this paper examines the transport analysis, including both heat transfer and mass transfer, in hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a curved oscillatory surface. the influence of magnetic fields is also inspected in terms of their physical characteristics. to depict the phenomena of transport, modified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally, the characteristics of both heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate system, the flow problem is formulated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for momentum, concentration, microorganism field, and energy. An analytical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the homotopy analysis method(HAM).the effects of significant flow parameters on the pressure and microorganism fields, velocity, oscillation velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions are shown via graphs. Furthermore, the variations in skin friction, mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local motile number due to different involved parameters are presented in tables and are analyzed in detail. Graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity and temperature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volume fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the homogeneous reaction strength parameter and the radius of curvature parameter increase, and it increases with the schmidt number and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcomes show a favorable response of the motile number to advanced values of the Peclet number, the schmidt number, the microorganism difference parameter, and the bio-convective Lewis number.

Do vegetative and reproductive phenophases of deciduous tropical species respond similarly to rainfall pulses?

Deciduous trees with high-density wood that occur in dry seasonal tropical regions respond to rainfall seasonality with synchrony in phenophases. However, they may exhibit interannual differences in synchrony and intensity of phenophases, as strategy for large variations in duration and intensity of rainfall pulses. Nevertheless, it remains unknown how phenophases of deciduous trees of the Brazilian semi-arid region respond to rainfall variations. the phenology of Cordia oncocalyx was monitored in deciduous thorny woodland （Caatinga）, from April 2009 to March 2011, and was correlated with rainfall, soil humidity, temperature, and photoperiod. the rainy years 2009 and 2011 exhibited higher duration of rainfall pulses and lower frequency of interpulses, but in 2010 pulse duration and total rainfall were lower. Circular statistics showed leaf flush followed by flowering and fruiting in the rainy season, and leaf fall and seed dispersal in the dry season.

A rapid absorbance-based growth assay to screen the toxicity of oligomer Aβ42 and protect against cell death in yeast

this paper proposes a generative approach for the automatic typesetting of books in desktop *** presented system consists in a computer script that operates inside a widely used design software tool and implements a generative process based on several typographic rules,styles and principles which have been identified in the *** performance of the proposed system is tested through an experiment which included the evaluation of its outputs with *** results reveal the ability of the system to consistently create varied book designs from the same input content as well as visually coherent book designs with different contents while complying with fundamental typographic principles.

Ultrastructural analysis of the loss of desiccation tolerance in germinating Eremanthus erythropappus seeds

Eremanthus erythropappus(DC.)MacLeish is an important forest species native to the Brazilian savanna biome,an environment with well-defined rainy and dry *** seeds are desiccation tolerant,non-dormant and dispersed at the end of dry *** exposes them to the first sporadic rains that can trigger germination but the subsequent dry days can compromise survival of the newly germinated *** study evaluates if the damages caused by drying of germinating *** seeds,at the stage when they have lost desiccation tolerance,are *** percentage of normal seedlings was evaluated when seeds with different imbibition times were dried to their initial water content and then pre-humidified and *** tolerance was fully lost after 0.5 mm of hypocotyl-radicle protrusion(approximately 72 h)when the radicle had root hairs,a possible indicator of sensitivity to *** of cell contents and ultrastructural damage to the seeds subjected to drying were observed by electron scanning *** hairs disappeared after drying,reappearing after pre-humidification,possibly an attempt to increase the surface area of the radicle for water ***,the hypocotylradicle axis became darkened,probably by antioxidant system failure,causing seed death.

Ethyl thiosemicarbazide intercalated organophilic calcined hydrotalcite as a potential sorbent for the removal of uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) ions from aqueous solutions

this work was conducted to determine the practicability of using a new adsorbent 4-ethyl thiosemicarbazide intercalated, organophilic calcined hydrotalcite （EtsC-OHtC） for the removal of uranium （U（Ⅵ））, and thorium （th（Ⅳ）） from water and wastewater. the FtIR analysis helped in realizing the involvement of nitrogen and sulphur atoms of EtsC in binding the metal ions through complex formation. Parameters like adsorbent dosage, solution pH, initial metal ions concentration, contact time and ionic strength, that influence adsorption phenomenon, were studied. the optimum pH for maximum adsorption of U（VI） and th（IV） was found to be in the range 4.0-6.0. the contact time required for reaching equilibrium was 4 hr. the pseudo second-order kinetic model was the best fit to represent the kinetic data. Analysis of the equilibrium adsorption data using Langmuir, Freundlich and sips models showed that the Freundlich model was well suited to describe the metal ions adsorption. the KF values were 25.43 and 29.11 mg/g for U（Ⅵ） and th（Ⅳ）, respectively, at 30℃. the adsorbent can be regenerated effectively from U（Ⅵ） and th（Ⅳ） loaded ones using 0.01 mol/L HC1. the new adsorbent was quite stable for many cycles, without much reduction in its adsorption capacity towards the metals.
