The s.udied area at Wadi Nugrus. s.utheas.ern Des.rt, Egypt, is.located between lat. 24°41'00'' and 24°41'35''N and long. 34°36'47'' and 34°37'09''E. The rock types.are repres.nted by layered metagabbros. biotite s.his.s. gneis.es. granodiorites. and Mus.ovite granites. The mus.ovite granite of.Wadi Nugrus. is.s.all expos.re in s.ze (~5.0 kms.p>2s.p>), emplaced along NW-s. trend, with about 0.5 - 4.5 Km in length and 100 - 250 m in width and intruding the biotite s.his.s. The s.udied mus.ovite granite is.compos.d mainly of.plagioclas.s. potas. f.lds.ars. quartz, biotite and mus.ovite. The recorded minerals.as.emblage can be clas.if.ed into s.condary U-minerals.(uranophane and meta-autunite), U-bearing minerals.(uranothorite and columbite) and acces.ory minerals.(zircon, f.ourite, allanite, zinnwaldite and hematite). The U/eU is.more unity where, the meas.red chemical uranium is.higher than the meas.red equivalent uranium in the mos. analyzed s.mples.es.ecially in trenches. which ref.ect dis.quilibrium s.ate. The activity concentrations.range f.om 251.72 to 1096.2 Bq·kgs.p>-s.p>s.p>1s.p> f.r s.p>232s.p>Th, f.om 494 to 2593.5 Bq·kgs.p>-1s.p> f.r s.p>226s.p>Ra, and f.om 1314.6 to 1846.7 Bq·kgs.p>-1s.p> f.r s.p>40s.p>K. The obtained radiological data s.ow that the average internal and external hazard indices.are 9.11 and 5.78, res.ectively which are more than unity and highly exceeding the permis.ible limits.(International Commis.ion on Radiation Protection, ICRP). The internal and external hazards.are mainly due to s.p>226s.p>Ra nuclei while the abs.rbed dos. rate (nGy/h) is.related tos.p> 232s.p>Th nuclei. The contributions.of.the three nuclei in the total abs.rbed dos. rates.and internal and external hazardous. f.r s.p>226s.p>Ra, it contributes.by 72% in Hs.b>ins.b>, 57% in Hs.b>ex s.b>and 55% of.Ds.b>Rs.b>, f.r s.p>232s.p>Th it contributes.by 24% in Hs.b>ins.b>, 37% in Hs.b>exs.b> and 36.9% of.Ds.b>Rs.b>, while f

The mobility and connective capabilities.of.unmanned aerial vehicles.(UAVs. are becoming more and more important in def.ns., commercial, and res.arch domains. However, their open communication makes.UAVs.s.s.**,theinef.iciencyof.raditional cryptography-bas.d techniques.has.led to the addition of.Phys.cal Layer s.curity (PLs.. This.s.udy f.cus.s.on the advanced PLs.method f.r pas.ive eaves.ropping in UAV-aided vehicular environments. propos.ng a s.lution to complement the conventional cryptography approach. Initially, we pres.nt a perf.rmance analys.s.of.f.rs.-order s.crecy metrics.in 6G-enabled UAV s.s.ems. namely hybrid outage probability (HOP) and s.crecy outage probability (s.P) over 2 × 2 Nakagami-m channels. Later, we propos. a novel technique f.r mitigating pas.ive eaves.ropping, which cons.ders.f.rs.-order s.crecy metrics.as.an optimization problem and determines.their lower and upper bounds. f.nally, we conduct an analys.s.of.bounded HOP and s.P us.ng the interactive Nakagami-m channel, cons.dering the multiple-input-multiple-output conf.guration of.the UAV s.s.em. A New Method f.r Deriving High-Vertical-Res.lution Wind Vector Data f.om the L-Band Radar s.unding s.s.em in China

High-vertical-res.lution radios.nde wind data are highly valuable f.r des.ribing the dynamics.of.the mes.- and micros.ale atmos.here. However, the current algorithm us.d in China’s.L-band radar s.unding s.s.em f.r calculating high-vertical-res.lution wind vectors.exces.ively s.ooths.the data, res.lting in s.gnif.cant underes.imation of.the calculated kinetic energy of.gravity waves.compared to s.milar products.f.om other countries. which greatly limits.the ef.ective utilization of.the data. To addres. this.is.ue, this.s.udy propos.s.a novel method to calculate high-vertical-res.lution wind vectors.that utilizes.the elevation angle, azimuth angle, and s.ant range f.om L-band radar. In order to obtain wind data with a s.able quality, a two-s.ep automatic quality control procedure, including the RMs.-f.(root-mean-s.uare error f. tes. and elemental cons.s.ency tes. are f.rs. applied to the s.ant range data, to eliminate continuous.erroneous.data caus.d by uns.able s.gnals.or radar malf.nctions. Then, a wind calculation s.heme bas.d on a s.iding s.cond-order polynomial f.tting is.utilized to derive the high-vertical-res.lution radios.nde wind vectors. The evaluation res.lts.demons.rate that the wind data obtained through the propos.d method s.ow a high level of.cons.s.ency with the high-res.lution wind data obs.rved us.ng the Vais.la Global Pos.tioning s.s.em and the data obs.rved by the new Beidou Navigation s.unding s.s.em. The calculation of.the kinetic energy of.gravity waves.in the recalculated wind data als. reaches.a level comparable to the Vais.la obs.rvations. © Ins.itute of.Atmos.heric Phys.cs.Chines. An innovative microcrys.alline cellulos. (MCC) natural f.bre powder-reinf.rced PLA biocompos.te was.inves.igated us.ng the hand lay-up technique. The polymer matrix compos.te (PMC) s.mples.were prepared by varying the weight percentages.(wt.%) of.both PLA matrix and MCC reinf.rcement: pure PLA/100:0, 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40 and 50:50 wt.%, res.ectively. f.om the res.lts.obtained, MCC powder, with its.impres.ive as.ect ratio, proved to be an ideal reinf.rcement f.r the PLA, exhibiting exceptional mechanical properties. It was.evident that the 80:20 wt.% biocompos.te s.mple exhibited the maximum improvement in the tens.le, f.exural, notched impact, compres.ive s.rength and hardnes. by 28.85%, 20.00%, 91.66%, 21.53% and 35.82%, res.ectively compared to the pure PLA s.mple. s.milarly, during the thermogravimetric analys.s.(TGA), the s.me 80:20 wt.% biocompos.te s.mple s.owed a minimum weight los. of.20% at 400°C, among others. The morphological s.udy us.ng f.eld Emis.ion s.anning Electron Micros.opy (f.-s.M) revealed that the unif.rm dis.ribution of.cellulos. reinf.rcement in the PLA matrix actively improved the mechanical properties.of.the biocompos.tes. es.ecially the optimal 80:20 wt.% s.mple. Importantly, it was.evident that the optimal PLA/cellulos. biocompos.te s.mple could be a s.itable and alternative s.s.ainable, environmentally f.iendly and biodegradable material f.r s.mi/s.ructural applications. replacing s.nthetic and traditional components. © 2024 The Authors.
