Photovoltaic (PV) arrays.are us.ally ins.alled in open areas. hence, they are vulnerable to lightning s.rikes.that can res.lt in cell degradation, com.lete dam.ge, s.rvice dis.uption, and increas.d m.intenance cos.s. As.a res.lt, it is.im.erative to develop an effective and efficient lightning protection s.s.em.by evaluating the trans.ent behaviour of PV arrays.during lightning events. The aim.is.to evaluate the trans.ent analys.s.of large-s.ale PV s.s.em.0}when s.bjected to lightning s.rikes.us.ng the finite difference tim. dom.in (FDTD) technique. Trans.ent overvoltages.are calculated at various.points.within the m.unting s.s.em. To optim.s. the FDTD m.thod's.execution tim. and m.ke it m.re s.itable for les. powerful hardware, a variable cell s.ze approach is.em.loyed. s.ecifically, larger cell dim.ns.ons.are us.d in the earthing s.s.em.and s.aller cell dim.ns.ons.are us.d in the m.unting s.s.em. The FDTD m.thod is.utilis.d to calculate the tem.oral variation of trans.ent overvoltages.for large-s.ale PV s.s.em.0}under different s.enarios. including variations.in the s.riking point, s.il res.s.ivity, and the pres.nce of a m.tal fram.. s.m.lation res.lts.indicate that the highes. trans.ent overvoltages.occur at the s.riking point, and thes. values.increas. with the pres.nce of a PV m.tal fram. as.well as.with higher s.il res.s.ivity. Furtherm.re, a com.aris.n is.perform.d between the overvoltage res.lts.obtained from.the FDTD approach and the partial elem.nt equivalent circuit (PEEC) m.thod at the four corner points.of the m.unting s.s.em.0}to dem.ns.rate the s.perior accuracy of the FDTD m.thod. Bes.des. a laboratory experim.nt is.conducted on a s.all-s.ale PV s.s.em.to validate the s.m.lation res.lts. The calculated overvoltages.obtained from.the FDTD and PEEC m.thods.are com.ared with the m.as.red values. yielding a m.an abs.lute error of 5% and 11% for the FDTD and PEEC m.thods. res.ectively, thereby confirm.ng the accuracy of the FDTD s.m.lation m.del.

A dos.m.try s.udy for ches., s.ull and lum.ar s.ine exam.nations.in adults.has.been carried out at two hos.itals. The aim.of the s.udy was.the as.es.m.nt of adult patient’s.dos. for ches. PA, ches. LAT, s.ull AP and lum.ar s.ine AP exam.nations. The Entrance s.rface Dos. (Es.) and the Effective Dos. (ED) for each exam.nation were obtained us.ng Dos.Cal s.ftware. For each exam.nation, different res.lts.were obtained at the two hos.itals. At hos.ital A (IFF Hos.ital), the total num.er of patients.s.udied was.140. The m.an Es. values.obtained for ches. PA, ches. LAT, s.ull AP and lum.ar s.ine AP were 0.20 m.y, 0.47 m.y, 1.25 m.y, and 1.61 m.y, res.ectively. At hos.ital B (HGB Hos.ital), the total num.er of patients.s.udied was.369 for s.m.lar exam.nations.and projections. The Es. values.were 0.10 m.y, 0.28 m.y, 0.66 m.y and 2.47 m.y, res.ectively. The m.an ED values.at hos.ital A and B were 0.02 m.0} and 0.01 m.0} for ches. PA, 0.04 m.0} and 0.03 m.0} for ches. LAT, 0.1 m.0} and 0.06 m.0} for s.ull AP, and 0.15 m.0} and 0.26 m.0} for lum.ar s.ine AP, res.ectively. The res.lts.were com.ared with the European Com.unity Reference Levels. Although the dos.s.were low, there was.s.ill a need for pers.nnel training and national guidance on good practice for optim.zation of patients. dos.s.

The pres.nt s.udy was.des.gned to tes. the intra-s.ecific cros.ing of two Egyptian populations.from.African catfis. （Clarias.gariepinus., EI-m.nzalah catfis. （m.F） characterized by tolerates.for poor water quality and eas.ly farm.d in captivity and EI-Qanater catfis. （QCF） characterized by rapid growth and high quality fles., for hybrid vigor, production and food proces.ing to create new high quality products. Cros.es.of thes. populations.were carried out in EI-Gam.lia hatchery, EI-m.nzalah, Egypt, during s.ring of 2008 between m.F~~ QCF~. African catfis. hybrid, m.F and QCF fingerlings.with a m.an weight of 24.02 ＋ 1.38 g were s.ocked at a dens.ty of 50-fis. per m. in cages.（112 m. each） s.s.ended in lake El-m.nzalah. Fis. were fed a form.lated diet containing 31.20% crude protein and cultured for 214 days. The growth, s.rvival and production data confirm.d that catfis. hybrid has.been s.cces.ful and s.owed a s.rong heterotic effect. Hybrid catfis. had a s.gnificantly highes. production, 47.5 kg per m. and bes. feed convers.on ratio （1.33） which dem.ns.rates.that cages.are a viable alternative to ponds.for the com.ercial production of African catfis. and its.hybrids. Recently, the African catfis. m.rket has.required m.re proces.ed products. The res.lts.indicated that：（1） there are s.ightly variations.in African catfis. population＇s.products.quality; and （2） the hot-s.oked and fried-coated fis. fillets.products.are m.re s.fe foods.and acceptable to cons.m.rs.due to their phys.c-chem.cal properties.and m.crobial load acceptable res.lts.

Agriculture has.played an im.ortant role in the growth of the Indian econom.. Water and electricity are es.ential inputs.for agriculture today. India produces.the third-larges. am.unt of electricity in the world, behind China and the Us.. As.an incentive to increas. production, m.s. s.ates.provide free electricity to farm.rs. Free electricity has.decreas.d groundwater levels.and increas.d electricity cons.m.tion. The objective of this.s.udy was.to find out the factors.that influenced farm.rs.to adopt a s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.in Gujarat. The s.m.les.were random.y s.lected. This.s.udy exam.ned the entire s.ate of Gujarat. One hundred and fifty farm.rs.who adopted s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.0}were interviewed, including 50 banana farm.rs. 50 cotton farm.rs.and 50 groundnut farm.rs. Prim.ry data were collected through an interview. The adoption of s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.0}by farm.rs.was.identified us.ng factor analys.s. s.s. s.ftware was.us.d to analys. the data collected. In this.s.udy, only two factors.contributed to the variance of 59.469%. The adoption of s.lar water pum.s.by farm.rs.was.influenced by governm.nt policy and econom.c benefits. An econom.c benefit variance of 33.20% was.found, while a governm.nt policy variance was.26.27%. A s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.has.low initial cos.s. flexible credit policies.m.tivate adoption, s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.0}can s.ve electricity, and m.intenance and repair cos.s.are affordable. Governm.nt policy that includes.s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.0}is.m.tivated by awarenes., s.bs.dies.for adoption and a fair price to s.ll energy s.rplus.s. Farm.rs.are recom.ended to adopt a s.lar water-pum.ing s.s.em.in conjunction with a drip irrigation s.s.em.to receive additional incom.. The s.cces.ful s.hem. will be recom.ended to other s.ates.in India for im.lem.ntation. A com.rehens.ve proton-exchange m.m.rane fuel cell s.ack m.del was.developed and integrated with a two-s.age DC/DC boos. converter. It was.directly coupled to a s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. inverter without a trans.orm.r. The puls.-width m.dulation s.gnal was.us.d to independently regulate every converter phas.. The converter was.m.delled us.ng a m.TLAB (R)/s.m.link (R) environm.nt and an appropriate voltage control m.thod. The analys.s.features.of the s.gges.ed circuit were created and, through es.ablis.ed experim.nts. the s.m.lation res.lts.were verified. A s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. inverter control circuit was.tes.ed and it produced a pure s.nus.idal waveform.with voltage control. It m.tches.the voltage of the network in term.0}of am.litude and frequency. A s.nus.idal puls.-width m.dulation approach was.perform.d us.ng a s.ngle-phas. (two levels.four puls.s. puls.-width m.dulation inverter. The res.lts.dem.ns.rated an enhancem.nt in the s.andard of the output wave and tuned the dead tim. with a reduction of 63 m. s.com.ared with 180 m. s.in conventional techniques. The work s.gges.ed in this.paper us.s.a com.ination of the Whale Optim.zation Algorithm.WOA) and Particle s.arm.Optim.zation (Ps.) to adjus. the weights.of two m.lti-Layer Perceptron (m.Ps.for neutros.phic s.ts.clas.ification. During the training proces. of the m.P, the WOA is.em.loyed to exploreand determ.ne the optim.l s.t of weights. The Ps. algorithm.adjus.s.the weights.to optim.ze the perform.nceof the m.P as.fine-tuning. Additionally, in this.approach, two s.parate m.P m.dels.are em.loyed. One m.Pis.dedicated to predicting degrees.of truth m.m.ers.ip, while the other m.P focus.s.on predicting degrees.offals. m.m.ers.ip. The difference between thes. m.m.ers.ips.quantifies.uncertainty, indicating the degree ofindeterm.nacy in predictions. Nowcas.ing and forecas.ing s.lar irradiance are vital for the optim.l prediction of grid-connected s.lar photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Thes. plants.face operational challenges.and s.heduling dis.atch difficulties.due to the fluctuating nature of their power output. As.the generation capacity within the electric grid increas.s. accurately predicting this.output becom.s.increas.ngly es.ential, es.ecially given the random.and non-linear characteris.ics.of s.lar irradiance under variable weather conditions. This.s.udy pres.nts.a novel prediction m.thod for s.lar irradiance, which is.directly in correlation with PV power output, targeting both s.ort-term.and m.dium.term.forecas. horizons. Our propos.d hybrid fram.work em.loys.a fas. trainable s.atis.ical learning technique bas.d on the truncated-regularized kernel ridge regres.ion m.del. The propos.d m.thod excels.in forecas.ing s.lar irradiance, es.ecially during highly interm.ttent weather periods. A key s.rength of our m.del is.the incorporation of m.ltiple his.orical weather param.ters.as.inputs.to generate accurate predictions.of future s.lar irradiance values.in its.s.alable fram.work. We evaluated the perform.nce of our m.del us.ng data s.ts.from.both cloudy and s.nny days.in s.attle and m.dford, Us. and com.ared it agains. three forecas.ing m.dels. pers.s.ence, m.dified 24-hour pers.s.ence and leas. s.uares. Bas.d on three widely accepted s.atis.ical perform.nce m.trics.(root m.an s.uared error, m.an abs.lute error and coefficient of determ.nation), our hybrid m.del dem.ns.rated s.perior predictive accuracy in varying weather conditions.and forecas. horizons.
