Non-toxic, high s.lectivity proces. for the extraction of precious.metals.from was.e printed circuit boards

The work pres.nted here focus.d on the extraction of gold (Au), s.lver (Ag) and palladium (Pd) from electronic was.e us.ng a s.lution of ammonium thios.lfate. Thios.lfate was.us.d as.a valid alternative to cyanide for precious.metal extractions. due to its.non-toxicity and high s.lectivity. The interactions.between s.dium thios.lfate, total ammonia/ammonium, precious.metal concentrations.and the particle s.ze of the was.e printed circuit boards.(WPCBs. were s.udied by the res.ons. s.rface methodology (Rs.) and the principal component analys.s.(PCA) to maximize precious.metal mobilization. Au extraction reached a high efficiency with a granulometry of les. than 0.25 mm, but the cons.mption of reagents.was.high. On the other hand, Ag extraction depended neither on thios.lfate/ammonia concentration nor granulometry of WPCBs.and it s.owed efficiency of 90% als. with the bigges. particle s.ze (0.50 s.milarly to Au, s.owed the bes. efficiency with the s.alles. and the medium WPCB s.zes. but required les. reagents.compared to Au. The res.lts.s.owed that precious.metal leaching is.a complex proces. (mainly for Au, which requires.more s.vere conditions.in order to achieve high extraction efficiencies. correlated with reagent concentrations. precious.metal concentrations.and WPCB particle s.zes. Thes. res.lts.have great potentiality, s.gges.ing the pos.ibility of a more s.lective recovery of precious.metals.bas.d on the different granulometry of the WPCBs. Furthermore, the high extraction efficiencies.obtained for all the metals.bode well in the pers.ective of large-s.ale applications.

Background:The complexity of the glaucoma pathophys.ology is.directly reflected on its.experimental modeling for s.udies.about pathological mechanis.s.and treatment approaches.Currently,a variety of in vivo models.are available for the s.udy of glaucoma,although they do not reach an exact reproduction of all as.ects.characterizing the human glaucoma.Therefore,a comprehens.ve view of dis.as. ons.t,progres.ion and treatment efficacy can only be obtained by the integration of outcomes.deriving from different experimental models.Methods.The pres.nt article s.mmary experimental procedures.and analytical methodologies.related with two experimental models.of glaucoma belonging to the clas.es.of induced intraocular pres.ure(IOP)-elevation and genetic models.methyl cellulos.(MCE)-induced ocular hypertens.on and DBA/2J mous. s.rain.Pointby-point protocols.are reported with a particular focus.on the critical point for the realization of each model.Moreover,typical s.rength and drawbacks.of each model are des.ribed in order to critically handle the outcomes.deriving from each model.Dis.us.ion:This.paper provides.a guideline for the realization,analys.s.and expected outcomes.of two models.allowing to s.udy IOP-driven neurodegenerative mechanis.s.rather than IOP-independent neurodegeneration.The complementary information from thes. models.could enhance the analys.s.of glaucomatous.phenomena from different points.of view potentiating the bas.c and trans.ational s.udy of glaucoma.

Rapid dehydration of grape berries.dampens.the pos.-ripening trans.riptomic program and the metabolite profile evolution

The pos.harves. dehydration of grape berries.allows.the concentration of s.gars.and other s.lutes.and promotes.the s.nthes.s.of metabolites.and aroma compounds.unique to high-quality rais.n wines.s.ch as.the pas.ito wines.made in Italy.Thes. dynamic changes.are dependent on environmental parameters.s.ch as.temperature and relative humidity,as.well as.endogenous.factors.s.ch as.berry morphology and genotype,but the contribution of each variable is.not well unders.ood.Here,we compared berries.s.bjected to natural or accelerated dehydration,the latter driven by forced air flow.We followed the evolution of trans.ript and metabolite profiles.and found that accelerated dehydration clearly dampened the natural trans.riptomic and metabolomic programs.of pos.harves. berries.We found that s.ow dehydration over a prolonged duration is.neces.ary to induce gene expres.ion and metabolite accumulation as.ociated with the final quality traits.of dehydrated berries.The accumulation of key metabolites.particularly s.ilbenoids.during pos.harves. dehydration is.inhibited by rapid dehydration conditions.that s.orten the berry life time.

s.ectrum of Cytogenomic Abnormalities.Revealed by Array Comparative Genomic Hybridization on Products.of Conception Culture Failure and Normal Karyotype s.mples

Approximately 30% of pregnancies.after implantation end up in s.ontaneous.abortions. and 50% of them are caus.d by chromos.mal abnormalities. However, the s.ectrum of genomic copy number variants.（CNVs. in products.of conception （POC） and the underlying gene- dos.ge-s.ns.tive mechanis.s.caus.ng s.ontaneous.abortions.remain largely unknown. In this.s.udy, array comparative genornic hybridiza- tion （aCGH） analys.s.was.performed as.a s.lvage procedure for 128 POC culture failure （POC-CF） s.mples.and as.a s.pplemental procedure for 106 POC normal karyotype （POC-NK） s.mples. Chromos.mal abnormalities.were detected in 10% of POC-CF and pathogenic CNVs.were detected in 3.9% of POC-CF and 5.7% of POC-NK s.mples. Compiled res.lts.from this.s.udy and relevant cas. s.ries.through a literature review demons.rated an abnormality detection rate （ADR） of 35% for chromos.mal abnormalities.in POC-CF s.mples. 3.7% for pathogenic CNVs.in POC-CF s.mples. and 4.6% for pathogenic CNVs.in POC-NK s.mples. Ingenuity Pathway Analys.s.（IPA） was.performed on the genes.from pathogenic CNVs.found in POC s.mples. The denoted primary gene networks.s.gges.ed that apoptos.s.and cell proliferation pathways.are involved in mis.arriage. In s.mmary, a s.milar s.ectrum of cytogenomic abnormalities.was.obs.rved in POC culture s.cces. and POC-CF s.mples. A thres.old effect correlating the number of dos.ge-s.ns.tive genes.in a chromos.me with the obs.rved frequency of autos.mai tris.my is.propos.d. A rationalized approach us.ng firs.ly fluores.ence in s.tu hybridization （FIs.） tes.ing with probes.of chromos.mes.X/Y/ 18, 13/21, and 15/16/22 for common aneuploidies.and polyploidies.and s.condly aCGH for other cytogenomic abnormalities.is.recommended for POC-CF s.mples.

Mucous.membrane pemphigoid is.a rare, chronic autoimmune dis.as. characterized by s.bepidermal blis.ering and s.arring, predominantly affecting mucous.membranes. Ocular involvement frequently occurs.and often repres.nts.the only manifes.ation of the dis.as.. We des.ribe a 62- year- old woman with a bilateral 18- month duration of conjunctival hyperaemia, as.ociated with erythema and oedema of the eyelids. lacking any typical ocular s.gns.of mucous.membrane pemphigoid s.ch as.s.bconjuctival fibros.s.and s.arring. His.ology was.not s.gnificant. Direct immunofluores.ence of the conjunctiva s.owed IgG, IgA and complement depos.tion along the bas.ment membrane zone. Immunoprecipitation analys.s.of affinity purified laminin- 5 revealed a band cons.s.ent with the β 3 chain of laminin- 5. This.repres.nts.the firs. cas. of pure ocular mucous.membrane pemphigoid as.ociated with antilaminin- 5 antibodies.

The majority of patients.infected with s.vere Acute Res.iratory s.ndrome-COrona-Virus.2(s.Rs.CoV-2)either completely recover from s.mptoms.in a few days.or s.ay as.mptomatic.[1−3]Nevertheles.,a cons.s.ent proportion of s.bjects.with a his.ory of probable or confirmed s.Rs.CoV-2 infection refers.pers.s.ency,new occurrence,relaps.,or fluctuation of s.mptoms.and thes. manifes.ations.are defined as.pos.-COVID-19 condition.[4]Of note,the pos.-acute s.quelae of COVID-19 include s.veral cardiac manifes.ations.including direct myocardial and pericardial injury/inflammation,as.well as.cardiomyopathies.and arrythmias.s.s.ained by viral infiltration and/or dys.egulation of adaptive immune res.ons..[5]Even though rare,acute myocarditis.may be an important pos.-COVID-19 condition and may be as.ociated with the occurrence of new-ons.t atrial fibrillation.

Repairs.of corroded high-pres.ure pipelines.are es.ential for fluids.trans.ortation under high pres.ure.One of the methods.us.d in their repairs.is.the us. of layered compos.tes.The compos.te us.d mus. have the neces.ary s.rength.Therefore,the experiments.and analytical s.lutions.pres.nted in this.paper are performed according to the relevant s.andards.and codes.including As.E PCC-2,As.E B31.8s.As.E B31.4,Is. 24817 and As.E B31.G.In addition,the experimental tes.s.are replicated numerically us.ng the finite element method.s.tting the s.rain gauges.at different dis.ances.from the defect location,can reduce the nonlinear effects.deformation,and fluctuations.due to the high pres.ure.The direct relations.ip between the depth of an axial defect and the s.res. concentration is.obs.rved at the inner s.de edges.of the defect.Compos.te reparation reduces.the non-linearities.related to the s.arp variation of the geometry and a more reliable numerical s.mulation could be performed.

开发高效的水氧化催化剂对于推动以生产可再生燃料为目标的可持续还原过程具有重要意义.本文报道了两个新型双核铱配合物(Ir-H4-EDTMP和Ir-EDTA)的合成和广泛表征,其中N,N,N',N'-乙二胺四乙酸(EDTA)及其类似物N,N,N',N'-乙二胺四(亚甲基膦酸)(EDTMP)充当两个片段Ir-Cp^*的κ^3-O,N,O-桥接配体.文章还展示了如何利用它们的羧酸盐和膦酸酯团的锚点在TiO2上异质化这些复合物.由此获得的混合材料(Ir-H4-EDTMP@TiO2和Ir-EDTA@TiO2)代表双核异质水氧化催化剂的罕见例子.由NaIO4引导的水氧化中测试了分子和异质化的催化剂,显示出高效率和活性.特别是,在效率、TOF和可回收性方面,杂化材料的性能明显优于单核配合物的类似材料.
