Inherent twinnability of face-centered-cubic（fcc） metals was analyzed based on the direct competition between twinning partial dislocation nucleation and trailing partial dislocation nucleation,with which the twinnability of fcc metals can be simply expressed as function of the stacking-fault energy,the unstable stacking-fault energy,and the unstable twinningfault energy of fcc *** predicted twinnability ranking matched well with former experimental results and provided a physical insight to understand twinnability from crystallographic orientation and fault energy parameters.

Recommendation-aware Content Caching(RCC)at the edge enables a significant reduction of the network latency and the backhaul load,thereby invigorating ubiquitous latency-sensitive innovative ***,the effectiveness of RCC strategies is highly dependent on explicit information as regards subscribers’content request patterns,the sophisticated caching placement policy,and the personalized recommendation *** this article,we investigate how the potentials of Artificial Intelligence(AI)and optimization techniques can be harnessed to address those core issues and facilitate the full implementation of RCC for the upcoming intelligent 6G *** this end,we first elaborate on the hierarchical RCC network ***,the devised AI and optimization empowered paradigm is introduced,whereas AI and optimization techniques are leveraged to predict the users’content preferences in real-time situations with the assistance of their historical behavior data and determine the cache pushing and recommendation decision,*** extensive case studies,we validate the effectiveness of AI-based predictors in estimating users’content preference and the superiority of optimized RCC policies over the conventional *** last,we shed light on the opportunities and challenges in the future.

Particulate composites are one of the widely used materials in producing numerous state-of-the-art components in biomedical,automobile,aerospace including defence *** of modelling techniques have been adopted in the past to model mechanical behaviour of particulate *** to their favourable properties,particle-based methods provide a convenient platform to model failure or fracture of these *** particle hydrodynamics(sPH)is one of such methods which demonstrate excellent potential for modelling failure or fracture of particulate composites in a Lagrangian *** of the major challenges in using sPH method for modelling composite materials depends on accurate and efficient way to treat interface and boundary *** this paper,a masterslave method based multi-freedom constraints is proposed to impose essential boundary conditions and interfacial displacement constraints in modelling mechanical behaviour of composite materials using sPH *** proposed methodology enforces the above constraints more accurately and requires only smaller condition number for system stiffness matrix than the procedures based on typical penalty function approach.A minimum cut-off value-based error criteria is employed to improve the computational efficiency of the proposed *** addition,the proposed method is further enhanced by adopting a modified numerical interpolation scheme along the boundary to increase the accuracy and computational *** numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed master-slave approach yields better accuracy in enforcing displacement constraints and requires approximately the same computational time as that of penalty method.

Formation of β’ phase in long-period stacking ordered(LPsO) structures in an Mg;Co;Y;(at.%) alloy after aging at 200 °C for 24 h or electron beam(EB) irradiation has been studied by high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADFsTEM). β’ phase was precipitated only in the Mg matrix but not in LPsO structures after aging at 200 °C for 24 h. LPsO structure containing stacking defects transforms into the β’-long phase during EB irradiation, which plays a key role in accelerating solute atoms’ diffusion. New complex β’(LPsO) structures formed in the alloy after EB irradiation, such as β’(12 H) structure with an orthorhombic lattice(Mg;Y, Cmcm,a = 2 _(a0)= 0.642 nm, b=4√3_(a0), c = 6 _(c0)= 3.12 nm).

Mg-1.0Al-1.0Ca-0.4Mn(AXM1104, wt.%) low alloy was extruded at 200 ℃ with an extrusion ratio of 25 and different ram speeds from 1.0 to 7.0 mm/s. The influence of extrusion rate on microstructure and mechanical properties of the AXM1104 alloy was systematically studied. With the increasing of extrusion rate, the mean dynamically recrystallized(DRXed) grain size of the low alloy and average particles diameter of precipitate second phases were increased, while the degree of grain boundary segregation and the intensity of the basal fiber texture were decreased. With the rising of extrusion rate from 1.0 to 7.0 mm/s, the tensile yield strength(TYs) of the as-extruded AXM1104 alloy was decreased from 445 MPa to 249 MPa, while the elongation to failure(EL) was increased from 5.0% to 17.6%. The TYs, ultimate tensile strength(UTs) and EL of the AXM1104 alloy extruded at the ram speed of 1.5 mm/s was 412 MPa, 419 MPa and 12.0%, respectively,exhibiting comprehensive tensile mechanical properties with ultra-high strength and excellent plasticity. The ultra-high TYs of 412 MPa was mainly due to the strengthening from ultra-fine DRXed grains with segregation of solute atoms at grain boundaries. The strain hardening rate is increase slightly with increasing extrusion speed, which may be ascribed to the increasing mean DRXed grain size with rising extrusion speed. The higher strain hardening rate contributes to the higher EL of these AXM1104 samples extruded at higher ram speed.

The largest robust stability radius r(P0) of a system P0 is defined as the radius of the largest ball Bmax in the gap metric centered at P0 which can be stabilized by one single controller. Any controller which stabilizes Bmax is called an optimally robust controller of P0. Any controller, regarded as a system, should have its own largest robust stability radius also. In this paper it is shown that the largest robust stability radius of any optimally robust controller of P0 is larger than or equal to r(Po). Moreover, the variation of the closed-loop transfer matrix caused by the perturbation of the system is estimated.

This paper focuses on the scheduling problem in assembly islands environment with fixed-position layouts. In such configuration, the product normally remains in one location for its entire manufacturing period while machines, materials and workers are moved to an assembly site called an assembly island. This production layout has some unique features such as moving assembly workers, tools and materials; limited space at assembly site; considerable distance between islands. The authors first give the definition and mathematical model for the scheduling problem and then propose a two-level genetic algorithm to obtain a near optimal solution to minimize the makespan. Experimental results show that this algorithm is effective. The performance analysis of the proposed algorithm indicates that it is more efficient in the airline or shipbuilding industry than in the machine or tool final assembly companies.
