Effect of Interaction Phenolic Compounds with Milk Proteins on Cell Line

Plant flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds, commonly found in vegetables, fruits and many food sources that form a significant portion of our diet. These compounds act as anticancer and anti-proliferative but after interaction with milk proteins they form complexes which become less effective than these compounds alone. Investigation has been conducted to delineate the action of some phenolic compounds of natural origin and complexes formed from interactions between phenolic compounds and milk proteins in three human tumors cell lines: Breast (MCF7), Liver (HePG2) and colon (HCT116), these interactions were studied by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Phenolic compounds have positive effect on human cancer cell lines but after interaction with milk protein and forming complexes, they become less effective than phenolics and some time have negative effect and become pro-cancer;this interaction can be studied by (FTIR) to know which groups do this complex. The spectra were recorded under conditions generally applied in quantitative work. IR spectra were recorded in the region from 4000 - 250 cm–1, but the bands in the region 4000 - 1400 cm–1 were analyzed in detail, since they are characteristic of OH groups while NH groups appeared at (3000 - 4000 cm–1) of various protonic species that undergo hydrogen bonding interaction. Another region of interest was the region from 1800 - 1400 cm–1, characteristic of the bending vibrations of the same group. Since the bands in this region were wide and complex.

Investor Relations （IR） in Business Communication on the Example of Poland

This paper focuses on investor relations (IR) as an element of companies" communication with the external environment. It shows the place and role of IR in communication with the general market, and the stock exchange market in particular. The study is illustrated with an example of IR in Poland, a relatively new European Union (EU) member state and an emerging market. As can be seen, IR goes beyond the traditionally understood maintenance of communication with the capital market. It is also shown that the main role of IR ought to be the reduction of investment risk and enhancement of the companies" value, which is of particular significance in light of the current globalization of capital markets. It has been found that Polish companies, especially those listed on the Warsaw Securities Exchange (WSE), commonly rely on IR as a means of communication with the environment. And yet, as the results of the analysis show, the quality of that communication is still far from satisfactory, despite efforts undertaken by various external entities to encourage more focus on the development of IR, or understanding of the company"s relevant staff of its important role.

Integrated Reporting in Business Communication： On the Example of Polish Listed Companies

This work focuses on integrated reporting as an element of companies" communication with the external environment. It shows the place and role of integrated reporting in system of communication with various stakeholders and with investors in particular. It also proposes that integrated reporting is a concise communication tool depicting how an organization"s strategy, governance, performance, and prospects lead to the creation of value over the short, medium, and long term. This means an integrated representation of a company"s performance in terms of financial and other value relevant information. Thus, integrated reporting goes beyond the traditionally understood business financial reporting. The main aim of this paper is to explain the concept of integrated reporting and to identify the role and place of this reporting type in the system of corporate communication. An additional aim is to show the development of integrated reporting in Poland which is a relatively new EU member as well as emerging market. In conclusion, the considerations stated that the report integrated—-as a report integrating financial and non-financial content, covering both past and future (which facilitates decision making)—-can effectively satisfy the information needs of investors. In Poland, unfortunately, integrated reporting is not widely used. A company which produces integrated reports is based on different standards. This hampers the comparability of these reports and thus reduces their use by stakeholders. In consequence, the information needs of stakeholders are not satisfactorily addressed.

Age, Growth and Distribution of the Antarctic Fish Chaenocephalus Aceratus Based on Otoliths

The Chaenocephalus aceratus were sampled in summers between 1979 and 1990. Their otoliths show pattern of daily microincrements as otoliths of similar species—-Pseudochaenichthys georgianus and fishes both temperate and tropical waters. Changes of the microincrements growth pattern and otolith shape are described in relation to larval, hatching and metamorphosis stages have similar patterns for Ps. georgianus and Champsocephalus gunnari, reflecting similar habitats in their early life. Width of larvae-postlarvae daily increments are: (1.0-1.6) × 10-3 SSI, (1.8-2.8) × 10-3 SGI and (1.5-2.4) × 10-3 ANI. They were search and chosen automatically from density profiles of otolith tissues. Tissues were prepared by new saving time and materials way—-one time up to 40 ones per microscopic glass. Age of fish estimated from microincrements was alike to that inferred from the body length distribution, otoliths mass (age (years) = 140.82 OM (g) + 0.8546) and otolith shape changes—-large in length and surface on medial plane. Those parameters create age groups of close neighbours. They have different environments. C. aceratus due to its adaptation to cold water, attain rapidly large body according to a growth equation: Lt = 75.1 × (1–e-0.26(t – 0.51)). Among large fishes there were only females.
