The ma.n theme is.to eva.ua.e the effects.of Nd：Ya. la.0}r bea. power bes.des.work piece s.a.ning s.eed. For a.proxima.e cutting depth, a.theoretica. s.udy is.conducted in terms.of ma.eria. property a.d cutting s.eed. Res.lts.s.ow a.nonlinea. rela.ion between the cutting depth a.d input energy. There is.no s.gnifica.t effect of s.eed on cutting depth with the s.eed being la.ger tha. 30 mm/s. a. extra.energy is.utilized in the deep cutting. It is.inferred tha. a.0}the la.0}r power increa.0}s. cutting depth increa.0}s. The experimenta. outcomes.a.e in good a.reement with theoretica. res.lts. This.a.a.ys.s.will provide a.guideline for la.0}r-ba.0}d indus.ry to s.lect a.s.ita.le la.0}r for cutting, s.ribing, trimming, engra.ing, a.d ma.king nonmeta.lic ma.eria.s.
