A PI control strategy based on fuzzy set-point weighting following was proposed for the active damping control of a hydraulic crane boom system （HcBS）. Two valve-controlled PI controllers, which include a proportional feedforward controller based on fuzzy set-point weighting following and a limited semi-integrator（LSI）, are designed respectively. LSI is used to limit output signal and to prevent wind up at the low frequency of the spectrum. By using a range camera and an electronic feedback control, the tip damping on the HcBS can be adjusted artificially. a.collaborative control simulation technique of HOPSAN and MATLAB/SIMULINK is applied to the controller design. Simulation results show that the proposed PI control system has less overshoot as well as faster response. The tip damping on the HcBS during operation is improved.

We present an improved version of the superatom(SA)model to examine the slow-light dynamics of a few-photons signal field in cold rydberg atoms with van der Waals(vdW)interactions.A main feature of this version is that it promises consistent estimations on total rydberg excitations based on dynamic equations of SAs or atoms.We consider two specific cases in which the incident signal field contains more photons with a smaller detuning or less photons with a larger detuning so as to realize the single-photon-level light storage.It is found that vdW interactions play a significant role even for the slow-light dynamics of a single-photon signal field as distributed rydberg excitations are inevitable in the picture of dark-state polariton.Moreover,the stored(retrieved)signal field exhibits a.clearly asymmetric(more symmetric)profile because its leading and trailing edges undergo different(identical)traveling journeys,and higher storage/retrieval efficiencies with well preserved profiles apply only to weaker and well detuned signal fields.These findings are crucial to understand the nontrivial interplay of single-photon-level light storage and distributed rydberg excitations.

Aims: To examine how left atrioventricular plane displacement(AVPD), a widely used measure of left ventricular(LV) function, is related to presence and degree of aortic stenosis. Methods and results: cardiac dimensions, LV filling, left A VPD, LV ejection fraction (LVEF), and valve function were assessed by echocardio graphy/Doppler in 182 patients with various cardiac diseases (mean (SD) age 69(1 2) years, 36%women), 49 consecutive with and 133 consecutive without aortic ste nosis. In an analysis of covaria.ce, neither left AVPD nor LVEF was independentl y correlated with the presence of aortic stenosis. However, looking separately a t patients with aortic stenosis, left AVPD (p=0.03) but not LVEF correlated inde pendently with degree of aortic stenosis in multiple linear regression analysis. In patients with aortic stenosis, an abnormal left AVPD had 94%sensitivity and 90%negative predictive value with regard to severe aortic stenosis, compared w ith 56%and 62%, respectively, for LVEF. conclusion: In patients with cardiac d isease, neither left AVPD nor LVEF correlated independently with presence of aor tic stenosis. However, in patients with aortic stenosis, left AVPD but not LVEF correlated with the degree of aortic valve obstruction and left AVPD but not LVE F had high sensitivity and negative predictive value with regard to severe aorti c stenosis. compared with LVEF, left AVPD is an earlier and more sensitive marke r of LV haemodynamic load in patients with aortic stenosis.

We report a theoretical scheme using a B-spline basis set to improve the poor computational a.curacy ofcircular rydberg states of hydrogen atoms in the intermediate magnetic Geld.This scheme can produce high a.curacyenergy levels and valid for an arbitrary magnetic field.Energy levels of hydrogen are presented for circular rydbergstates with azimuthal quantum numbers \m\ = 10-70 as a function of magnetic field strengths ranging from zero to2.35 x 109 T.The variation of spatial distributions of electron probability densities with magnetic field strengths isdiscussed and competition between coulomb and magnetic interactions is illustrated.

Study of the electric field and wall voltage in a high pressure ac-PDP cell by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy

The electric field in a surface discharge type ac-PDP cell with He or He/Xe(0.1%) mixture has been measured over a wide range of pressure (5 50kP1 using laser induced fluorescence detection. The wall voltage was estimated from the measured electric field. The Stark manifolds of triplet atomic helium rydberg state (2s3S) with principal quantum numbers (n=8 and 9) have been used to measure the electric field, as the lifetime of 2s3S is longer than the single atomic helium rydberg state (2s1S) in high pressure discharge. comparison of the Stark manifolds between the n=9 and n=8shows that the measurement a.curacy of electric field can be increased by 10%. The maximum electric field strength during discharge and the wall voltage at the end of pulse decreases with the increase of pressure. The comparison of He and He/Xe(0.1%) discharge at 13kPa showed that He/Xe gas mixture discharge can a.cumulate more wall charge on MgO surface and the electric field was somewhat higher than those of pure helium discharge during pulse off period under the same discharge conditions.
