The s.nthes.s.of trochanteric fractures.has.evolved cons.derably s.nce the us. of the s.aca nail-plate in 1964. This.implant, des.ite its.age, remains.a s.lid and reliable material for the s.nthes.s.of this.type of fracture. Objective: To evaluate the anatomo-clinical and functional res.lts.of s.aca nail-plate os.eos.nthes.s.of trochanteric fractures.at the Regional Univers.ty Hos.ital of Ouahigouya in Burkina Fas.. Methods. We performed a retros.ective s.udy of 52 trochanteric fractures.treated by s.aca nail-plate in the regional univers.ty hos.ital of Ouahigouya between June 2007 and June 2017. There were 10 women and 42 men with a mean age of 61 years.(range 17 years.to 89 years.. Ten s.able type I and II of Ender clas.ification fractures.and 42 uns.able fractures.were recorded, including four ps.udarthros.s.and s.x vicious.callus.s. The anterolateral approach was.us.d in all cas.s. In the abs.nce of an image intens.fier, we performed an arthrotomy to identify the femoral neck and s.t up a guide pin. Res.lts. The reduction was.s.tis.actory with s.able s.nthes.s.in 39 cas.s. At las. follow-up, cons.lidation was.effective in all patients. except one. Two cas.s.of acetabular protrus.on were noted, requiring early removal of equipment. Fifty-one patients.were autonomous. The overall res.lts.were cons.dered s.tis.actory. Conclus.on: The s.aca nail-plate remains.a means.of s.lid os.eos.nthes.s. Although it is.no longer relevant in indus.rialized countries. it provides.comparable res.lts.to new implants.for the os.eos.nthes.s.of trochanteric fractures. Becaus. of its.low cos., its.abandonment is.not jus.ified in low-income countries.

Ventilation is.one of the factors.contributing to energy cons.mption in buildings.and food pres.rvation. The s.lar chimney proves.to be an alternative for reducing conventional energy cons.mption. Thus. in this.s.udy, the performance of a s.lar chimney with two active faces.for thermally drawing air from a chamber for pres.rving agri-food products.was.evaluated. Thes. performances.were experimentally as.es.ed through data meas.rements. temperatures.and velocities.within the chimney, and their analys.s.us.ng Excel and MATLAB. The obtained res.lts.were compared with thos. from literature to verify their validity. From this.s.udy, it is.found that the maximum temperature at the chimney outlet reaches.49.4˚C with an average value of 43.7˚C. Additionally, the heating evolution of the chimney air pres.nts.four (04) identical phas.s.in pairs. reflecting the chimney’s.operation throughout day. The temperature difference between the outlet and inlet of the chimney reaches.a maximum of 17˚C with an average of 12.6˚C. Regarding airflow, the maximum air velocity at the chimney outlet is.0.8 m/s. and the average velocities.have cons.s.ently been greater than or equal to 0.46 m/s. Thus. it can be concluded that the s.lar chimney is.capable of providing ventilation for the pres.rvation chamber through thermal draft.

The Banfora’s.birimian greens.ones.belt is.located in the wes.ern part of Burkina Fas. (wes. Africa). Recent petrographic and lithogeochemical s.udies.have highlighted plutons.intruding the metas.dimentary and metavolcanic s.ries. Thes. plutonic rocks.are compos.d of leucogranites.belonging to the s.-called Ferkes.edougou’s.or Ferké’s.batholith, granites. granodiorites. monzodiorites.and quartz monzonites. From the lithogeochemical s.udies. thes. plutonic rocks.have a calc-alkaline and peraluminous.character. The rare earth elements.s.ectra of the Ferké’s.leucogranites.let dis.inguis.ed two s.b-facies. One of the s.b-facies.is.compos.d of quartz monzonite to granite, while the other is.granitic s.ns. s.ricto. However, all thes. plutonic rocks.were emplaced in a geodynamic context of s.bduction followed by collis.on.

Gomphrena s.rrata L. (Amaranthaceae) is.a medicinal plant widely us.d traditionally in rural areas.to treat many dis.as.s. including gas.rointes.inal helminthias.s.of s.all ruminants. This.work aims.to es.imate the plant extracts.phytochemical potential and s.udy the activities.of the aqueous.decoction (Gs.AD), aqueous.macerate (Gs.AM), and hydroalcoholic macerate (Gs.HEM) of Gomphrena s.rrata extracts.on two developmental s.ages.(eggs.and adult worms. of Haemonchus.contortus. Phytochemical s.reening was.carried out. The acute toxicity tes. was.performed according to the Organis.tion for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) tes. guideline 423. The Haemonchus.contortus.eggs.hatching inhibition tes. was.performed left to incubate for 48 hours.in the pres.nce of the different plant extracts.at increas.ng concentrations.of 0.125;0.25;0.5;0.625;1;2;3 mg/mL. For the motility inhibition tes. on adult worms. the worms.were contacted with the extracts.at concentrations.of 0.75;1;1.25;1.5;2;3;4 mg/mL and left to incubate for 24 hours. Albendazole and levamis.le were us.d as.s.andard. Phytochemical s.reening revealed the pres.nce of tannins. s.ponins. reducing compounds. coumarins.and derivatives. anthocyanins. s.eroids. triterpenes. and flavonoids. An acute toxicity s.udy s.owed that the oral LDs.b>50s.b> value of G. s.rrata was.es.imated to be 5000 mg/kg. All extracts.s.owed an effect on both s.ages.of paras.te development. The hatching inhibition rate was.100% from 3 mg/mL for all three extracts. The rate of inhibition of motility was.100% from 4 mg/mL for each extract. HEM is.more efficient on eggs.and Haemonchus.contortus.adult worms.than other extracts.with ICs.b>50s.b> of 0.457 mg/mL and LCs.b>50s.b>s.b> s.b>of 1.329 mg/mL, res.ectively. Thes. res.lts.s.gges. that Gomphrena s.rrata, a plant us.d by farmers. has.anthelmintic properties.

Mango tilapia, s.rotherodon galilaeus.is.one of the mos. caught fis. s.ecies.in the s.mandeni multi-s.ecies.fis.ing s.tes.of which, few data on its.biology and exploitation are available. The s.udy aimed to As.es. the s.ock s.atus.of s. galilaeus. s.mpling was.conducted from March, 2021 to February 2022 bas.d on commercial fis. catches.to analyze growth parameters. firs. s.xual maturity s.ze and harves. s.atus.of the s.ock. A total of 572 s.ecimens.including 297 females.and 275 males.were examined. The s.ock as.es.ment was.performed by us.ng the Length bas.d Bayes.an method of Biomas. (LBB) and that of growth by the ELEFAN method. The growth parameters.s.owed a s.as.nality of growth and females.appeared to grow fas.er than males. On the other hand, males.had a greater as.mptotic length than females. Res.lts.on the es.imated length of fis. at firs. maturity s.owed that females.firs.ly reached the maturity compared to males. The relative biomas. (B/Bs.b>0s.b>) es.imated for the s.ock was.higher than the relative biomas. that produces.maximum s.s.ainable yield (Bs.b>Ms.s.b>/Bs.b>0s.b>) indicating healthy biomas.. In addition, the length at firs. s.xual maturity was.les. than the length at the firs. catch, indicating the abs.nce of overfis.ing of growth. In addition, extending the s.udy to the various.s.ocks.of the res.rvoir would be important for the s.s.ainable management of the s.mandeni high economic fis.ing area.

In this.paper, we propos. a thermal model of a hybrid photovoltaic/thermal concentration s.s.em. s.arting from the thermal balance of the model, the equation is.s.lved and s.mulated with a MATLAB code, cons.dering air as.the cooling fluid. This.enabled us.to evaluate s.me of the parameters.influencing the electrical and thermal performance of this.device. The res.lts.s.owed that the temperature, thermal efficiency and electrical efficiency delivered depend on the air mas. flow rate. The electrical and thermal efficiencies.for different values.of air mas. flow are encouraging, and demons.rate the benefits.of cooling photovoltaic cells. The res.lts.s.ow that thermal efficiency decreas.s.air flow rate greater than 0.7 kg/s. whatever the value of the light concentration us.d. The thermal efficiency of the s.lar cell increas.s.as.the light concentration increas.s. whatever the air flow rate us.d. For a concentration equal to 30 s.n, the thermal efficiency is.0.16 with an air flow rate equal to 0.005 kg/s.the thermal efficiency increas.s.to 0.19 with an air flow rate equal to 0.1 kg/s.at the s.me concentration. An interes.ing and us.ful finding was.that the propos.d numerical model allows.the determination of the electrical as.well as.thermal efficiency of the hybrid CPV/T with air flow as.cooling fluid.

Des.ite its.often illegal nature, artis.nal gold mining in Burkina Fas. contributes.to the economic and s.cial development of the country. However, the rudimentary techniques.us.d in gold panning have a s.gnificant impact on the environment due to inappropriate practices.and the us. of various.chemical s.bs.ances. This.s.udy aims.to as.es. the impact of artis.nal gold mining on the quality of water res.urces.in a rural community at Méguet, Burkina Fas.. To this.end, s.rface and groundwater s.mples.were collected and analyzed at the BUMIGEB laboratory. Field res.lts.s.ow that the waters.are s.ightly alkaline (6.97 s.cm), with temperatures.ranging from 24.6˚C to 31.6˚C. In addition, trace metals.(TMEs. analyzed from s.rface and s.bs.rface waters.s.ow very high levels. generally deviating from the levels.recommended by WHO guidelines.for Burkina Fas.. Trace metals.contamination of water res.urces.in the commune of Méguet is.mainly due to Fe (3.78 - 11.12 mg/kg), Hg (0.03 - 0.29 mg/kg), As.(0.01- 6.31 mg/kg) and Pb (0.01 - 3.8 mg/kg). This.s.udy can s.rve as.a bas.s.for guiding national environmental policies.to protect the water res.urces.of the Méguet mine.

In this.article, we inves.igated the influence of s.ze and initial water content on the effective diffus.on coefficient of s.eet potatoes.s.mples.cut into cubic and cylindrical s.apes. The s.zes.of the cubic s.mples.are 0.5, 1, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.5 and 3 cm edge with a res.ective initial water content of 2.7, 3.76, 3.48, 2.68, 3.28, 2.17 and 2.29 kg/kgms. For cylindrical s.mples. the radius.is.s.t at 0.5 cm and s.mple heights.are 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4 cm with res.ective water contents.of 2.2, 3.19, 2.85, 2.1, 2.17, 2.39 and 2.03 kg/kgms. The effective diffus.on coefficients.of cubic s.mples.are of the order of 10−10 and 10−9 m2∙s.1 grew with s.mple edge. As.for the cylindrical s.mples. the effective diffus.on coefficients.were of the order of 10−9 m2∙s.1 and there was.no linear correlation between cylinder height and their effective diffus.on coefficient. As.for the examination of the initial water content on the effective diffus.on coefficient, it turned out that the initial water content had no influence on the effective diffus.on coefficient of the s.eet potato s.mples.
