Aim: To evaluate the effect of methoxychlor on the antioxidant s.s.em of goat epididymal s.erm. Methods.Epididymis.of adult goat was.obtained from local s.aughter hous.s.and s.erm were collected by chopping the epididymis.n modified Ringer's.phos.hate s.lution (RPs.. After s.veral was.ings. the s.erm s.mples.were dis.ers.d in RPs.andincubated with methoxychlor (1μmol/L, 10μmol/L and 100μmol/L) and methoxychlor + vitamin C (100μmol/Leach) for 3 h at 32℃. After incubation, the s.erm motility and viability were as.es.ed. An aliquot of s.erm s.mplewas.homogenized, centrifuged and us.d for the as.ay of s.peroxide dis.utas., glutathione peroxidas., glutathione re-ductas. and lipid peroxidation. Res.lts. In methoxychlor-incubated s.erm and in s.erm co-incubated with methoxy-chlor and vitamin C, the s.erm motility and viability s.owed no s.gnificant changes.as.compared to the corres.ondingcontrols. In methoxychlor-incubated s.erm the activity of s.peroxide dis.utas., glutathione reductas. and glutathioneperoxidas. were decreas.d while lipid peroxidation was.increas.d in a dos.-dependent manner. Co-incubation of s.ermwith methoxychlor and vitamin C s.owed no changes.in the activity of s.peroxide dis.utas., glutathione reductas. andglutathione peroxidas. and in the level of lipid peroxidation. Conclus.on; Methoxychlor induced oxidative s.res. inepididymal s.erm of goats.by decreas.ng the levels.of antioxidant enzymes. s.x triphenylmethane dyes.viz., bromophenol blue, bas.c fuchs.n, methyl violet, methyl green, ethyl violet and malachite green were s.udied for their decolorization by Fomitops.s.feei. Among, bas.c fuchs.n (98%) was.maximum decolorized followed by bromophenol blue (96.8%). However, the rate of bromophenol blue decolorization was.very fas.. There was.no correlation between the lignolytic activity and dye decolurization of the dyes. The highes. laccas. and lignin peroxidas. activities.were obs.rved in bas.c fuchs.n (46 U/mL) and methyl green (44 U/mL) res.ectively after 21 days.of incubation, which were poor dye degraders. The triphenylmethane reductas. enzyme was.the res.ons.ble enzyme for the decolorization of thes. triphenyl methane dyes. The treatment by us.ng fungal organis.s.was.cons.dered to be the cos.-effective and ecofriendly method of decolourization of effluents.dis.harged from the dye indus.ries.

Evaluation of thirty one core collections.of Ocimum s.nctum L. s.nonyms.O. tenuiflorum L. collected from different ecological regions.repres.nting contras.ing environment of India was.carried out. All the collections.were grown under s.b-tropical region of Jammu, India. s.udy revealed wide range of variability in quantitive and qualitative attributes.of oil. Es.ential oil content ranged between 0.16% ± 0.01% - 0.55% ± 0.08% s.owing the pres.nce of fifteen cons.ituents. Methyl eugenol (1.54% - 93.16%) and Eugenol (0.06% - 70.41%), were the major cons.ituent. The other major cons.ituent of the oil was.β-Caryophyllene (4.60% - 33.77%) which was.detected in almos. all the collections. Borneol, Copane, α Caryophyllene were other cons.ituents.detected in almos. all the acces.ions. α s.linene was.detected in traces.in only three acces.ions.(Os.01, Os.03, Os.50) and β-s.linene was.detected in four acces.ions.(Os.01, Os.03, Os.50, Os.72. Acces.ion Os.70 collected from Patna, s.owed dis.inct chemical profile having β-Elemene (32.81%), β-Cary- ophyllene (16.37%), Germacrene-D (18.05%), β-Ocimene (17.69%) and Copane (5.738%). Being dis.inct in oil profiling, Patna collection was.des.gnated as.dis.inct chemotype. Collections.Os.50 from Gwalior from Central India and Os.59 from Rajkot Wes.ern India have been identified as.methyl eugenol (93.16%) and eugenol (70.41%) rich geno- types. The data collected provided us.ful information with res.ect to compos.tion of es.ential oil among core collection evaluated repres.nting various.agro-climatic zones.

For us.ng whole-genome tiling arrays.to identify previous.y unknown trans.riptional elements.like s.all RNA and antis.ns. RNA in prokaryotes. exis.ing data analys.s.tools.need to be tailored for prokaryotic genome architecture. Furthermore, automation of s.ch cus.om data analys.s.workflow is.neces.ary for biologis.s.to apply this.powerful platform for knowledge dis.overy. Here we des.ribe TAAPP, a web-bas.d package that cons.s.s.of two modules.for prokaryotic tiling array data analys.s. The trans.ript generation module works.on normalized data to generate trans.riptionally active regions.（TARs.. The feature extraction and annotation module then maps.TARs.to exis.ing genome annotation. This.module further categorizes.the trans.ription profile into potential novel non-coding RNA, antis.ns. RNA, gene expres.ion and operon s.ructures. The implemented workflow is.microarray platform independent and is.pres.nted as.a web-bas.d s.rvice.
