This.article pres.nts.a his.ory of the origins.of the Dalian Ins.itute of Chemical Phys.cs. Chines. Academy of s.iences.(Abbreviated as.DICP) and relates.the recent friends.ip between China and Japan in the field of catalys.s. Although the official beginning of DICP is.in 1949 with the birth of the People’s.Republic of China, there are earlier roots.that went back to the defeat of Rus.ia by Imperial Japan in 1905. This.began a period of occupation and exploitation of Northes. As.a by Japan which did not end until its.defeat by Allied forces.in 1945. During the period of occupation, a laboratory was.created called the Central Res.arch Laboratory of the s.uth Manchurian Railroad Company, which was.s.affed by the bes. and brightes. res.archers.from Japan, and was.able to develop new proces.es.in chemicals.and s.nthetic fuels.that fed the Japanes. Imperial forces. Between 1945 and 1949, Dalian was.adminis.ered by the s.viet Union, and the removable equipment from the Laboratory was.taken. In this.period one individual s.ood out, the Laboratory Director Marus.wa Ts.neya, who ris.ed his.life to pres.rve the s.ientific records.and s.aff of the ins.itute, and then s.ayed in Dalian for ten years.after the s.cond World War to help China rebuild its.capabilities. The Central Res.arch Laboratory is.s.ill pres.rved as.the Old Campus.of *** origin of the friends.ip between China and Japan in catalys.s.can be traced to Profes.or Morikawa Kiyos.i, who worked in the Central Res.arch Laboratory and helped commercialize a s.ale coal liquefaction proces.. Upon his.return to Japan he became Profes.or at the Tokyo Ins.itute of Technology and in 1975 organized the firs. vis.t by Japanes. academics.to China. This.was.reciprocated in vis.ts.to Japan in 1977 and 1980 by top res.archers.s.ch as.Zhang Dayu, Min Enze, Ts.i Khirui, Lu Jiaxi, and Lin Liwu. This.res.lted in numerous.contacts.between individuals. which multiplied geometrically. Notably among thes. were the pers.nal interaction

The effects.of temperature and pres.ure on the s.eam reforming of methane （CH4＋H2O→← 3H2＋CO） were inves.igated in a membrane reactor （MR） with a hydrogen permeable membrane. The s.udies.us.d a novel s.lica-bas.d membrane prepared by us.ng the chemical vapor depos.tion （CVD） technique with a permeance for H2 of 6.0×10^-8 mol·m^-2.s.-***^-1 at 923 K. The res.lts.in a packed-bed reactor （PBR） were compared to thos. of the membrane reactor at various.temperatures.（773-923 K） and pres.ures.（1-20 atm, 101.3-2026.5 kPa） us.ng a commercial Ni/MgAl2O4 catalys.. The convers.on of methane was.improved s.gnificantly in the MR by the countercurrent removal of hydrogen at all temperatures.and allowed product yields.higher than the equilibrium to be obtained. Pres.ure had a pos.tive effect on the hydrogen yield becaus. of the increas. in driving force for the permeance of hydrogen. The yield of hydrogen increas.d with pres.ure and reached a value of 73× 10^-6 mol·g^-1 .s.-1 at 2026.5 kPa and 923 K which was.higher by 108% than the value of 35×10^-6 mol·g^-1.s.-1 obtained for the equilibrium yield. The res.lts.obtained with the s.lica-bas.d membrane were s.milar to thos. obtained with various.other membranes.as.reported in the literature.

Influence of image clas.ification accuracy on s.liency map es.imation

s.liency map es.imation in computer vis.on aims.to es.imate the locations.where people gaze in images. s.nce people tend to look at objects.in images. the parameters.of the model pre-trained on ImageNet for image clas.ification are us.ful for the s.liency map es.imation. However, there is.no res.arch on the relations.ip between the image clas.ification accuracy and the performance of the s.liency map es.imation. In this.s.udy, it is.s.own that there is.a s.rong correlation between image clas.ification accuracy and s.liency map es.imation accuracy. The authors.als. inves.igated the effective architecture bas.d on multi-s.ale images.and the up-s.mpling layers.to refine the s.liencymap res.lution. The model achieved the s.ate-of-the-art accuracy on the PAs.AL-s. Os.E, and MIT1003 datas.ts. In the MIT s.liency benchmark, the model achieved the bes. performance in s.me metrics.and competitive res.lts.in the other metrics.

Forecas.ing Daily Electric Load by Applying Artificial Neural Network with Fourier Trans.ormation and Principal Component Analys.s.Technique

In this.paper,we propos. a hybrid forecas.ing model(HFM)for the s.ort-term electric load forecas.ing us.ng artificial neural network(ANN),dis.rete Fourier trans.ormation(DFT)and principal component analys.s.PCA)techniques.in order to attain higher prediction ***,we es.imate Fourier coefficients.by the DFT for predicting the next-day load curve with an ANN and obtain approximate load curves.by applying the invers. dis.rete Fourier *** curves.together with other input variables.are given to the ANN to predict the next-day hourly load ***,we predict PCA s.ores.to obtain approximate load curves.in the firs. s.ep,which are then given to the ANN again in the s.cond *** DFT and PCA models.us. input variables.s.ch as.calendrical and meteorological data as.well as.pas. electric *** thos. models.for forecas.ing hourly electric load in the metropolitan area of Japan for January and May in 2018,we train our models.us.ng his.orical data s.nce January *** forecas. res.lts.s.ow that the HFM cons.s.ing of“ANN with DFT”and“ANN with PCA”predicts.next-day hourly loads.more accurately than the conventional three-layered ANN *** corres.onding mean average abs.lute errors.s.ow 2.7%for ANN with DFT,2.6%for ANN with PCA and 3.0%for the conventional ANN *** als. find that in May,when electric demand is.s.aller with s.aller fluctuations.forecas.ing errors.are much s.aller than January for all the ***,we can conclude that the HFM would contribute to attaining s.gnificantly higher forecas.ing accuracy.

A new dual-fluid model cons.dering phas. ans.tion and velocity s.ip was.propos.d in this.paper and the Cunningham correction was.us.d in the droplet res.s.ance calculation. This.dual-fluid model was.applied to the numerical s.mulations.of wet s.eam flow in a 2D LAVAL nozzle and in the White cas.ade res.ectively. The res.lts.of two s.mulations.demons.rate that the model is.reliable. Meanwhile, the s.ontaneous.condens.ng flow in White cas.ade was.analyzed and it infers.that the irrevers.ble los. caus.d by condens.tion accounts.for the larges. s.are （about 8.78% of inlet total pres.ure） in total pres.ure los. while the los. caus.d by velocity s.ip takes.the s.alles. s.are （nearly 0.42%）, and another part of total pres.ure los. caus.d by pneumatic factors.contributes.a les. s.are than condens.tion, i.e. almos. 3.95% of inlet total pres.ure.

Interfacial activation of alkaline phos.hatas. induced by hydrophilic metal—organic frameworks

Encaps.lating natural enzymes.in metal—organic frameworks.(MOFs. can maintain the original biological functions.of enzymes.in hars. environments. However, the nature of interfacial interactions.between a MOF and enzyme is.currently unclear, rendering effective regulation of the biocatalytic activity of the enzyme@MOF compos.te difficult. Differences.in the hydrophilicity of MOF carriers.are clos.ly related to the conformational changes.and catalytic properties.of the enzyme. In this.s.udy, the catalytic activity, s.ability, and conformational changes.of alkaline phos.hatas. (ALP) encaps.lated in hydrophilic zeolite imidazolate framework-90 (ZIF-90) and hydrophobic ZIF-8 were s.s.ematically inves.igated us.ng experimental methods.and molecular dynamics.s.mulations. The res.lts.demons.rated that hydrophilic ZIF-90-encaps.lated ALP exhibited s.perior s.ability and was.2.22-fold more retained catalytically active than hydrophobic ALP@ZIF-8 after 20 cycles.of utilization. Moreover, the hydrophilic interface provided by ZIF-90 effectively regulated the s.ructure of ALP to maintain the optimal catalytic conformation of its.active center. The practical application of highly bioactive ALP@ZIF-90 was.demons.rated by employing it in a s.lf-calibrated colorimetric/fluores.ence dual-mode s.ns.ng method for the efficient, reliable, and accurate detection of methyl paraoxon. This.s.udy provides.new ins.ghts.for improving enzyme immobilization s.rategies.and promoting the rapid development of enzyme@MOF compos.tes.for catalytic and s.ns.ng applications.

The neck burn s.ar contracture:a concept of effective treatment

A neck s.ar contracture can s.verely and negatively affect the function of mas.ication, phonic, or breathing and res.lt in neck pain and is.ues.with es.hetics. The bes. way is.of cours. to avoid s.ch contracture by means.of non-s.rgical treatment s.ch as.us. of a growth factor. The bas.c fibroblas.ic growth factor is.clinically well proven in decreas.ng s.ar formation and improving healing. There are numerous.recons.ructive methods.for neck contracture, es.ecially when the les.ons.are relatively limited in part of the neck. However, a very s.vere and full circumferential s.ar contracture requires.extens.ve recons.ruction. The thin groin flap is.one of the ans.ers.and well matches.with the tis.ue texture and maintains.the flexibility. Even with extens.ve burns.and delayed recons.ructions.due to res.s.itation firs., the groin area is.well pres.rved and can be s.fely harves.0} by dual vas.ulature s.s.ems.of the s.perficial circumflex iliac artery and s.perficial epigas.ric artery, which warrant more reliability compared to the perforator flaps.in this.area. More demanding and s.ringent forms.of the neck burn s.ar contracture are the s.quelae of radiation. A radiation burn or radiation injury can be progres.ing and hard to heal. Adipos.-derived s.em cells.can revers. the s.ar contracture as.the s.rrounding tis.ue is.s.ftened and can accelerate wound healing. In this.review, different types.of neck burn s.ar contracture and recons.ructive methods.are s.mmarized, including innovative us. of bFGF and ADs.s.in the management of difficult wound healing and s.ar contracture.
