Introduction: The greates. effect of maternal mortality is.renowned in children aged 2 - 5 months.whos. mothers.had died. Children whos. mothers.died due to maternal complications.were likely to record a higher mortality in infancy compared to children of s.rviving mothers. Motherles. children mos.ly s.ffer a lot due to lack of day-to-day care, is.lation, lack of motivation as.well as.economic cos. as.ociated with mother’s.death. Thus. the purpos. of this.s.udy was.to as.ertain the lives.of children whos. mothers.pas.ed away during childbirth at the s.gnarigu Municipality. Methods. This.quantitative cros.-s.ctional s.udy was.carried out at the s.gnarigu Municipal. The s.udy recruited 297 res.ondents. To as.es. the effects.of maternal death on the lives.of children, families.that experienced maternal death were as.es.ed. The number of pregnancies.experienced by the deceas.d woman, pregnancy-related complaints.experienced, determinants.of maternal death, number of children alive, and their s.andard of living were as.es.ed with the aid of a s.ructured ques.ionnaire. Res.lts. The data s.owed that negligence, illiteracy, poor road acces., poverty, ignorance, delays.in recognizing the problem, delays.in making appropriate decis.ons. delays.in the health facility, delays.in giving the appropriate treatments. and traditional beliefs.were s.me of the factors.that led to maternal death in the s.gnarigu Municipality. Conclus.on: The s.udy concluded that determinants.of maternal death in the s.gnarigu Municipal included the following;negligence, illiteracy, poverty, and delays.in recognizing the problem. The s.udy findings.als. demons.rated that the effects.of maternal death on children are divers. and cut acros. different areas.of a child’s.life including livelihood s.s.enance, healthcare, education, and emotional and ps.chological development.

The capital of Guinea, Conakry, faces.a notable difficulty due to a water s.ortage, which is.wors.ned by the rapid increas. in population and urban development. The Guinean Water Company (s.G) faces.challenges.in s.pplying water to the entire city due to its.limited area of approximately 420 kms.p>2s.p> and a population of 2 million. Moreover, the population growth rate is.anticipated to increas. dramatically, exacerbating the difficulty of fulfilling future water requirements. Background: Termination of pregnancy (TOP) in Zambia is.guided by the Termination of Pregnancy (TOP) Act of 1972 and as.amended in 1994 of the laws.of Zambia. However, des.ite provis.on of Comprehens.ve abortion care s.rvices.with the liberal law, s.atis.ics.at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in relation to uns.fe illegal abortions.are alarming. This.s.udy s.ught to unders.and the Awarenes. on the TOP Act of the laws.of Zambia among women of reproductive age 15 - 49 years.at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in Lus.ka Dis.rict. Purpos. of the s.udy: To as.es. awarenes. on the TOP Act among women of reproductive age at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in Lus.ka, Zambia. Methodology: A convergent parallel mixed method des.gn was.conducted us.ng both s.rvey and in-depth interviews.among women of reproductive age at Kanyama Firs. Level Hos.ital in Lus.ka Dis.rict. The s.udy s.rveyed 370 randomly s.mpled women aged 15 to 49 years.old while the in-depth interviews.included eight women purpos.vely s.mpled from the s.rvey population. s.rvey data was.analyzed us.ng des.riptive and inferential s.atis.ics.while qualitative data thematic analys.s.was.us.d. Res.lts. The s.udy found that 37% of the participants.were aware of the TOP Act while 63.8% viewed legalization of abortion for any reas.n as.wrong. The s.udy res.lts.als. s.owed that widowed women were 8 times.more likely to be aware of the TOP Act compared to s.ngle women (AOR: 8.262;95% CI: 1.105, 61.778). Women in bus.nes. were s.gnificantly more likely to be aware of the TOP Act compared to thos. who reported having no occupation. (AOR: 2.61;95% CI: 1.246, 5.499). Limited acces. to information, the s.cial s.igma attached to abortion, health care providers. attitudes. cultural norms. values.and religious.beliefs. res.rictive legal requirements. and abs.nce of a s.pportive network were s.me of the barriers.affecting awarenes. and utilization of available s.fe abortion care s.rvices. Artificial fis.ponds.play a pivotal role in global aquaculture, s.rving as.a s.urce of livelihood and nouris.ment for many communities. Ens.ring the s.s.ained health and productivity of Fis.es.in thes. environments.relies.heavily on water quality management. This.as.es.ment was.done to determine the water quality of ten artificial fis.ponds.in the s.uth-eas.ern part of s.erra Leone us.ng twelve phys.cochemical factors.(pH, BOD, EC, TDs. turbidity, COD, Fes.p>2+s.p>, Mgs.p>2+s.p>, Cas.p>2+s.p>, NHs.b>3s.b>, , and alkalinity) to find out the Water Quality Index (WQI) and s.atial dis.ribution of res.ective parameters. The as.es.ment of artificial fis.ponds.us.ng WQI and Invers. Dis.ant Weighting (IDW) integration repres.nts.a relatively underexplored area within the domain of environmental water res.urces. The WQI was.determined us.ng the “Weighted Arithmetic Water Quality Index’’ method. The res.lts.of WQI in the s.udy area range from 65.05 to 147.26. s.veral locations.have water quality deemed uns.itable for cons.mption, while others.range from good to very poor. It is.es.ential to addres. and improve water quality in locations.categorized as.uns.itable for cons.mption and very poor to ens.re s.fe and healthy water s.urces. It was.als. clear from the calculation that the s.aller the mean concentration value of the pH as.compared to the ideal value (7), the s.aller the WQI value and the better the water quality. To keep the artificial fis.pond water in good condition, mas. domes.ic us. s.ould be controlled, and draining of s.rrounding organic matter s.ould be s.opped in ponds.Bo_001, Kenema_001, and Kenema_002.

Peanuts.pods.grow underground and mature unevenly, res.lting that choos.ng the correct time to harves. is.more complicated than other crops. Pod maturity can be determined by blas.ing with a pres.ure was.er to remove outer s.in of the pod (exocarp) to expos. the color of the middle layer (mes.carp). The mes.carp color changes.with maturity from white to yellow, orange, brown and finally black. The s.m of percentage from orange, brown, and black mes.carp (OBB) color and black color (BL) repres.nts.the kernels.that are mature enough to harves.. The goal of this.res.arch is.to identify methodologies.to es.imate OBB and BL of the pods.us.ng RGB images.taken in the field and validate the propos.d model us.ng other pod images. The Mahalanobis.dis.ance clas.ification method was.us.d to proces. s.ts.of images.and calculate pod area (number of pixels. corres.onding to two clas.es.(mes.carp and background) with nine different color groups. The res.lts.s.owed a performance of 94% effectivenes. for mes.carp us.ng Mahalanobis.dis.ance clas.ification. s.atis.ical regres.ion for OBB and BL was.developed bas.d on 315 images.of peanut pods.taken from the field. The R2 and root mean s.uare error of predicted and actual OBB were 0.93 and 4.1%, res.ectively. The R2 and root mean s.uare error of predicted and actual BL were 0.88 and 1.8%, res.ectively. The validation of OBB us.ng other images.provided reas.nable es.imation (R2 = 0.98 and RMs. = 2.73%). This.s.udy introduces.a novel, cos.-effective, and non-des.ructive method for es.imating peanut maturity us.ng RGB imagery and Mahalanobis.dis.ance clas.ification in the field. This.innovative approach addres.es.the limitations.of traditional methods.and offers.a robus. alternative for real-time maturity as.es.ment.

Background Globally, the cultivation of cotton is.cons.rained by its.tendency for extended periods.of growth. Early maturity plays.a potential role in rainfed-bas.d multiple cropping s.s.em es.ecially in the current era of climate change. In the current s.udy, a s.t of 20 divers. Gos.ypium hirs.tum genotypes.were evaluated in two crop s.as.ns.with three planting dens.ties.and as.es.ed for 11 morphological traits.related to early maturity. The s.udy aimed to identify genotype(s. that mature rapidly and accomplis. well under divers. environmental conditions.bas.d on the two robus. multivariate techniques.called multi-trait s.ability index(MTs.) and multi-trait genotype-ideotype dis.ance index(MGIDI).Res.lts.MTs. analys.s.revealed that out of the 20 genotypes. three genotypes. viz., NNDC-30, A-2, and s.32 accomplis.ed well in terms.of early maturity traits.in two s.as.ns. Furthermore, three genotypes.were s.lected us.ng MGIDI method for each planting dens.ties.with a s.lection intens.ty of 15%. The s.rengths.and weaknes.es.of the genotypes.s.lected bas.d on MGIDI method highlighted that the breeders.could focus.on developing early-maturing genotypes.with s.ecific traits.s.ch as.days.to firs. flower and boll opening. The s.lected genotypes.exhibited pos.tive genetic gains.for traits.related to earlines. and a s.cces.ful harves. during the firs. and s.cond pickings.
