Advanced OER/HER electrocatalytic alternatives are crucial for the wide adaptation of green hydrogen ***,Ru/NiMnB spherical cluster pillar （SCP）,denoted as Ru/NiMnB,is synthesized using a combination of electro-deposition and hydrothermal *** investigation of Ru doping in the NiMnB matrix revealed significant improvements in electrocatalytic *** Ru/NiMnB SCPs demonstrate superior OER/HER activity with low overpotentials of 150 and 103 mV at 50mA/cm2in 1 M KOH,making them highly competitive with state-of-the-art ***,the Ru/NiMnB SCPs exhibit a low 2-E cell voltage of 2.80 V at ultra-high current density of 2,000 m A/cm2in 1 M KOH,outperforming the standard benchmark electrodes of RuO2||Pt/C,thereby positioning Ru/NiMnB as one of the best bifunctional *** SCPs exhibit exceptional high-current characteristics,stability and corrosion resistance,as evidenced by continuous operation at 1,000 mA/cm2high-current density for over 150 h in 6 M KOH at elevated temperatures under harsh industrial *** a small amount of Ru incorporation significantly enhances the electrocatalytic performances of NiMnB,attributed to increased active sites and improved intrinsic properties such as conductivity,adsorption/desorption capability and reaction ***,Ru/NiMnB SCPs present a promising bi-functional electrode concept for efficient green H2production.

In this paper,we report the turbulent flow structures and the scour geometry around two piers with different *** experiment was conducted on a non-uniform sand bed with two types of tandem arrangements,namely,pier(T1)with a 75 mm front and 90 mm rear,and pier(T2)with a 90 mm front and 75 mm rear,with and without-seepage flows,respectively.A strong wake region was observed behind the piers,but the vortex strength diminished with downward *** velocity was found to be maximum near the bed downstream of the piers and at the edge of the scour hole upstream of the *** analysis was used to recognize the susceptible region for sediment entrainment and *** of the piers near the bed,the moments,turbulent kinetic energy(TKE),and TKE fluxes were found to decrease with downward seepage,in contrast to those in a plane mobile bed without *** reduction percentages of scour depth at the rear pier compared with the front one were approximately 40%for T1 and 60%for *** seepage also resulted in restrained growth of scouring with time.

Along with a wide range of applications,the surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)is a promi-nent analytical technique to recognize and detect molecules and materials even at an extremely low mo-lar *** this work,a unique hybrid SERS platform is demonstrated by the incorporation of molybdenum disulfate(MoS_(2))nanoparticles(NPs)onto the core-shell AuPt hybrid NPs(HNPs)for the en-hanced molecular Raman vibration of crystal violet(CV).The hybrid platform takes the advantage of both the electromagnetic mechanism(EM)offered by the AuPt HNPs and chemical mechanism(CM)owing to the MoS_(2)*** distinctive core-shell morphology of AuPt HNPs with the high-density background Au NPs is attained by a unique two-step solid-state dewetting method,which can offer a high concentration of electromagnetic hot *** the same time,the MoS_(2)NPs can provide an ample charge transfer with abundant active *** the hybrid SERS approach,a dramatic SERS enhancement of CV Raman vibration is demonstrated,and the SERS capability is thoroughly *** addition,the finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)simulations provide a deeper understanding of the electromagnetic field distributions for various configurations of nanostructures and their hybrid combinations:i.e.,HNPs,alloy NPs,MoS_(2)/HNPs configurations.

Experimental Investigation on Flow and Scour Characteristics Around Tandem Piers in Sandy Channel With Downward Seepage

Experimental investigations have been carried out to study morpho-hydraulic characteristics such as scour geometry and turbulent flow properties around tandem piers in alluvial channels. Experiments were carried out in a plane sand bed with two circular piers of same diameter arranged in tandem manner under no seepage, 10% seepage and 20% seepage conditions. Downward seepage minimizes the scour depth around piers and restrains the development of scour depth with time. Strong reversal flow is found near the bed at upstream of piers and near free surface at downstream of piers where velocity and Reynolds shear stress are found to be negative which reduce in magnitude with downward seepage. The flow is more critical within the gap between two piers where velocity is lesser near free surface and gradually increasing towards bed. Quadrant analysis shows that contribution of each event to the total Reynolds shear stress increases with downward seepage. Sedimentation effect prevails within the scour hole whereas outside the scour hole erosive forces become more dominant. Reduced reversal flow at upstream of pier because of downward seepage results in decreasing higher order moments and turbulent kinetic energy. At downstream of piers, secondary currents are dominant due to wake vortices. Strouhal number decreases in case of seepage runs than no seepage condition.

In this work, experimental investigations have been pursued to analyse the influence of downward seepage on the turbulent characteristics of flow and corresponding changes in vortex structure around circular bridge pier in alluvial channel. Experiments were conducted in sand bed channel with circular piers of different sizes for no seepage, 10% seepage and 20% seepage cases. The measurement of turbulent flow statistics such as velocity and Reynolds stresses is found to be negative within the scour hole at upstream of the pier whereas application of downward seepage retards the reversal of the flow causing a decrement in the velocity and Reynolds stresses. Higher Reynolds shear stress prevails at the downstream side because of the production of wake vortices. Contribution of all bursting events to the total Reynolds shear stress production has been observed to increase with downward seepage. The analysis of integral scale suggest that size of eddies increases with seepage, which is responsible for increase in particle mobility. Initially rate of scouring is more which abatements gradually with expanding time as well as with the increased of downward seepage. Presence of downward seepage reduces the depth and length of vortex and shifts towards downstream side of the pier.

The present study examines scour geometry and turbulent flow characteristics around circular and oblong piers in alluvial channel with downward *** were conducted in plane sand bed of non-uniform sand under no seepage,10%seepage and 15%seepage *** depth at oblong pier is significantly lesser than the scour depth at circular ***,the scour depth at both piers reduces with downward *** measurements show that the velocity and Reynolds stresses are negative near the bed at upstream of piers where the strong reversal *** downstream of oblong pier near the free surface,velocity and Reynolds stresses are less positive;whereas,they are negative at downstream of circular *** streamline shape of oblong pier leads to reduce the strength of wake vortices and consequently reversal flow at downstream of *** application of downward seepage turbulent kinetic energy is *** results show that the wake vortices at oblong pier are weaker than the wake vortices at circular *** strength of wake vortices diminishes with downward *** Strouhal number is lesser for oblong pier and decreases with downward seepage for both oblong and circular piers.

Thin films of CdS have been prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis by spraying precursor solution directly onto soda lime glass（SLG） substrates. Influence of substrate temperature on structural, optical, morphological and electrical properties have been investigated by using various techniques such as low angle X-ray diffraction（XRD）, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）, atomic force microscopy（AFM）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM）, UV–visible spectroscopy photoluminescence（PL） spectroscopy etc. Formation of CdS has been confirmed by low angle XRD,Raman spectroscopy and XPS analysis. XRD pattern showed that CdS films are polycrystalline, have hexagonal structure and prefer orientation of crystallites shifts from（101） to（002） with increase in substrate *** spectroscopy revealed that exciton-phonon coupling depends on substrate temperature and hence on crystallite size. Optical band gap increased from 2.43 to 2.99 eV when substrate temperature increased from 325 to 475 ℃. Transmittance of the film also showed an increasing trend from 52% to 80% with increase in substrate temperature. Such high band gap and transmittance values of CdS films prepared at 475℃ make it a useful window material in CdS/CdTe and CdS/Cu_2S heterojunction solar cells.

The study was aimed to understand the clino-pathological characteristics of urinary tract infection along with the techniques used in diagnosis and treatment of the presenting infection. The study takes into consideration the various risk factors such as age, sex, and diabetes mellitus which can precipitate a urinary tract infection. The study was conducted at the Global Baroda Hospital, Vadodara and Narhari Hospital, Vadodara in the duration from January to March 2012, under the supervision of Dr. Hiten Kareliya. A questionnaire was prepared in accordance to evaluate risk factors of urinary tract infection. The patients under study were chosen according to specific inclusion criteria. The uropathogens were isolated with the help of biochemical testing. E. coli (38%) was found to be the most prevalent organism followed by Klebsiella and Candida albicans (both 10%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (9%), Staphylococcus (7%).
