Towards Developing communication strategies for HIV/AIDs control among the scheduled Tribes and scheduled castes Women in Three Northeastern states of India

HIV/AIDs spread has opened a Pandora of medical and health problems apart from creating serious socio-psychological trauma for the victims and their families. Despite the governmental effort to curve the growing infection, very little success has been achieved. The northeastern region of India presents a very peculiar situation due to recurrent insurgency in all its states for long time and thus it became instrumental in paralyzing the social and health machineries to an extent, which still deteriorated the futile national effort to check the deadly infection. The study tried to understand the level of awareness and correct knowledge among the underprivileged scheduled tribes and scheduled castes women in the age group 15 -44 by exploring data from district level of Rapid Household Reproductive and child Health Project Phase I (1998) and Phase II (1999) for Assam, Manipur and Nagaland and suggested a strategy to control the infection in the region. It is found that HIV/AIDs awareness was 59% among the women in all the three states with very few among them who had correct understanding of its prevention. A pronounced difference in the level of awareness was observed with respect to age, economy and residential status of the respondents.

Objective:To identify the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis(sTH)among school-age children in the cagayan Valley,the Philippines,assess their level of awareness on the disease,and determine predisposing factors of the ***:A total of 478 GradesⅢ-Ⅴschool-age children in Pamplona and sanchez-Mira school Districts in the cagayan Valley answered the questionnaire assessing their knowledge,attitude,and practices on sTH,subjected to anthropometric measurements,and provided faecal samples for parasitologic assessment(direct smear,Kato-Katz,and formol-ether concentration techniques).Results:The participants of the study,with 55.86%females,were 8 to 14 years *** nutritional status was assessed‘normal’(84.31%),‘severely wasted’(6.49%),‘wasted’(5.23%),‘overweight’(2.72%),and‘obese’(1.26%).The prevalence of infection with at least 1 sTH species was 25.99%in Pamplona and 19.40%in ***,the prevalence of heavy intensity was 7.11%for Ascaris lumbricoides and 1.67%for Trichuris *** hookworm infections had light *** majority of the school-age children had a low score in the KAP *** knowledge of sTH,‘stunted growth as a symptom of infection’was associated with a lower risk of Ascaris lumbricoides infection(OR 0.448;95%cI 0.212,0.945;P=0.035)while‘playing with soil as a mode of transmission’was associated with an increased risk of Ascaris lumbricoides infection(OR 2.067;95%cI 1.014,4.212;P=0.046).In attitude towards sTH,‘I think I have intestinal worm now’was associated with a higher risk of Ascaris lumbricoides infection(OR 1.681;95%cI 1.061,2.662;P=0.027).conclusions:The prevalence rate of Ascaris lumbricoides among the school-age children in the cagayan Valley shows the need to further intensify intervention in the area to meet the threshold set by the World Health *** identified predictors of infection,which concerns the school-age children’s knowledge and attitude toward sTH,can be used in augmenting

cO_2 laser-micro plasma arc hybrid welding for galvanized steel sheets

A laser lap welding process for zinc-coated steel has a well-known unsolved problem-porosity formation. The boiling temperature of coated zinc is lower than the melting temperature of the base metal, which is steel. In the autogenous laser welding, the zinc vapor generates from the lapped surfaces expels the molten pool and the expulsion causes numerous weld defects, such as spatters and blow holes on the weld surface and porosity inside the welds. The laser-arc hybrid welding was suggested as an alternative method for the laser lap welding because the arc can preheat or post-beat the weldment according to the arrangement of the laser beam and the arc. cO2 laser-micro plasma hybrid welding was applied to the lap welding of zinc-coated steel with zero-gap. The relationships among the weld quality and process parameters of the laser-arc arrangement, and the laser-arc interspacing distance and arc current were investigated using a full-factorial experimental design. The effect of laser-arc arrangement is dominant because the leading plasma arc partially melts the upper steel sheets and vaporizes or oxidizes the coated zinc on the lapped surfaces. compared with the result from the laser-TIG hybrid welding, the heat input from arc can be reduced by 40%.

ADE as Induction Therapy Results in Treatment of children with Non-M3 High-Risk Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an Extrapolable Achievement in Developing countries

Background: In Mexico, AML survival is referred in 30%. Our aim was to evaluate results with ADE protocol as induction treatment in children with non-M3 AML in a public Mexican institution. Method: We included patients with AML in a single institution between 2005 and 2013. All non-M3-AML patients received ADE as induction therapy (cytarabine 100 mg/msup>2sup> in continuous infusion from day 1 to 7, daunorrubicin 30 mg/msup>2sup> days 1, 3, 5 and etoposide 100 mg/msup>2sup> over days 1 to 5). Patients received antibiotic prophylaxis and strict scheduled appointments to assure adherence and prevent avoidable emergencies. Main Results: Eighteen patients were included. Median age was 106 months. One patient died at diagnosis so 17 were eligible for induction results analysis;eleven needed two cycles and six patients three. Remission rate was 100%. Analyzing non-M3 patients overall survival was 80.2% at 100 months. No fatal complications were observed. stratifying by number of cycles we observe that patients receiving one ADE cycle had a 0% overall survival at short follow up, with 2 ADE cycles 80% at 100 months and with 3 cycles 100% at 60 months. conclusion: ADE induction therapy showed improved results in overall survival compared with other standard regimens. Following the protocol we obtained 100% remission. This is an important achievement in our population. Our focus must be to ameliorate maintenance final results. These results should be reproduced in other hospitals in Mexico and other countries.

currently a large effort is being done with the intention to educate people about how much energy each electrical appliance uses in their houses, since this knowledge is the fundamental basis of energy efficiency programs that can be managed by the household owners. This paper presents a simple yet functional non-intrusive method for electric power measurement that can be applied in energy efficiency programs, in order to provide a better knowledge of the energy consumption of the appliances in a home.

The stability of the drug actarit was studied under different stress conditions like hydrolysis（acid,alkaline and neutral）,oxidation,photolysis and thermal degradation as recommended hy International conference on Harmonization（IcH） *** was found to be unstable in acidic,basic and photolytic conditions and produced a common degradation product while oxidative stress condition produced three additional degradation *** was impassive to neutral hydrolysis,dry thermal and accelerated stability *** products were identified,isolated and characterized by different spectroscopic *** and the degradation products were synthesized by a new route using green *** chromatographic separation of the drug and its impurities was achieved in a phenomenex luna c18 column employing a step gradient elution by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to photodiode array and mass spectrometry detectors（HPLc-PDAMs）.A specilic and sensitive stability-indicating assay method for the simultaneous determination of the drug *** process related impurities and degradation products was developed and validated.

Three species have been referred to shantungosuchus to date. The type species s. chuhsienensis (Young, 1961) is represented by an articulated skeleton preserved as an impression of its ventral surface.s. hangjinensis was recently described by Wu et al. (1994) on the basis of an incomplete skull (with the mandible) and the part of the postcranial skeleton. The third species is s. brachycephalus, which will be restudied in the present paper's brachycephalus was erected by Young for a specimen, consisting of partial skull and some postcranial elements (V4020). It was published in one of Young's posthumous papers in 1982. Because the specimen was not fully prepaired when it was studied, Young's original description is very simple and there ekist errors in his identification of bone structures. For example, the four associated cervical vertebrae were described as osteoderms; the teeth are point rather than blunt in tip; and the left ramus of the mandible was identified as the humerus. Further repairation of the specimen shows many unknown features, especially characters from the palate, mandible and vertebrae. Those are sighflcant in our understanding of the morphology of s. brachycephalus and also important in establishing interspecific relationships within the genus.

2008年对印度北方邦东部Gorakhpur、Kushinagar与Maharajganj等3个地区的西葫芦种植区进行调查,发现西葫芦叶片呈现花叶斑点状、卷曲,植株黄化萎缩。以菜豆金色花叶病毒组外壳蛋白基因特异引物AV1-F、AV1-R对从不同地区收集的西葫芦病斑叶片样品进行PcR分析,获得约800 bp的扩增产物。对从Gorakhpur地区获得的分离物的扩增产物进行克隆和序列分析,测序结果提交GenBank核酸序列数据库;通过核酸BLAsT比对和系统发育分析,该分离物与帕兰波番茄曲叶病毒株的同源性最高,达95%,两者遗传关系最近,认为此病毒分离物是帕兰波番茄曲叶病毒株。

Patent documents are unique external sources of information that reveal the core technology underlying new inventions. Patents also serve as a strategic data source that can be mined to discover state-of-the-art technical development and subsequently help guide R＆D investments. This research incorporates an ontology schema to extract and represent patent concepts. A clustering algorithm with non-exhaustive overlaps is proposed to overcome deficiencies with exhaustive clustering methods used in patent mining and technology discovery. The non-exhaustive clustering approach allows for the clustering of patent documents with overlapping technical findings and claims, a feature that enables the grouping of patents that define related key innovations. Legal advisors can use this approach to study potential cases of patent infringement or devise strategies to avoid litigation. The case study demonstrates the use of non-exhaustive overlaps algorithm by clustering Us and Japan radio frequency identification （RFID） patents and by analyzing the legal implications of automated discovery of patent infringement.
