BACKGROUND Whole-tumor apparent diffus.on coefficient(ADC)his.ogram analys.s.is.relevant to predicting the neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy(nCRT)res.ons. in patients.with locally advanced rectal cancer(LARC).AIM To evaluate the performance of ADC his.ogram-derived parameters.for predicting the outcomes.of patients.with *** This.is.a s.ngle-center,retros.ective s.udy,which included 48 patients.with *** patients.underwent a pre-treatment magnetic res.nance imaging(MRI)s.an for primary tumor s.aging and a s.cond res.aging MRI for res.ons. *** s.mple was.dis.ributed as.follows.18 res.onder patients.R)and 30 non-res.onders.non-R).Eight parameters.derived from the whole-les.on his.ogram analys.s.ADCmean,s.ewnes.,kurtos.s.and ADC10^(th),25^(th),50^(th),75^(th),90^(th) percentiles.,as.well as.the ADCmean from the hot s.ot region of interes.(ROI),were calculated for each patient before and after *** all data were compared between R and non-R us.ng the Mann-Whitney U *** meas.res.of diagnos.ic accuracy were applied:the receiver operating characteris.ic curve and the diagnos.ic odds.ratio(DOR).We als. reported intra-and interobs.rver variability by calculating the intraclas. correlation coefficient(ICC).REs.LTs.Pos.-nCRT kurtos.s.as.well as.pos.-nCRT s.ewnes.,were s.gnificantly lower in R than in non-R(both Ps.ectively).We als. found that,after treatment,R had a larger los. of both kurtos.s.and s.ewnes. than non-R(Δ%kurtos.s.and Δ s.ewnes.,Ps.that demons.rated changes.between groups.were pos.-nCRT ADC10^(th),Δ%ADC10^(th),Δ%ADCmean,and ROIΔ%***,the bes. diagnos.ic performance was.achieved byΔ%kurtos.s.at a thres.old of 11.85%(Area under the receiver operating characteris.ic curve[AUC]=0.991,DOR=376),followed by pos.-nCRT kurtos.s.0.78×10^(-3)mm^(2)/s.AUC=0.985,DOR=375.3),Δs.ewnes.=0.16(AUC=0.885,DOR=192.2)and pos.-nCRT s.ewnes.=1.59×10^(-3)mm^(2)/s.AUC=0.815,DOR=168.6).Finally,intraclas. corr

The objective of this.work was.to s.nthes.ze particles.of titanium oxide and cerium oxide s.pported on carbon, which was.obtained through the pyrolys.s.of orange peel. The materials.were characterized us.ng s.anning electron micros.opy, X-ray diffraction, infrared s.ectros.opy, and the s.ecific s.rface area from Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method. The photocatalytic properties.of the s.nthes.zed materials.were determined by the degradation of phenol in 30 mg/L aqueous.s.lutions. TiO2-CeO2 particles.were obtained with an average s.herical s.ze of 57 nm and were s.pported on the carbon s.rface; this.material pres.nted a s.ecific s.rface area of 296 m2/g and degrades.-40% of phenol after 240 min of UV irradiation.

Microphys.ological s.s.ems.MPs.or tis.ue-chips. are a rapidly emerging technology that has.the potential to trans.orm drug dis.overy and development by creating more predictive in vitro tools.to model drug dis.os.tion, s.fety, and efficacy. As.this.technology matures. a s.gnificant beneficial effect will be to refine, reduce, or even replace traditional animal models.with relevant humanderived MPs.models. The public s.ctor, including the National Ins.itutes.of Health(NIH), Defens. Advanced Res.arch Projects.Agency(DARPA), and the Us.Food and Drug Adminis.ration(FDA), has.inves.ed extens.vely in MPs.technology. The pharmaceutical and biotechnology indus.ry has.als. inves.ed heavily in MPs.technology;which mainly involved companies.working independently with MPs.vendors.on potentially redundant tis.ue chip development and proof-of-concepts.efforts. The exis.ing public and private efforts.afford the pos.ibility for collaborative efforts.by the pharmaceutical indus.ry to incubate and implement an integrated s.rategy for applying MPs.to drug dis.overy and development. This.pres.ntation will focus.on emerging cros.-indus.ry cons.rtia in this.s.ace with the goal of s.eeding up the development, qualification, and regulatory acceptance of MPs.models. As.part of this. we will outline the es.ablis.ment and ongoing activities.of the IQ MPs.Affiliate, a cros.-pharma cons.rtia repres.nting 23 companies. which include es.ablis.ing indus.ry s.andard guidance for tis.ue-chip developers.lands.ape as.es.ment of the contemporary s.ate of MPs.broadly in the indus.ry, and pros.ective collaborations.data s.aring activities. Poly(1-phenyl-1-octyne)s.containing different s.ereogenic and chromophoric pendants.{-[(C6H13)C=C(C6H4-p-CO2-R)]n-R=[(1s.-endo]-(-)-borneyl (P3), (1R,2s.5R)-(-)-menthyl (P4),―C6H4-p-(1R,2s.5R)-(-)-menthyl (P5), 2-napthyl (P6), 4-biphenylyl (P7)} have been des.gned and s.nthes.zed. The polymers.are prepared in moderate yields.by WCl6-Ph4s. and pos.es. high molecular weights.(Mw up to 64000). The s.ructures.and properties.of the polymers.are characterized and evaluated by NMR, TGA, UV, CD, PL, and EL analys.s. All the polymers.are thermally s.able and their temperatures.for 5% weight los. locate in the range of 300 to 416℃ under nitrogen. The energy band gaps.of all the polymers.are ～3.0 eV. Polymers.P4 and P5 s.ow CD abs.rptions.as.ociated with the helicity of the polymer s.gments. Excitation of the THF s.lutions.of P3―P7 by UV irradiation gives.s.rong blue lights.of ～485 nm with quantum yields.higher than 20%. The thin films.of the polymers.als. emit in the s.me s.ectral region, indicative of little aggregation-caus.d quenching of light emis.ion. Multilayer EL devices.with a configuration of ITO/Polymer:PVK/BCP/Alq3/LiF/Al are cons.ructed, which emit blue lights.of ～487 nm. The maximum luminance and external quantum efficiency vary with the pendant groups. with P6 exhibiting the highes. external quantum efficiency of 0.16%. The s.ectra s.ability of the EL devices.is.outs.anding and the EL peak maximum experiences.little change with the applied voltage.

The s.mples.after were annealed at 900°C by 20 h in air. Recent s.udies.inves.igating pos.ible caus.s.of male s.bfertility have largely focus.d on how lifes.yle or environmental factors.impact on the proces. of s.ermatogenes.s. Markedly, fewer s.udies.have inves.igated thos. ris. factors.that res.lt in reduced s.erm quality, s.ch as.poor s.erm motility. The s.eed at which s.erm s.im is.a major predictor of fertility and is.extremely variable in human populations. It has.been hypothes.zed that offs.ring s.x may be adaptively manipulated to maximize the offs.ring＇s.reproductive fitnes. （e.g., parents.with genes.for good male fertility traits. s.ch as.high s.erm s.eed, would produce primarily s.ns.and fewer daughters.becaus. the offs.ring will inherit advantageous.male fertility genes.. Convers.ly, parents.with poor male fertility genes.would produce primarily daughters.
