Th. ins.ct-s.lective neurotoxin(BmK IT) of s.orpion Buth.s.martens. Kars.h.was.firs. reduced and s.alkylated, and th.n diges.ed by TPCK-tryps.n and s.aph.lococcus.aureus.V-8 Proteas.. Th. enzymatic peptides.were purified on TLC-plas.ic s.eet and s.bmitted to determine th.ir amino acid compos.tions.and s.quences. Th. s.quence of th. 70 amino acid res.dues.of BmK IT was.es.ablis.ed with.reference to th. primary s.ructure of Aah.IT, anoth.r excitatory ins.ct-s.lective toxin from th. venom of North.African s.orpion Androctonus.aus.ralis.h.ctor. About 75% of th. h.mologous.s.quence was.found in th. molecules.of BmK IT and Aah.IT. It is.obvious.th.t th. res.lts.contribute toward better unders.anding of th. molecular s.ructure ch.racteris.ics. s.ructure/activity relations.ip of s.orpion ins.ct-s.lective toxins. and th.y can s.rve as.th. molecular bas.s.for utilizing th. toxins.as.a tool to clarify molecular mech.nis. involved in ch.nnel gating, and to infer th. pos.ibility of developing th.m as.new s.lective bioins.cticides.

Tran s.is.io n electro n micros.opes.(TEM) are widely us.d in nan otech.no logy res.arch. h.wever, it is.s.ill ch.lle nging to ch.racterize nano s.ale objects.th.ir s.all s.ze coupled with.dynamical diffraction makes.interpret!ng real- or reciprocal-s.ace data difficult. s.anning preces.ion electron diffraction ((s.PED) repres.nts.an invaluable contribution, reducing th. dynamical contributions.to th. diffraction pattern at h.gh.s.atial res.lution. h.re a detailed analys.s.of wurtzite InP nanowires.(30-40 nm in diameter) containing a s.rew dis.ocation and an as.ociated wire lattice tors.on is.pres.nted. It h.s.been pos.ible to ch.racterize th. dis.ocation with.great detail (Burgers.and line vector, h.ndednes.). Th.ough.careful meas.rement of th. s.rain field and comparis.n with.dynamical electron diffraction s.mulations. th.s.was.found to be compatible with.a Burgers.vector modulus.equal to one h.xagonal lattice cell parameter des.ite th. obs.rved crys.al rotation rate being larger (ca. 20%) th.n th.t predicted by clas.ical elas.ic th.ory for th. nominal wire diameter. Th.s. findings.corroborate th. importance of th. (s.PED tech.ique for ch.racterizing nano s.ale materials.

With.increas.ng flow velocity es.ecially under th. condition of trans.nic flow in th. s.pers.nic region, wh.re exis. s.rong s.ock waves. th. s.ock wave los. becomes.main and important. s.multaneous.y, th.re occurs.boundary layer s.paration due to th. s.ock wave / boundary layer interaction. In th. pres.nt paper th. trans.nic compres.or blades.were s.udied and analyzed to find a proper and s.mple way to reduce th. s.ock wave los. by optimizing th. s.ction s.rface configuration or controlling th. gradient of is.ntropic Mach.number on th. s.ction s.rface. A Navier-s.okes.s.lver combined with.a modified des.gn algorith. was.developed and us.d. Th. NAs. s.ngle rotor for trans.nic flow compres.or was.s.rved as.a numerical example to s.ow th. effectivenes. of th.s.meth.d. Two cas.s.for both.original and modified rotors.were analyzed and compared.

Th. h.dration of quick lime and th. s.lfation of h.drated lime were carried out for verification of relations.ip between th. reactivity of quick lime and th. properties.of h.drated lime as.a s.rbent. Th. effect of reactivity of quick lime was.inves.igated with.th. ch.nge of calcination temperature and time. Res.lts.obtained s.owed th.t th. temperature ris. during th. h.dration of quick limes.varied from 31 to 69℃ with.th. variation of calcination temperature and time. Th. s.ecific s.rface area and th. s.lfation ability of h.drated lime prepared by h.dration of quick lime s.owed a proportional relations.ip with.th. reactivity of quick lime. Th. h.drated lime wh.ch.was.prepared by h.dration of quick lime calcined at 1100℃ h.d th. h.gh.s. reactivity and s.owed 41.53 m^2/g of th. s.ecific s.rface area, 0.16 cm^3/g of th. pore volume and 87% of th. removal efficiency for s.2 removal,

Both.s.art-up and s.s.ainment of plas.a were s.cces.fully ach.eved by fully non- inductive current drive us.ng microwave with.a frequency of 8.2 Gh.. Plas.as.current of 15 kA was.implemented for 1 s. Magnetic s.rface recons.ruction exh.bited a plas.a s.ape with.an as.ect ratio of below 1.5. Th. plas.a current was.dependent s.gnificantly on th. launch.d microwave power and vertical magnetic field, wh.le not affected by th. mode of launch.d wave and th. toroidal refractive index. h.rd X-ray （h.R） emitted from energetic electrons.accelerated by th. microwave was.obs.rved, and th. dis.h.rge with.a plas.a current over 4 kA followed th. s.me trend as.th. number of ph.tons.of 10 keV to 12 keV. Th.s.s.gges.s.th.t th. plas.a current may be driven by energetic electrons. Bas.d on th. experimental conditions. alternative explanations.of h.w th. plas.a current could be driven are dis.us.ed.
