This.work s.ows.that des.ite a lattice mis.atch of.almos. 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heteros.ructures.grown directly on s.(111) have s.rpris.ngly good optical emis.ion properties. The inves.igated s.ructures.were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by s.anning trans.is.ion electron micros.opy, macro-and micro-photolumines.ence. Low temperature macro-photolumines.ence experiments.indicate three emis.ion bands.which depend on the CdTe layer thicknes. and have dif.erent conf.nement characteris.ics. Temperature meas.rements.reveal that the lower energy emis.ion band (at 1.48 eV)is.as.ociated to def.cts.and bound exciton s.ates. while the main emis.ion at 1.61 eV has.a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has.a well-def.ned (zero-dimens.onal, 0D) 0D nature. Micro-photolumines.ence meas.rements.s.ow the exis.ence of.s.arp and s.rongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emis.ion lines.which can be related to the pres.nce of.Mn in the heteros.ructure. This.res.lt opens.the pos.ibility of.producing photon s.urces.with the typical s.in control of.the diluted magnetic s.miconductors.us.ng the low-cos. s.licon technology.

The purpos. of.this.paper is.to make a contribution to the us. of.diatomite as.a mineral additive in the compos.tion of.compres.ed earth blocks. The aim is.to s.udy the inf.uence of.diatomite on the hygrothermal behaviour of.compos.tes.bas.d on clay s.ils. f.r this.reas.n, two clay s.ils.with dif.erent phys.cochemical and mineralogical compos.tions.were incorporated with diatomite at percentages.ranging f.om 5% to 50% with a s.ep of.5 to produce compres.ed earth blocks. Af.er as.es.ing the hydric and thermal characteris.ics.of.the compos.tes. it was.f.und that the incorporation of.diatomite into the clay matrix f.vours.the abs.rption of.water by capillary action f.r all the compos.tes. The diatomite-amended blocks.s.bjected to the rain eros.on tes. were les. eroded than the unamended blocks. In addition, BYD compos.tes.were f.und to be more res.s.ant than BTD compos.tes. due to the high percentage of.clay in T s.il. The thermal conductivity of.the latter decreas.s.res.ectively f.om 0.72 to 0.29 W/m∙K f.r BTD compos.tes.and f.om 0.52 to 0.21 W/m∙K f.r BYD compos.tes. This.reduction proves.the thermal ins.lating properties.of.diatomite. Des.ite the high capillary abs.rption capacity of.thes. compos.tes. they have good thermal properties. enabling them to be us.d in the cons.ruction of.buildings.f.r improved indoor thermal comf.rt.

This.development has.introduced new cyber-s.curity challenges.f.r the s.art Grid and is.a very concerning is.ue becaus. of.emerging cyber-threats.and s.curity incidents.that have occurred recently all over the world. The purpos. of.this.res.arch is.to detect and mitigate Dis.ributed Denial of.s.rvice [DDos. with application to the Electrical s.art Grid s.s.em by deploying an optimized s.ealthwatch s.cure Network analytics.tool. In this.paper, the DDos.attack in the s.art Grid communication networks.was.modeled us.ng s.ealthwatch tool. The s.mulated network cons.s.ed of.s.cure Network Analytic tools.virtual machines.(VMs., electrical Grid network communication topology, attackers.and Target VMs. f.nally, the experiments.and s.mulations.were perf.rmed, and the res.arch res.lts.s.owed that s.ealthwatch analytic tool is.very ef.ective in detecting and mitigating DDos.attacks.in the s.art Grid s.s.em without caus.ng any blackout or s.utdown of.any internal s.s.ems.as.compared to other tools.s.ch as.GNs., Nes.i2, NIs.T f.amework, OMNeT++, INET f.amework, Reas., Ns., Ns., M5 s.mulator, OPNET, PLC & TIA Portal management s.f.ware which do not have the capability to do s.. Als., us.ng s.ealthwatch tool to create a s.curity bas.line f.r s.art Grid environment, contributes.to ris. mitigation and s.und s.curity hygiene.
