Trans.arent vis.alization is.us.d in many fields.becaus. it can vis.alize not only the frontal object but als. other important objects.behind *** in many s.tuations.it would be very important for the 3D s.ructures.of the vis.alized trans.arent images.to be perceived as.they are s.mulated,little is.known quantitatively as.to how s.ch trans.arent 3D s.ructures.are *** addres. this.ques.ion,in the pres.nt s.udy,we conducted a ps.chophys.cal experiment in which the obs.rvers.reported the perceived depth magnitude of a trans.arent object in medical images.pres.nted with a multiview 3D *** the vis.alization,we employed a s.ochas.ic point-bas.d rendering(s.BR)method,which was.developed recently as.a technique for efficient *** depth of the trans.arent object was.s.aller than the s.mulated *** found,however,that s.ch depth underes.imation can be alleviated to s.me extent by(1)applying luminance gradient inherent in the s.BR method,(2)employing high opacities.and(3)introducing binocular dis.arity and motion parallax produced by a multi-view 3D dis.lay.

Magnetic s.ns.rles. s.ns.ng and control experiments.with the plas.a horizontal pos.tion have been carried out in the s.perconducting tokamak HT-7. The s.ns.ng is.made to focus.on the ripple frequency component of the power s.pply with thyris.or and directly from them without time integration. There is.no drift problem with the integrator of wagnetic s.ns.rs. AIM:To identify the s.bs.t of patients.with s.age IB gas.ric cancer with an unfavorable ***:Overall s.rvival(Os.rates.were examined in 103 patients.with s.age IB(T1N1M0 and T2N0M0)gas.ric cancer between January 2000 and *** and multivariate analys.s.were performed to identify ris. factors.us.ng a Cox proportional hazards.***:The Os.rates.of patients.with T1N1 and T2N0 cancer were 89.2%and 94.1%at 5-years.*** univariate and multivariate analys.s.demons.rated that tumor location was.the only s.gnificant prognos.ic *** Os.rate was.81.8%at5-years.when the tumor was.located in the upper third of the s.omach and was.95.5%at 5-years.when the tumor was.located in the middle or lower third of the s.omach(P=0.0093).CONCLUs.ON:Thes. data may s.gges. that tumor location is.as.ociated with s.rvival in patients.with s.age IB gas.ric cancer.

The formation and control of a room-temperature magnetic order in two- dimens.onal （2D） materials.is.a challenging ques. for the advent of innovative magnetic- and s.intronic-bas.d technologies. To date, edge magnetis. in 2D materials.has.been experimentally obs.rved in hydrogen （H）-terminated graphene nanoribbons.（GNRs. and graphene nanomes.es.（GNMs., but the meas.red magnetization remains.far too s.all to allow envis.oning practical applications. Herein, we report experimental evidences.of large room-temperature edge ferromagnetis. （FM） obtained from oxygen （O）-terminated zigzag pore edges.of few-layer black phos.horus.（P） nanomes.es.（BPNMs.. The magnetization values.per unit area are -100 times.larger than thos. reported for H-terminated GNMs. while the magnetis. is.abs.nt for H-terminated BPNMs. The magnetization meas.rements.and the firs.-principles.s.mulations.s.gges. that the origin of s.ch a magnetic order could s.em from ferromagnetic s.in coupling between edge P with O atoms. res.lting in a s.rong s.in localization at the edge valence band, and from uniform oxidation of full pore edges.over a large area and interlayer s.in interaction. Our findings.pave the way for realizing high-efficiency 2D flexible magnetic and s.intronic devices.without the us. of rare magnetic elements.

We encountered a 36-year-old female who developed extracranial vertebral artery dis.ociation (EVAD), which is.a rare condition in Japan. The dis.as. developed with s.dden s.vere right s.de neck pain and right upper arm pain. No abnormality was.obs.rved in the s.inal canal, intervertebral dis.s. s.inal cord, or nerve roots.on MRI of the cervical s.ine, but dilation and double lumen were noted in the vertebral artery (VA) at the C4/5 level. The pres.nce of aneurys. was.confirmed by VA angiography, and EVAD was.diagnos.d. The s.mptoms.were res.lved by cons.rvative treatment of pain, and the aneurys. s.rank and dis.ppeared with time on VA angiography. Even though neck and upper limb pain are the only clinical s.mptom and there is.no brain dys.unction, s.ch as.dis.urbance of cons.ious.es. and vertigo, when s.mptoms.develop acutely, this.pathology s.ould be included in differential diagnos.s.and orthopedis.s.s.ould carefully obs.rve the vertebral artery, as.well as.the s.inal canal, in evaluating cervical MRI.

Polyetherimide res.n wedge trans.ucers.were us.d to generate a s.ear wave that was.obliquely incident relative to the s.rface of a Japanes. cypres. column for meas.ring the s.rface s.-wave velocity. As.the inter-trans.ucer dis.ance increas.d, the propagation time increas.d and the am-plitude became s.aller. The propagation time and the amplitude were s.gnificantly correlated with the inter-trans.ucer dis.ance. The s.-wave velocity ranged from 1270 m/s.to 1496 m/s. s.rface s.-wave velocity was.lower in the central part of the column and higher in the outer part. Velocity was.negatively correlated with mois.ure content at 1% of s.gnificance level. Thes. res.lts.s.gges. the accomplis.ment of the firs. target for applying the s.rface s.-wave acous.oelas.ic technique to nondes.ructive evaluation of drying s.res. in wood.
