The Beijing Spectrometer(BESⅢ)experiment,which has been studying particle collisions produced by the Beijing Electron Positron Collider(BEPCⅡ)since 2009,has so far discovered a total of 26 new particle candidates(Fig.1).The particles,all strongly-interacting hadrons,are thought to be composed of quarks(q),antiquarks(q),and gluons(g)bound together by the strong force in a surprising variety of *** their properties provides new insight into the complex nature of nuclear interactions and has been one of the central goals of the BESIII Collaboration,which consists of an international team of more than 600 *** several of the newly discovered hadrons are consistent with the conventional two-quark picture of mesons(qq)or the three-quark picture of baryons(qqq),and were expected,others are more surprising and have exotic configurations,such as tetraquarks(qqqq),meson molecules(qq()qq()),glueballs(gg),or hybrid mesons(qgq).They have led to new advances in our theoretical understanding of the strong force,for example through the development of new approaches in quantum field theory[1]or understanding the importance of hadron molecules[2],and have initiated intense experimental effort[3].In the following,we briefly tour the 26 new hadrons,roughly from the heaviest to the *** names appear in boldface the first time they are mentioned.

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)are rare primary neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract,accounting for 1%to 2%of all gastrointestinal neoplasms *** are frequently discovered incidentally during workup for other diagnosis or intestinal obstruction,as they can present with few or no ***,GISTs confer a high degree of malignant transformation,with a progression in about 10%to 30%of *** SUMMARY A 63-year-old healthy female presented to our institution with complaints of right knee pain and limited passive and active motion in the setting of a previous right total knee arthroplasty(TKA).One year after TKA,the patient was incidentally diagnosed with a GIST,which was successfully *** removal,the patient continued to have limited range of motion of the right knee and subsequently underwent revision *** significant fibrotic adhesions were found encapsulating the femoral and tibial *** patient’s pain improved postoperatively,however,she continued to have decreased range of motion with difficulty *** We propose that this case may demonstrate a proinflammatory milieu arising from a GIST,which had a direct influence on the outcome of recent total knee *** proposed mechanism between neoplastic cytokinetic activity and adhesion formation could have implications on preoperative and postoperative orthopedic management of total knee arthroplasty.

In this paper, a wavelet-fi ltered genetic-neuro-fuzzy(WGNF) control system design framework for response control of a highway bridge under various earthquake loads is discussed. The WGNF controller is developed by combining fuzzy logic, discrete wavelet transform, genetic algorithms, and neural networks for use as a control algorithm. To evaluate the performance of the WGNF algorithm, it is tested on a highway bridge equipped with hydraulic actuators. It controls the actuators installed on the abutments of the highway bridge structure. Various earthquakes used as input signals include an artifi cial earthquake, the El-Centro, Kobe, North Palm Springs, Turkey Bolu, Chi-Chi, and Northridge earthquakes. It is proved that the WGNF control system is effective in mitigating the vibration of the highway bridge under a variety of seismic excitation.

Biodegradable polymer vascular stents(BPVSs)have been widely used in percutaneous coronary interventions for the treatment of coronary artery *** development of BPVSs is an integrated process that combines material design/selection,manufacturing,and performance ***-dimensional(3D)printing technology is a powerful tool for polymer stent *** review studies have focused primarily on the material and structural design of polymer stents but have failed to comprehensively discuss different 3D printing approaches and stent characterization *** this paper,we address these shortcomings by discussing 3D printing methods and their application in ***,some commonly used 3D printing methods(including material extrusion,vat polymerization,and powder bed fusion)and potential 3D printing strategies(including material jetting and binder jetting)for fabricating BPVSs are discussed;furthermore,the main post-treatments are ***,techniques to characterize the morphology,mechanical properties,and biological prop-erties of the printed BPVSs are ***,representative commercial BPVSs and lab-grade BPVSs are ***,based on the limitations of stent printing and characterization processes,future perspec-tives are proposed,which may help develop new techniques to fabricate more customized stents and accurately evaluate their performance.

The increased popularity of the private vehicle and the low budgets available to public-transport (PT) planners has meant that PT patronage has decreased significantly from what it once was. This has led to congestion and pollution problems in many cities around the world. It is thus apparent that new, high quality and sustainable PT system is needed to open the opportunity to attract more people to use PT. This work describes such a system called SkyCabs. The SkyCabs concept is comprised of many, lightweight, driverless cabs running two ways on a single elevated monobeam. With each cab seating up to eight people, the aim is to create a feeling of personal travel, and in doing so increase the level of patronage on PT services. The SkyCabs system is investigated based on the following three criteria;a comparative analysis which involves researching and comparing system characteristics, a computer simulation analysing operational feasibility and an economic analysis which involves calculating and comparing the benefit-cost ratios for each mode analysed. A background section has been included to provide information on existing PT modes which have been compared to SkyCabs throughout this work. The SkyCabs concept has been deemed feasible within an urban context such as the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. This finding is based on a comparison with other options investigated and it is due to SkyCabs favourable characteristics, the high level of service offered and the low cost of implementation relative to return benefits.

In this paper, we attempt to quantify the shadow price of an additional inch of groundwater resource left in situ for the Southern Ogallala Aquifer. Previous authors have shown the degree to which the optimal resource extraction path may diverge from the competitive extraction path based upon varying assumptions. We utilize high-quality data over an unconfined groundwater resource to evaluate the validity of these results. We find that the size of the existing groundwater resource is sufficiently small to result in a divergence between the competitive and socially optimal solutions. We are also able to confirm that the model responds to changes in the parameters in a manner consistent with previous research. Finally, we arrive at a marginal user cost for an additional acre-inch of water which is relatively low, but reasonable given uncertainty about future technological improvements.
