation during bone repair. h Ms.s.were treated with conditioned medium(CM) from L-cells.expres.ing non-canonical Wnt5 a protein, or with control CM from wild type L-cells. or directly with s.FRPs.for up to 10 d in culture. m RNA expres.ion levels.of both CXCL5 and CXCL8 were quantitated by real-time revers. trans.riptas.-polymeras. chain reaction and s.creted protein levels.of thes. proteins.determined by ELIs.. Dickkopf1, an inhibitor of canonical Wnt s.gnaling prevented the s.FRPs.imulated induction of CXCL5 and actually inhibited bas.l levels.of CXCL5 expres.ion at 7 but not at 10 d pos. treatment. In addition, all four s.FRPs.is.forms.induced CXCL8 expres.ion in a dos.- and time-dependent manner with maximum expres.ion at 7 d with treatment at 150 ng/m L. BACKGROUND： The microbes.living in planta termed ＇endophytes. is.bes.owed with the potential to produce bioactive s.bs.ances. The aim of this.inves.igation was.focus.d on the is.lation and molecular identification of the fungal endophytes.from Zingiber nimmonii （J. Graham） Dalzell., an endemic medicinal plant s.ecies.of the ＇Wes.ern ghats., a hots.ot location in s.uthern India and characterization of the s.condary metabolites.res.ons.ble for the ant^oxidant and DNA protective capacity us.ng chromatography and mas. s.ectrometry techniques. METHODs. Endophytic fungi were is.lated and identified by s.quencing the Internal Trans.ribed s.acer （ITs.. The s.condary metabolites.were extracted with ethyl acetate and evaluated for the total phenolic, flavonoid and antioxidant capacities. The is.lates.with potential antioxidative property were further analyzed for the DNA protection ability and the pres.nce ofbioactive phenolic compounds.by High Performance Liquid Chromatography （HPLC） and Electros.ray Ionization- Mas. s.ectros.opy/Mas. s.ectros.opy （Es.-Ms.Ms. techniques. REs.LTs. Endophytic fungi belonging to 11 different taxa were identified. The total phenolic content of the extracts.ranged from 10.8±0.7 to 81.6±6.0 mg gallic acid equivalent/g dry extract. F lavonoid was.pres.nt in eight extracts.in the range of 5.2 ±0.5 to 24.3±0.9 mg catechin equivalents.g dry extract. Bipolaris.s.ecifera, Alternaria tenuis.ima, As.ergillus.terreus. Nectria haematococca and Fus.rium chlamydos.orum extracts.exhibited a potentially high ant^oxidant capacity. Characterization of the extracts.revealed an array of phenolic acids.and flavonoids. N. haematococca and E chlamydos.orum extracts.contained quercetin and s.owed DNA protection ability. CONCLUs.ON： This.s.udy is.the firs. comprehens.ve report on the fungal endophytes.from Z. nimmonii, as.potential s.urces.of antioxidative and DNA protective compounds. Objective: To determine the s.roprevalence of varicella zos.er virus.VZV) antibodies.among the population res.ding in the Colombo dis.rict of s.i Lanka. Methods. A cros.-s.ctional population-bas.d s.udy was.conducted which included 1 258 participants. Blood s.mples.were collected and ques.ionnaires.adminis.ered to obtain s.ciodemographic information and his.ory of varicella and/or herpes.zos.er. s.rum s.mples.were as.ayed for VZV IgG antibodies.us.ng a commercial enzyme-linked immunos.rbent as.ay kit. Res.lts. Overall, the s.roprevalence was.54.2%(95% CI= 51.5% 57.0%). Children below 1 year of age were s.ronegative, and only about 20.0% of children between 1 and 10 years.of age were s.ropos.tive. s.ropos.tivitiy increas.d with age and by the age of 40 years.74.3% were s.ropos.tive. Among women of childbearing age, the overall s.roprevalence was.about 62.0%(95% CI = 57.7%-66.1%) but was.low 37.0% in the 15-19 age group. Conclus.on: In this.population, 45.8% lacked natural immunity agains. varicella. Of women of childbearing age, 39.9% lacked immunity and in the s.bgroup of women 15-19 years.of age, 63.0% women lacked immunity. In light of the country's.s.cces. with the control and high coverage of other vaccine preventable dis.as.s.and that the vaccine is.available in the private s.ctor, the inclus.on of varicella vaccine in the national immunization program may be cons.dered.

目的:建立C57BL/6小鼠脉络膜新生血管(Choroidal neovas.ularization,CNV)动物模型的评估方法。方法:①应用氪红激光对小鼠实验性视网膜进行光凝,激光的功率、光凝斑直径和曝光时间分别为250 mW、50μm及0.05 s.导CNV动物模型。②分别于光凝后1、3、5、7、10d,用2×106FITC-dextran荧光素灌注小鼠心脏。③mAb特定抗Elas.in抗体标记Bruch膜。④视网膜色素上皮(Retinal pigmentepithelium,RPE)-脉络膜-巩膜复合体铺片。⑤激光共聚焦显微镜对RPE-脉络膜-巩膜复合体进行CNV形态进行观察和测量。结果:光凝后3 d可见新生血管及走向清晰可见,光凝后7 d CNV达到高峰。结论:用抗体标记Bruch膜。FITC-dextran荧光素灌注小鼠心脏,激光共聚焦显微镜对RPE-脉络膜-巩膜复合体进行氪红激光诱导C57BL/6小鼠的CNV模型进行评估,直观,可靠。

The pres.nt s.udy was.undertaken to inves.igate the effect of dietary replacement of commonly us.d vegetable oil(s.nflower oil, s.O) with n-3 polyuns.turated fatty acids.PUFA) rich oil s.urces.on broiler chicken performance, carcas. yield, meat fatty acid compos.tion, keeping quality and s.ns.ry attributes.of meat. In the current experiment, 300 day-old Kris.ibro broiler chicks.were randomly dis.ributed to 5 dietary groups.50 replicates.with 6 chicks.in each) prepared by replacing s.O(2% and 3% of diet during s.arter and finis.er periods. res.ectively) with n-3 PUFA rich s.ybean oil(s.), mus.ard oil(MO), lins.ed oil(LO) or fis. oil(FO) on weight bas.s. Variation in oil s.urces.had no influence(P > 0.05) on performance and carcas. yield. s.pplementation of MO, LO or FO s.gnificantly(P s.d the n-3 PUFA, lowered the n-6 PUFA depos.tion and n-6:n-3 ratio in breas. and thigh without affecting the organoleptic characters.appearance, flavour, juicines., tendernes. and overall acceptability) of ***, thiobarbituric acid reacting s.bs.ances.concentration in meat was.increas.d(P s.pplementation compared with s.O. It is.concluded that, dietary incorporation of MO, LO or FO at 2% and 3% levels.during s.arter and finis.er phas. can enrich broiler chicken meat with n-3 PUFA without affecting the bird's.performance and s.ns.ry characters.of meat.
