A detailed inves.igation was.conducted to unders.and the contamination characteris.ics.and dis.ributions.of heavy metal pollution in terms.of contributions.of the heavy metal concentrations.as.mg/kg ofCd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb, Fe and Mn in the urban s.il in Es.is.hir city center. The amount of thes. heavy metals.were determined from 15 s.il s.mple points.collected within urban area and every s.mple point included 6 s.parated s.mples.for chemical analys.s. The res.lts.indicated that concentration values.of all metals.except Ni and Cr in s.ils.were below the ris.y limit pollution values.which are recommended by Turkey Minis.ry of Environment and Fores.ry in s.me s.mple points. s.atial dis.ribution maps.were created and recoded, in terms.of thes. heavy metals.concentrations.as.contribution to heavy metal pollution in s.il, through Geographical Information s.s.ems.techniques. As.a res.lt, ris.y areas.were modeled in terms.of contamination of heavy metal and it is.s.own that, every different ris.y area can be interpreted bas.d on buildings.in city center quickly and eas.ly.
