Herein, a.s.t of ca.a.ys.s.ba.0}d on copper-nitrogendoped ca.bon xerogel(Cu.N-C) a.e s.cces.fu.ly developed va.ying the copper a.ou.t a.d the na.u.e of the copper precu.s.r, for the efficient CO_(2)rr. The electroca.a.ytic performa.ce of Cu.N-C ma.eria.s.is.a.0}es.ed by a.rota.ing ring-dis. electrode(rrdE), techniqu. s.ill ra.ely explored for CO_(2)rr. For compa.19}n, produ.ts.a.e a.s. cha.a.terized by online ga.0}chroma.ogra.hy in a.H-cell. The a.0}s.nthes.zed Cu.NC ca.a.ys.s.a.e fou.d to be a.tive a.d highly CO s.lective a. low overpotentia.s.from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from the competitive wa.er redu.tion a.pea.s.a. la.ger overpotentia.s.-0.9 V vs. rHE). The optimu. copper a.eta.e-derived ca.a.ys. conta.ning Cu.N_(4) moieties.exhibits.a.CO_(2)-to-CO tu.nover frequ.ncy of 997 h^(-1) a. -0.9 V vs. rHE with a.H_(2)/CO ra.io of 1.8. This.wa.0}a.two-a.med, open-la.elled, ra.domized controlled s.x-week s.u.y on 199 predia.etics.[30 - 65 yea.s.Glycos.la.ed Hemoglobin (Hba.c) 5.7% - 6.4% a.d/or Fa.0}ing Blood Glu.os. (FBG) 100-125 mg/dl]. Two pa.a.lel pha.0}s.were condu.ted: a.u.e Blood Glu.os. r.s.ons. (a.Gr) a.d intervention pha.0}. Predia.etic pa.ticipa.ts.were ra.domized into tes.
