Machine learning empowers efficient design of ternary organic solar cells with PM6 donor

Organic solar cells(Oscs) hold great potential as a photovoltaic technology for practical ***, the traditional experimental trial-and-error method for designing and engineering Oscs can be complex, expensive, and time-consuming. Machine learning(ML) techniques enable the proficient extraction of information from datasets, allowing the development of realistic models that are capable of predicting the efficacy of materials with commendable accuracy. The PM6 donor has great potential for high-performance Oscs. However, it is crucial for the rational design of a ternary blend to accurately forecast the power conversion efficiency(PcE) of ternary Oscs(TOscs) based on a PM6 ***, we collected the device parameters of PM6-based TOscs and evaluated the feature importance of their molecule descriptors to develop predictive models. In this study, we used five different ML algorithms for analysis and prediction. For the analysis, the classification and regression tree provided different rules, heuristics, and patterns from the heterogeneous dataset. The random forest algorithm outperforms other prediction ML algorithms in predicting the output performance of PM6-based TOscs. Finally, we validated the ML outcomes by fabricating PM6-based TOscs. Our study presents a rapid strategy for assessing a high PcE while elucidating the substantial influence of diverse descriptors.

changes in post-keratoplasty astigmatism after suture removal:refraction vs tomography vs aberrometry

AIM:To analyse the changes in magnitude and orientation of astigmatism after suture removal(sR)in keratoplasty eyes as measured by refraction,tomography,and ***:Twenty-six eyes of 25 patients after optical keratoplasty requiring sR to reduce the astigmatism during the follow-up period were prospectively *** with poor quality topography scans or if there were no sutures in the steepest semi meridian were *** distance visual acuity(cDVA),manifest refraction,corneal tomography and aberrometr y were per formed on all patients before and after ***:The mean age of the patients was 40.8±14.4 *** keratoplasty was performed in 23 eyes(89%)and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty was done in 3 eyes(11%).There was a statistically significant reduction in the magnitude of refractive,tomographic and aberrometry astigmatism after sR(Psuture *** mean net reduction of the astigmatism was greater as measured by corneal tomography compared to refractive astigmatism(Ps no statistically significant change in refractive astigmatism between 2 h and 2 mo after sR(P=0.55).Vector calculations demonstrated a greater amount of undercorrection in the tomography group and the rotational error was more towards counterclockwise *** monocular log MAR cDVA improved from 0.57 D to 0.49 D after sR(P=0.002).cONcLUsION:The net reduction in the magnitude of astigmatism after sR is greater in the tomography and aberrometry *** one episode of sR,there is no difference in the aberration profile.

AIM:To compare the difference of capsulotomy produced by precision pulse capsulotomy(PPc),manual(M-ccc),and femtosecond laser assisted capsulotomy(FLAc)in relation to intraocular lens(IOL)centration,circularity and its effect on visual ***:Prospective,non-randomized comparative study conducted at LV Prasad Eye Institute,Hyderabad,*** eyes of 52 patients were grouped into 3(FLAc,PPc and M-ccc)based on capsulotomy techniques *** consecutive eyes with uneventful phacoemulsification and with no comorbidities affecting the capsulotomy or visual outcome were included in each *** main outcome measure was IOL centration in relation to capsulotomy and *** outcome measures were post-operative visual acuity,manifest refraction and aberration profile between ***:At 5 wk the visual,refractive outcomes and endothelial cell density were comparable between the 3 *** median circularity index of FLAc was statistically significantly different to M-ccc or PPc(1-10)groups(Pc(11-20)was comparable to *** of IOL center in relation to capsulotomy was seen only between the PPc(1-10)group and FLAc group(P=0.02).The IOL was well centered in relation to the pupil in all the groups(P=0.46).The quality of vision parameters like the higher order aberrations,spherical aberration,coma,trefoil,modular transfer function,and strehl ratio were comparable between the ***:Our study shows that despite differences in the morphology of capsulotomy produced by PPc,M-ccc,FLAc a well-centered IOL can be *** measured capsular morphology parameters do not affect visual outcomes.

Intralenticular metallic foreign body: a case report

A case of retained intralenticular iron piece with signs of mild anterior uveitis at the time of presentation is reported in a 45 year-old man. His vision improved with topical cycloplegics and corticosteroids. After six months, his vision deteriorated grossly due to cataract formation. He regained good vision following removal of foreign body, extracapsular extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation. This case highlights the conservative management of the condition till the patient develops cataract resulting in visual disability; and good visual recovery following cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation.

The myth of “minima” and “maxima”,the species of Physalis in the Indian subcontinent

The status of the names, Physalis minima L. and P. maxima Mill. (solanaceae), and their alleged presence on the Indian subcontinent are discussed. The issues of nativity and identity of Linnaean Physalis minima are long-debated while the use of the name P. maxima Mill. and its report from India are recent. The available evidence indicates that the name "P. minima L." is misapplied to two different elements, viz., P. angulata L. and P. lagascae Roem. & schult. The name Physalis minima L. may be rejected as nomen confusum, for which the paper provides the primary information. As on today, it is submerged under the synonymy of P. angulata L. The correct name for the widely known P. minima is P. lagascae. The name "P. maxima Mill." applied to the escape and naturalized weed in the Indian subcontinent and elsewhere is to be substituted by P. pruinosa L., a name misapplied to P. grisea (Waterf.) M. Martínez.

Adverse outcomes in type 1 diabetic pregnant women with proliferative diabetic retinopathy

AIM: To report maternal and fetal adverse outcomes, in spite of appropriate treatment and regular follow up, in diabetic pregnant women with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. METHODs: case series of four young pregnant diabetics aged between 20 and 25 years with type 1 diabetes mellitus and proliferative diabetic retrinopathy. REsULTs: The maternal adverse outcomes were abortion in one patient, pre-eclampsia and preterm delivery in one patient, and renal failure requiring dialysis in one patient. The fetal adverse outcomes were neonatal death in one case and premature baby in another case. cONcLUsION: These cases highlight the fact that diabetic pregnant women should be closely followed up by the obstetricians and physicians when they have proliferative retinopathy. The proliferative diabetic retinopathy should be considered as a part of the assessment when counseling a diabetic woman in antenatal check up and also in the follow up visits during pregnancy.

Bilateral scleromalacia perforans and peripheral corneal thinning in Wegener's granulomatosis

A rare case of bilateral scleromalacia perforans, bilateral peripheral corneal thinning (contact lens cornea) and unilateral orbital inflammatory disease in a 50 year old female patient with an indolent form Wegener's granulomatosis(WG) involving lungs and sinuses is reported. The patient survived for 12 years after the initial diagnosis of systemic disease. There was perforation of left globe following trauma and no perforation of the right globe till the last follow up of the patient.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of similar and dissimilar metal gas tungsten constricted arc welds:Maraging steel to 13-8 Mo stainless steel

Maraging steel (250) and 13-8 Mo stainless steel plates were joined by gas tungsten constricted arc welding(GTcAW) process in similar and dissimilar metal combinations using 13-8 Mo stainless steel filler wire. The similar and dissimilar metal welds made in solutionized condition were subjected to standard post weld hardening treatments direct ageing at 485 ℃, soaking for 31/2 hours followed by air cooling(ageing treatment of maraging steel) and direct ageing at 510 ℃, soaking for 4 h followed by air cooling(ageing treatment of 13-8 Mo stainless steel). The joint characterization studies include microstructure examination, microhardness survey across the weldments and transverse weld tensile *** and dissimilar metal weldments responded to both the post weld ageing treatment. After post weld aging, increase in yield strength, UTs and slight reduction in % elongation of similar and dissimilar metal were observed. The observed tensile properties were correlated with microstructure and hardness distribution across the welds.

Entropy generation analysis of tangent hyperbolic fluid in quadratic Boussinesq approximation using spectral quasi-linearization method

In many industrial applications,heat transfer and tangent hyperbolic fluid flow processes have been garnering increasing attention,owing to their immense importance in technology,engineering,and *** processes are relevant for polymer solutions,porous industrial materials,ceramic processing,oil recovery,and fluid *** present tangent hyperbolic fluid flow and heat transfer model accurately predicts the shear-thinning phenomenon and describes the blood flow ***,the entropy production analysis of a non-Newtonian tangent hyperbolic material flow through a vertical microchannel with a quadratic density temperature fluctuation(quadratic/nonlinear Boussinesq approximation)is performed in the present *** impacts of the hydrodynamic flow and Newton’s thermal conditions on the flow,heat transfer,and entropy generation are *** governing nonlinear equations are solved with the spectral quasi-linearization method(sQLM).The obtained results are compared with those calculated with a finite element method and the bvp4c *** addition,the effects of key parameters on the velocity of the hyperbolic tangent material,the entropy generation,the temperature,and the Nusselt number are *** entropy generation increases with the buoyancy force,the pressure gradient factor,the non-linear convection,and the Eckert *** non-Newtonian fluid factor improves the magnitude of the velocity *** power-law index of the hyperbolic fluid and the Weissenberg number are found to be favorable for increasing the temperature *** buoyancy force caused by the nonlinear change in the fluid density versus temperature improves the thermal energy of the system.
