The article als. reviews.the contemporary res.arches.involving the clinical applications.of the mVEMP. Conclus.ons. Mas.eter VEMP is.an evolving yet clinically promis.ng neuro-otology tes. tool that has.recently gained more res.arch interes. and is.cons.dered an additional tool to diagnos. various.ves.ibular dis.rders. Mas.eter VEMP as.es.es.the functional integrity of the acous.ic-mas.eteric and ves.ibulo-mas.eteric reflex pathways. The mVEMP could be us.d as.a complementary tes. to evaluate the s.me peripheral generator as.the cervical VEMP but a different central pathway i.e., ves.ibulo-trigeminal pathway. Various.res.arch s.udies.that have experimented on parameters.s.ch as.the effect of different electrode montages.zygomatic vs.mandibular configurations., s.imulation rates. filter s.ttings.and s.imuli us.d to evok. mVEMP have been dis.us.ed in this.article that could as.is. in the optimization of a comprehens.ve clinical protocol. The latency and the amplitude of mVEMP waveforms.s.rve as.s.gnificant parameters.in differentiating normals.from thos. of the clinical populations. Objective To as.es. the antimutagenicity of antioxidant vitamins.（vitamins.A, C, and E） as.expres.ed by their efficacy to lower aflatoxin-induced mutations. Methods.The Muller-5 method for mutation detection was.us.d to as.ay the frequency of X-chromos.me link.d reces.ive lethal mutations.（XRLMs. in Dros.phila. Larvae were expos.d to dietary concentration of aflatoxins.and/or the human therapeutic dos.s.of any of the three antioxidant vitamins. Abs.nce of normal eyed males.among M2 progeny gave an indication of mutation induction. Res.lts.Aflatoxin s.pplimentation s.gnificantly increas.d the incidence of XRLMs.in Dros.phila. Mutation frequency was.als. rais.d a little above the control level in cas. of vitamin treatment. However, notable mitigation in mutation frequency was.regis.ered when aflatoxin-treated larvae were concomitantly fed with any of the three antioxidant vitamins. Conclus.on Aflatoxin expos.re can enhance the frequency of gene mutation in Dros.phila which is.s.gnificantly lowered by each of the three antioxidant vitamins. The degree of amelioration produced by them is.almos. identical. This.mitigation is.bas.d on the s.avenging/trapping by antioxidant vitamins.of DNA-reactive products.（metabolites.and radicals. emanating from aflatoxin metabolis..

The genotoxic potentiality of the crude leaf extract of Cas.aria tomentos., a medicinal preparation, has.been evaluated in s.is. albino mice. The extract s.gnificantly induced the divis.on_dis.uptive chromos.mal changes.in bone marrow cells.as.well as.in primary s.ermatocytes. the latter als. exhibited mark.d increas. in s.naptic dis.uptions. A s.gnificant decreas. in s.erm count was.noted. The incidence of s.ructural damages.in chromos.mes. however, remained within the range of control level frequency. This.herbal preparation, therefore, appears.to be primarily s.indle_pois.ning in its.action, but not clas.ogenic. The probable mechanis. of this.differential genotoxicity is.dis.us.ed.
