Designing highly active,durable,and nonprecious metal-based bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water electrolysis is of urgent scientific importance to realize the sustainable hydrogen production,which remains a grand ***,an innovative approach is demonstrated to synthesize flower-like 3D homogenous trimetallic Mn,Ni,Co phosphide catalysts directly on nickel foam via electrodeposition followed by plasma *** electrochemical activity of the catalysts with varying Mn:Ni:Co ratios is assessed to identify the optimal composition,demonstrating that the equimolar trimetallic phosphide yields an outstanding HER catalytic performance with a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) at an ultra-low overpotential of~14 mV,outperforming the best reported *** is asserted by the DFT calculations,revealing strong interaction of the metals and the P atom,resulting in enhanced water activation and optimized G_(H)^(*)values for the HER ***,this optimal composition appreciably catalyzes the OER by exposing more intrinsic active species in-situ formed on the catalyst surface during the ***,the Mn_(1)-Ni_(1)-Co_(1)-P-(O)/NF catalyst exhibits a decreased overpotential of~289 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2).More importantly,the electrocatalyst sustains perfect durability up to 48 h at a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) and continued 5000 cycling stability for both HER and ***,the assembled MNC-P/NF||MNC-P/NF full water electrolyzer system attains an extremely low cell voltage of 1.48 V at 10 mA cm^(-2).significantly,the robust stability of the overall system results in a remarkable current retention of~96%after a continuous 50-h ***,this study provides a facile design and a scalable construction of superb bifunctional ternary MNC-phosphide electrocatalysts for efficient electrochemical energy production systems.

Influence of Fly Ash and sewage sludge Application on Cadmium and Lead sorption by an Acidic Alfisol

The safe recycling of fly ash (FA) and sewage sludge (ss) in the agricultural processes comprises an important environmental technology on waste management. soils amended with FA and ss may change their ability to adsorb heavy metals due to either increase of soil pH or decomposition of sludge-borne organic matter. Thus, Cd and Pb sorption was investigated by 1-month incubation under soil moisture content at field capacity and room temperature with an acidic Typic Haploxeroalf from central Greece amended with varying amounts of FA and ss. Batch experiments were conducted by equilibrating the soil samples with CaCl2 solutions containing 0-400 mg Pb L-1 or 0-100 mg Cd L-1. The results showed that the Freundlich equation described well the Cd and Pb sorption. Distribution coefficient (Kd) values of Pb were higher than those of Cd in all the treatments of this study. Application of FA increased Kd values for Cd and Pb to 8.2 and 2.3 times more than the controls, respectively. simultaneous applications of FA and ss caused a Kd increase of 3.8 and 2.1 times compared to the treatments that received only ss for Cd and Pb, respectively. Treatment of ss alone did not significantly change Cd and Pb sorption compared to the controls. The sorption reactions seemed to be mainly affected by soil pH, which was revealed by the significant correlations of Cd and Pb sorption with soil pH. These suggested that fly ash was very useful as a low-cost adsorbent for Cd and Pb and could be used as an ameliorant for biosolid-amended acidic soils.

Association of Hepatitis C Virus Infection and Type 2 Diabetes in Egypt: A Hospital-Based study

Background: The relation between hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of an association between T2DM and HCV. Methods: A case control study was conducted at the outpatients’ clinics of Kasr El-Aini Hospital (KAH), from October 2013 till March 2014. In this study, 389 HCV patients were selected as cases and 389 healthy controls were also included. Demographic and clinical data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Laboratory investigations including liver function tests (LFT), blood glucose level and radioimmunoblot assay (ELIsA) were performed. Results: Out of 389 HCV cases, 219 (56.3%) were diabetic, whereas 145 (37.3%) were diabetic among the healthy controls. Occurrence of diabetes among cirrhotic patients was 1.7 times higher than non-cirrhotic. Logistic regression showed that residence (P smoking (P = 0.04, OR = 2) were the predictive factors for occurrence of T2DM in HCV patients. Conclusions: In this study, we found a positive association between HCV infection and T2DM. Residence, occupation and smoking were the predictive factors for the association of T2DM in HCV patients, whereas hypertension and BMI were only adjunctive factors.

Astrophysical s-factor and reaction rate for 15N(p,γ)16O within the modified potential cluster model

The autophagy protein Atg9 functions in glia and contributes to parkinsonian symptoms in a Drosophila model of Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by motor deficits,dopaminergic neuron loss,and brain accumulation ofα-synuclein aggregates called Lewy *** in protein degradation pathways,such as autophagy,has been demonstrated in neurons as a critical mechanism for eliminating protein aggregates in Parkinson’s ***,it is less well understood how protein aggregates are eliminated in glia,the other cell type in the *** the present study,we show that autophagy-related gene 9(Atg9),the only transmembrane protein in the autophagy machinery,is highly expressed in Drosophila glia from adult *** from immunostaining and live cell imaging analysis reveal that a portion of Atg9 localizes to the trans-Golgi network,autophagosomes,and lysosomes in ***9 is persistently in contact with these *** glial atg9 reduces the number of omegasomes and autophagosomes,and impairs autophagic substrate *** suggests that glial Atg9 participates in the early steps of autophagy,and hence the control of autophagic ***,loss of glial atg9 induces parkinsonian symptoms in Drosophila including progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons,locomotion deficits,and glial *** findings identify a functional role of Atg9 in glial autophagy and establish a potential link between glial autophagy and Parkinson’s *** results may provide new insights on the underlying mechanism of Parkinson’s disease.

social media are interactive computer mediated technology that facilitates the sharing of information via virtual communities and networks. And Twitter is one of the most popular social media for social interaction and microblogging. This paper introduces an improved system model to analyze twitter data and detect terrorist attack event. In this model, a ternary search is used to find the weights of predefined keywords and the Aho-Corasick algorithm is applied to perform pattern matching and assign the weight which is the main contribution of this paper. Weights are categorized into three categories: Terror attack, severe Terror Attack and Normal Data and the weights are used as attributes for classification. K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and support Vector Machine (sVM) are two machine learning algorithms used to predict whether a terror attack happened or not. We compare the accuracy with our actual data by using confusion matrix and measure whether our result is right or wrong and the achieved result shows that the proposed model performs better.
