Although the s.andard treatment for Kawas.ki dis.as.(KD)is.intravenous.immunoglobulin(IVIG)combined with oral as.irin,18%of 1s. IVIG is.refractory[1].Recently,the efficacy of immunomodulatory drugs.for IVIG-res.s.ant KD,s.ch as.prednis.lone,infliximab(IFX),and cyclos.orine(Cs.),has.been reported[2-5].However,optimal immunomodulatory therapy for IVIG-res.s.ant KD has.not yet been es.ablis.ed.

There are various.types.of trans.ortation s.s.ems.in the world and each of them is.dependent on the characteris.ics.of its.own s.ciety, s.ch as.people, culture, economical s.atus. etc. This.fact makes.evaluation proces. of each s.s.em quite difficult. There cannot exis. any global s.andard. Therefore, in the proces. of des.gning and implementing a new s.s.em, we s.ould inves.igate not only the pres.nt s.ate-of-arts.of the s.s.ems.but als. background of the s.ciety. This.pres.ntation is.to illus.rate s.me s.ate-of-art examples.of s. called Intelligent Trans.ortation s.s.ems.for road traffic implemented ill Japan together with their background. s.nce 1960’s. various.traffic control and s.rveillance s.s.ems.have been operated in many places.in the world. The Hans.in Expres.way Public Corporation, Os.ka, Japan has.been keeping high reputation of its.traffic control s.s.em. It has.als. advanced maintenance s.s.em of the entire hardware s.s.em of the Corporation us.ng AHP. The ultras.nic wave velocities.of Japanes. cedar columns.were meas.red us.ng a non-contact method. An air-coupled ultras.nic wave was.propagated through the axial and lateral directions.of wood. The velocities.in the axial direction (Vs.b>Ls.b>) s.owed the minimum values.around the pith. The averaged Vs.b>Ls.b> increas.d from 3600 m/s.towards.the outs.de of meas.rement area and attained the maximum values.(=4010 m/s.. The velocities.in the lateral direction (Vs.b>RT s.b>) s.owed no tendency among meas.rement points. The averaged Vs.b>RT s.b> was.1450 m/s. The velocities.obtained us.ng the non-contact method s.owed a s.gnificant pos.tive relations.ip with thos. obtained us.ng the contact method. The averaged ratio of Vs.b>Ls.b> to Vs.b>RT s.b> was.meas.red to be approximately 2.2 to 2.8. Thes. ratios.were in agreement with thos. from a contact method. Thes. findings.s.gges. that it is.pos.ible to meas.re the velocity in Japanes. cedar columns.with the non-contact method by us.ng air-coupled ultras.nics.

In order to inves.igate the relations.ip between res.enos.s.and the morphology detected by coronary angios.opy （CAs.） and introvas.ular ultras.und imaging （IVUs.,17 patients.were detected by CAs. and IVUs.immediately and 3 months.after percutaneous.trans.uminai coronary angios.opy （PTCA）.The res.lts.s.owed that the dilation index by IVUs.（Dlu） was.s.gnificantly lower in res.enos.s.patients.than in non-res.enos.s.patients.（0.42±0.08 vers.s.0.78±0.16, Ps.ic recoil （ER） was.higher in res.enos.s.patients.than in non-res.enos.s.patients.（4.51±1.42mmvers.s.1.63±1.20 mm, Ps.ic recoil rate （ERR） was.als. higher in res.enos.s.patients.than in non-res.enos.s.patients.（57.3±8.07% venus.21.80±16.84% Ps.ection,atheromatous.plaque and calcification as.well as.the coiour of inner coronary artery had no relation with chronic *** conclus.on,the elas.ic recoil is.one of the important factors.of chronic res.cnos.s.after PTCA.

The interaction of s.il aggregate dynamics.with s.il organic carbon is.complex with varied s.atio-temporal proces.es.in macro-and micro-aggregates. This.paper is.to determine the aggregation of s.il aggregates.in purple s.ils.（Regos.ls.in FAO Taxonomy or Entis.ls.in Us.A Taxonomy） for four types.of land us., cropland [corn （Zea mays.L.）], orchard （citrus., fores.land （bamboo or cypres.）, and barren land （wild gras.）, and to explore their relations.ip with s.il organic carbon in the s.chuan bas.n of s.uthwes.ern China. Procedures.and methods. including manual dry s.eving procedure, Yoder＇s.wet s.eving procedure, pyrophos.hates.s.lution method, and Kachis.y method, are us.d to acquire dry, wet, and chemically s.able aggregates. and microaggregates. Light and heavy fractions.of s.il organic carbon were s.parated us.ng 2.0 g·mL^-1 HgI2-KI mixed s.lution. The loos.ly, s.ably, and tightly combined organic carbon in heavy fraction were s.parated by extraction with 0.1 M NaOH and 0.1 M NaOH-0.1M Na4P2O7 mixed s.lution （pH 13）. The res.lts.s.ow that the contents.of dry and wet macroaggregates.〉0.25 mm in diameter were 974.1 and 900.0 g·kg^-1 highes. in red brown purple s.ils.under fores.land, while 889.6 and 350.6 g·kg^-1 lowes. in dark purple s.il and lowes. in grey brown purple s.ils.under cropland, res.ectively. The chemical s.ability of macroaggregates.was.lowes. in grey brown purple s.il with 8.47% under cropland, and highes. in red brown purple s.il with 69.34% under barren land. The content of microaggregates.in dark purple s.ils.was.587g·kg^-1 higher than brown purple s.ils. while 655g·kg^-1 in red brown purple s.ils.was.s.milar to grey brown purple s.ils.（651g·kg^-1）. Cropland conditions. only 38.4% of organic carbon was.of the combined form, and 61.6% of that exis.ed in light fraction. Fores.land conditions. 90.7% of organic carbon in red brown purple s.il was.complexed with minerals.as.a form of humic s.bs.ances. The contents.and s.ability of wet aggregates.〉 0.25

Background: No s.lution has.yet been found for the nutritional is.ues.of Parkins.n’s.dis.as. (PD) patients.with weight los., which affects.their prognos.s. The objective of the pres.nt s.udy was.to inves.igate whether a defined-formula diet rich in ω3 fatty acids.improved nutrition through the effect of ghrelin in PD patients.with weight los.. Method: Weight, s.rum total protein, albumin, lipids. s.rum ghrelin, s.rum acylghrelin, leptin, and the Unified Parkins.n’s.Dis.as. Rating s.ale were monitored for approximately 3 months.in 11 s.bjects.given a defined-formula diet rich in ω3 fatty acids.for 3 months.and 5 control s.bjects.who received no s.ch treatment. Res.lts. No s.gnificant changes.from bas.line in s.rum ghrelin, acylghrelin, and leptin levels.were noted after adminis.ration of the nutritional product. Meanwhile, compared with the control, changes.from bas.line in the levels.of albumin and weight were s.gnificant after the nutritional therapy rich in ω3 fatty acids.(P s.on: Adminis.ration of a medium-chain fatty acid-rich product has.few effects.on motor functions.and activities.of daily living in PD patients.with weight los., but it is.expected to offer effective ghrelin-mediated nutritional improvement.

Background: s.reptococcus.pyogenes.s.cretes.NAD+ glycohydrolas. (NADas., als. known as.s.N or Nga). All s. pyogenes.s.rains.examined to date pos.es. the gene that encodes.s.N (s.n), but s.me s.rains.produce s.N that lacks.detectable NADas. activity. Although there is.much evidence to s.pport that s.N’s.NADas. activity contributes.to virulence, there is.very little evidence that NADas.-inactive s.N has.detectable functions. Res.lts. In order to characterize the NADas.-inactive s.N, we firs.ly attempted to clone the NADas.-inactive s.n allele in Es.herichia coli. Although we obtained recombinants.which were s.own to have the correct s.ze ins.rt, all had s.me mutations.in the s.n allele. Therefore, we attempted to change the mutated nucleotides.back to the original nucleotides. While a nucleotide mutagenes.s.(invers. PCR method) eas.ly changed a target nucleotide of control genes.back to the original nucleotides. the mutations.of NADas.-inactive s.n allele were never s.cces.fully converted back to the original nucleotides. Finally the mutant s.n alleles.were s.b-cloned into another vector (pLZ12-Km2), which is.maintained in both E. coli and s. pyogenes. The res.ltant plas.ids.were s.bjected to nucleotide mutagenes.s.us.ng invers. PCR;the res.ltant mutagenized plas.id DNAs.were us.d to trans.orm both E. coli and s. pyogenes.s.rains. We obs.rved s.cces.ful nucleotide s.bs.itutions.back to the original s.n nucleotide s.quence in s. pyogenes.trans.ormants. but not in E. coli trans.ormants. Thus. the NADas.-inactive s.n allele was.s.cces.fully cloned in s. pyogenes. but not in E. coli. However, we could not find an as.ociation with NADas.-inactive s.n allele and virulence in a mous. infection model. Conclus.ons. Thes. res.lts.s.gges. that NADas.-inactive s.n allele has.s.me toxic effect to E. coli, but not s. pyogenes. This.effect may due to an as.of yet unknown function attributable to NADas.-inactive s.N.

Aroma Profile of Myrrh and Its.Thermal Variation

The authors.examined the thermal change in the aroma profile of myrrh. The fres. odor of raw myrrh and its.hexane extract depended on the amount of （E）-13-ocimene. Myrrh was.extracted with hexane to avoid inducing changes.in the cons.ituents.and odor. The main cons.ituent, （E）-L3-ocimene （group A; low boiling point）, and the other cons.ituents.（group B; high boiling point） of the hexane extract were s.parated by bulb-to-bulb dis.illation. The cons.ituents.of groups.A and B were analyzed over time by nuclear magnetic res.nance analys.s.and the odors.were evaluated. Myrrh＇s.odor depended on both the amount of thermally uns.able （E）-[3-ocimene, which contributed to the fres. odor, and the cons.ituents.of group B （thermally s.able）, which contributed to the myrrh-like odor. s.x compounds.（c^-s.ntalene, （Z）-a-bis.bolene, c^-bergamotene, （E）-ct-s.ntalal, c^-photos.ntalol and campherenol） were is.lated from group B. No individual group B component had a myrrh-like odor, although the combined odor of group B was.myrrh like. The authors.demons.rated that the aroma profile of myrrh depends.on the thermal ins.ability of （E）-^-ocimene and a combination of s.x thermally s.able terpenes.with s.milar molecular s.ructures.
