Annual growth of Fagus orientalis is limited by spring drought conditions in Iran’s Golestan Province

Due to the lack of a uniform and accurate defi-nition of‘drought’,several indicators have been introduced based on different variables and methods,and the efficiency of each of these is determined according to their relationship with *** relationship between two drought indices,sPI(standardized precipitation index)and sPEI(standard-ized precipitation-evapotranspiration index)in different sea-sons was investigated using annual rings of 15 tree samples to determine the effect of drought on the growth of oriental beech(Fagus orientalis Lipsky)in the Hyrcanian forests of northern *** different evapotranspiration calcula-tion methods were evaluated on sPEI efficiency based on Hargreaves-samani,Thornthwaite,and Penman-Monteith methods using the step-by-step M5 decision tree regression *** results show that sPEI based on the Penman-Monteith in a three-month time scale(spring)had similar temporal changes and a better relationship with annual tree rings(R^(2)=0.81)at a 0.05 significant *** change and a decreasing trend in the time series of annual tree rings are similar to the variation in the sPEI based on the Penman-Monteith *** affecting evapotranspiration,temperature,wind speed,and sunshine hours(used in the Penman-Monteith method),increased but precipitation *** non-linear modeling methods,sPEI based on Penman-Monteith best illustrated climate changes affecting tree growth.

Cross-focusing of two chirped Gaussian laser beams and THz wave generation in plasmas of multi-ion species under a weakly relativistic and ponderomotive regime

The generation of terahertz(THz)waves via the beating of two high-intensity chirped Gaussian lasers in a multi-ion-species plasma is numerically studied by taking into account the weak relativistic and ponderomotive regime of *** coupled differential equations for beamwidth parameters are extracted by introducing the dielectric function of such plasma and using WKB and paraxial ray *** amplitude of THz radiation at beat frequency resulting from the nonlinear current density induced by the beat ponderomotive force of the cross-focusing of beams was *** impacts of the chirp frequency parameter,initial laser intensity and initial ionic species density(specifically,the presence of singly and doubly charged ions)in the plasma on THz generation were *** numerical results reveal that THz radiation generation strongly depends on the chirp frequency parameter.A specific range of chirp frequencies exists for self-focusing as well as THz generation with a'turning point',where the THz emission reaches its maximum *** results show that the strength of self-focusing and consequently the generated THz radiation are reduced by increasing the density of doubly charged ionic species in the plasma due to the suppression of the nonlinear effects.

The Cobourg limestone is a very low porosity rock consisting of lighter nodular regions that are predominantly calcite and darker regions consisting of calcite,quartz,dolomite,and an appreciable clay *** paper presents the application of the theory of multi-phasic composites to estimate the possible maximum effective thermal conductivity of the heterogeneous *** thermal conductivity estimates are expected to be representative of the intact rock,without fractures or fissures that can influence the heat conduction *** estimates are therefore indicative of the thermal properties of the rock in undisturbed regions unaffected by the influences of stress relief and excavation damage during construction of deep ground repositories for the disposal of heat-emitting nuclear waste.

Nonlinear corrections for the nuclear gluon distribution in eA processes

An analytical study with respect to the nonlinear corrections for the nuclear gluon distribution function in the next-to-leading order approximation at small x is *** consider the nonlinear corrections to the nuclear gluon distribution functions at low values of x and Q^(2) using the parametrization F_(2)(x,Q^(2))and the nuclear modification factors obtained from the Khanpour-soleymaninia-Atashbar-spiesberger-Guzey *** CT18 gluon distribution is used for the baseline proton gluon density at Q^(2)_(0)=*** discuss the behavior of the gluon densities in the next-to-leading order and the next-to-next-to-leading order approximations at the initial scale Q^(2)_(0),as well as the modifications due to the nonlinear *** find that the QCD nonlinear corrections are more significant for the next-to-leading order accuracy than the next-to-next-to-leading order for light and heavy *** results of the nonlinear GLR-MQ evolution equation are similar to those obtained with the Rausch-Guzey-Klasen gluon upward and downward evolutions within the *** magnitude of the gluon distribution with the nonlinear corrections increases with a decrease in x and an increase in atomic number A.

Evolution of biomass particles during pelletization process

Pulverizing is an essential unit operation in co-firing biomass with *** are only compatible with pellet forms of fibrous biomass materials and crush them down to their original forming particle *** is why the data on the size distribution of the particles forming a biomass pellet is crucial to achieving optimum combustion *** current study determines the internal particle size distribution of pellets after wet disintegration,following Iso 17830 standard,and aims to suggest improvements to the mentioned standard based on new measured *** were carried out on white wood pellets(no bark)and brown wood pellets containing bark at four water temperatures:20,40,60,and 95℃,with or without *** particle size distribution of the pre-pelletizer wood particles was also measured and compared with particles in the formed *** water temperature of 20℃ was found to be adequate for the complete disintegration of pellets,and no mechanical stirring was *** 30% of particles in the disintegrated pellets were 0.5-1.0 *** changes the particle size distribution to smaller *** disintegrated bark pellets contained more fines than white pellets.

The Qom Formation is the most important hydrocarbon reservoir target in Central *** Qom platform developed in a back-arc basin during the Oligo-Miocene due to the closing of the Tethyan *** formation consists of a variety of carbonate and non-carbonate facies deposited on a platform ranging from supratidal to basin.A combination of tectonic and eustatic events led to some lateral and vertical facies variations in the study *** third-order depositional sequences and related surfaces were identified regarding vertical facies changes in the studied sections of this Oligo-Miocene *** to all results and data,this succession was initially deposited during the Chattian upon a distally steepened ramp of siliciclastic-carbonate composition,including the Bouma ***,from the late Chattian to the Aquitanian,the platform changed into a homoclinal carbonate ramp with a gentle *** respect to tectonic activity,this phase was a calm period during the deposition of the Qom ***,a drowned carbonate platform and a rimmed shelf emerged during the Burdigalian,terminated by the continental deposits of the Upper Red *** all geological characteristics,three main tectono-eustatic evolutionary phases have been recognized in the Qom back-arcbasin.
