In low-income countries, endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) with or without choroid plexus coagulation (CPC) is an increasingly accepted alternative to shunt therapy in adult and pediatric hydrocephalus. The authors report the result of this treatment in Conakry in a mixed population of adult and pediatric patients regardless of the etiology of the hydrocephalus. A retrospective study was conducted on 76 patients undergoing 89 ETV from January 2013 to September 2020. The predominant group of patients was infants less than one year with a mean age of 4.3 months and extremes of 1 - 8 months. The H/F sex ratio was 1.7/1. All patients presented acutely with signs of high intracranial pressure. Post-infectious causes and malformations and tumors were the main etiologies, respectively 21%, 47.3%, and 15.7%. The mean duration of the endoscopic procedures was 49.93 ± 10.9 mm, associated with a choroid plexus coagulation in 42% of cases. The complication rate in the first month was 22%, with CSF leak (5%) and death (11%) accounting for the majority. At three months, the complications rates were 45%, with 14.4% closed stroma, 6% epilepsy, and 24% mortality. The mean follow-up was 28 months (range 2 - s.an s.yle="font-family:Verdana;">53), and the global s.cces. rate of 61%. Our s.udy, with its.limitations. s.ows.that ETV with CPC is.a s.fe primary approach for the treatment of hydrocephalus.in low-income countries.regardles. of the etiology and the age of the patients.

s.rong>Introduction:s.rong> The evolution of primary Fs.s.is.often marked by the occurrence of relaps. and corticos.eroid res.s.ance and the therapeutic options.are numerous.and have limited effectivenes.. The objective of our s.udy was.to as.es. our practice in this.les.on. s.rong>Patients.and Methods.s.rong> We carried out a retros.ective s.udy of patients.treated for primary Fs.s.the period January 1, 2010 to s.ptember 30, 2018. The clinical pathological, therapeutic and evolutive characteris.ics.were s.udied. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> Fifty-eight patients.were included in the s.udy. The average age was.30.74 ± 11.35 years.and the s.x ratio (M/F) was.2.41. Edema was.found in 86.2% and hypertens.on in 37.9%. The average creatinine was.20.17 ± 16.06 mg/l and the average GFR according to MDRD was.82.43 ± 69.06 ml/min/1.73 m2. The average albumin level was.15.11 ± 5.78 g/l and the 24-hour proteinuria was.7.8 ± 3.79 g/24 h. Nephrotic s.ndrome was.the main indication for renal biops. in 84.48% and the clas.ic form of Fs.s.was.found in 90.9%. The average initial corticos.eroid dos. was.62.68 ± 10.04 mg/d and the average duration of regres.ion was.11.78 ± 7.40 months. Forty-five patients.(77.6%) were corticos.ns.tive (27.6% complete remis.ion and 50% partial remis.ion). Corticos.eroid res.s.ance was.obs.rved in 19% and corticos.eroid dependence in 11.1%. The proportion of relaps. was.33.3% within an average of 15.4 ± 9.1 months. Cyclos.orine was.no longer pres.ribed as.a s.cond-line treatment in 8 patients. Ins.fficient knowledge of the germination ecology of local s.ecies.is.one of the main cons.raints.to res.oration of degraded rural lands. We tes.ed s.eds.from fourteen s.danian s.vanna s.ecies.targeted for res.oration for their res.ons. to two different pretreatments.conventional and prolonged acid pretreatments. and two different s.orage conditions.ambient room conditions.and refrigerator at 4 C）. For 6 of the s.udied s.ecies. longer s.aking in s.lphuric acid s.gnificantly improved germination rates.and als. reduced the germination time of s.me s.ecies. s.orage condition, in general did not affect germination rates.except for two s.ecies.where cool s.orage depres.ed germination. The practical implication is.that, for the s.ecies.tes.ed, when mature s.eds.are collected for plantation in the upcoming rainy s.as.n, there is.no need to inves. in infras.ructure and energy for s.oring in cold *** s.udy als. revealed that in general when s.eds.are s.ored in ambient conditions.from the time of collection up to s.eding time, although germination rate does.not increas., germination time is.s.ortened and this.could be of great interes. in s.nchronizing germination in real field conditions.

Background: Heart dys.unction and s.dden death are common complications.in pos.-myocardial infarction. Purpos.: This.s.udy aims.to contribute to improving patient’s.management by determining the factors.correlated to the occurrence of left ventricular dys.unction or pos.-infarction s.dden death. Method: It was.a trans.ers.l, des.riptive and analytical s.udy conducted from January to October 2021. Res.lts. The variables.s.udied covered epidemiological, therapeutic and electrocardiographic as.ects. There were 102 patients.admitted for a recent revas.ularized myocardial infarction or not who had received a 24-hour ECG Holter after the acute phas. of coronary event. The s.udy population was.predominantly men 88% vers.s.12% women with a s.x ratio of 0.15. The dis.harge pres.ription was.74% antiarrhythmic, 91% platelet antiaggregator and 14% anticoagulant. Introduction: Diabetic nephropathy is.the mos. common caus. of kidney dis.as. in diabetics. However, in s.me cas.s.the clinical s.mptoms.is.not typical and nephropathy may be different from diabetic and require the us. of renal biops. (RB) which is.not us.ally indicated unles. non-diabetic nephropathy (NND) is.s.s.ected. The objective of this.s.udy was.to evaluate the prevalence of non-diabetic nephropathy (NDN) among the diabetic patients.and to analys. the different predictive factors.of its.occurrence. Patients.and methods. It was.a retros.ective, des.riptive and analytical s.udy which is.carried out at the nephrology department of Aris.ide Le DANTEC hos.ital of Dakar over a period of 60 months. Diabetics.with s.s.ected NDN diagnos.s.bas.d on renal anomalie that is.as.ociated with a recent diabetes. Acute renal failure with rapid progres., Diabetic retinopathy’s.abs.nce, and Extrarenal s.gns.(cutaneous. diges.ive and articular) as.ociated with an acute renal failure. Micros.opic haematuria was.included. The epidemiological, clinical, biological and his.ological parameters.were collected and analys.d us.ng the s.s., 3.5 vers.on s.ftware. Res.lts. Out of 34 biops.ed diabetic patients. 12 had NDN that is.a prevalence of 35, 3%. The average age was.49.88 ± 4.15 years. 0.78 for the s.x-ratio and the mean duration of diabetes.is.12.53 ± 4.7 years. Glomerular s.ndrome was.found in 30 patients.(88.23%), vas.ular nephropathy s.ndrome in 3 patients.(8.82%) and tubule-inters.itial nephropathy s.ndrome in only one patient (2.94%). Diabetic retinopathy (DR) and micros.opic haematuria (HU) res.ectively exis.ed in 10 patients.(34%) and 15 patients.(44. 12%). The Kidney biops. (KB) indications.were renal abnormalities.as.ociated with recent diabetes. acute renal failure with rapid progres., abs.nce of DR, extrarenal s.gns.as.ociated with acute renal failure and micros.opic haematuria. Chronic s.bdural hematoma repres.nts.25% of traumatic s.bdural collections.common in elderly s.bjects.with a clear male predominance. It occurs.over the age of 50 in more than 90% of cas.s.and 50% of patients.have no his.ory of head trauma even if the latter remains.the main ris. factor with others.s.ch as.coagulopathy, anticoagulant treatment, chronic alcoholic pois.ning. Its.dis.overy is.rarely fortuitous.and has.an important clinical polymorphis. including an intracranial hypertens.on s.ndrome (complete or incomplete). Purpos.: The authors.analyzed the epidemiological and clinical as.ects.of diabetic retinopathy at the Center for the Application of the s.ecialized s.udies.Diploma in Ophthalmology, Gamal Abdel Nas.er Univers.ty (CHU/ Donka) Conakry. Diabetic retinopathy (eye damage: eye and retina) is.a s.rious.complication of diabetes.that affects.50% of type 2 diabetic patients. The eyes.are particularly s.ns.tive to damage to a s.all ves.el. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is.the retinal localization of diabetic micro angiopathy res.lting in impaired blood flow in the affected territories. the cons.quences.of which will determine the clinical manifes.ations.of the dis.as.. DR is.the leading caus. of vis.on los. in adults.of working age. Patients.and Methods. This.is.a longitudinal pros.ective s.udy carried out at CADEs.O concerning 198 diabetic patients. The s.lection criteria were that the media be trans.arent and the fundus.acces.ible over a period of s.x months.from February to July 2018. Res.lts. A total of 73 patients.(37%) pres.nted with diabetic retinopathy with an average age of 49.5 +/−9 years. The s.x ratio (M/F) was.0.6 with a female predominance of 59%. Liberal profes.ion patients.were the mos. numerous.47.5%. Type 2 diabetes.was.the mos. common (85.86%). Diabetes.fundus.as.es.ment was.the mos. common reas.n for cons.ltation (52%). Arterial hypertens.on was.the mos. incriminated ris. factor (45.45%) followed by the poor balance of diabetes.(40.90%), and the age of diabetes.(28.28%). 9.5% had diabetic retinopathy complicated by rubella iris. neovas.ular glaucoma and retinal detachment. Pachymeningeal en plaque tuberculoma is.a rare manifes.ation of tuberculos.s.and has.a poor prognos.s.if not diagnos.d early and treated adequately. The aim of the pres.nt paper is.to collect the reported clinical and radiological s.gns.in the literature and compare it with a pers.nal obs.rvation to evaluate the pos.ibility of a pres.mptive diagnos.s. A 4-year-old boy pres.nted at the pediatric emergency department with 7 days.his.ory of s.vere headache, vomiting blurred vis.on and had one partial s.izure. His.neurologic examination was.notable for decreas.d vis.al acuity with bilateral papilledema and intact extra-ocular mus.les. His.neck was.rigid. Neuroimaging revealed a multifocal dural-bas.d mas. on the fronto-parietal convexity with dens. heterogeneous.contras. enhancement and hydrocephalus. He has.undergone a Ventriculoperitoneal s.unt and s.rgical excis.on of the mas. the next day. Outcome was.favorable with antituberculos.s.therapy and corticos.eroids. The clinical pres.ntation and outcome were s.milar to the reported cas.s.in the literature.
