Age-related macular degeneration(AMD)causes blindness due to loss of retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)and photoreceptors(PRs),which comprise the two outermost layers of the *** the small size of the macula and the importance of direct contact between RPE and PRs,the use of scaffolds for targeted reconstruction of the outer retina in later stage AMD and other macular dystrophies is particularly *** developed microfabricated,honeycomb-patterned,biodegradable poly(glycerol sebacate)(PGS)scaffolds to deliver organized,adjacent layers of RPE and PRs to the subretinal ***,an optimized process was developed to photocure PGS,shortening scaffold production time from days to *** resulting scaffolds robustly supported the seeding of human pluripotent stem cell-derived RPE and PRs,either separately or as a dual celllayered *** advanced,economical,and versatile scaffolds can accelerate retinal cell transplantation efforts and benefit patients with AMD and other retinal degenerative diseases.

近年来,智能水凝胶得到了广泛而深入的研究.然而大多数水凝胶的结构脆弱,易于破损或断裂,限制了它的实际应用.为解决这一难题,我们设计了基于氢键作用的高强度水凝胶,利用自由基溶液聚合的方法,选择生物相容性好的单体,制备了聚(丙烯酸钠-甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯)(P(AANa-co-HEMA))水凝胶,并对其力学性能和溶胀率进行了表征.结果表明,正是凝胶网络中高分子链之间的氢键作用,形成了凝胶网络中的可逆的氢键交联点,因此该水凝胶具有良好的力学性能,在不同的酸度和盐度环境中具有几十至几百倍的溶胀率.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA)is a progressive aortic dilatation,causing~80%mortality upon ***,there is no approved drug therapy for *** repairs are invasive and risky and thus not recommended to patients with small AAAs which,however,account for~90%of the newly diagnosed *** is therefore a compelling unmet clinical need to discover effective non-invasive strategies to prevent or slow down AAA *** contend that the first AAA drug therapy will only arise through discoveries of both effective drug targets and innovative delivery *** is substantial evidence that degenerative smooth muscle cells(SMCs)orchestrate AAA pathogenesis and *** this study,we made an exciting finding that PERK,the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress Protein Kinase R-like ER Kinase,is a potent driver of SMC degeneration and hence a potential therapeutic ***,local knockdown of PERK in elastase-challenged aorta significantly attenuated AAA lesions in *** parallel,we also conceived a biomimetic nanocluster(NC)design uniquely tailored to AAA-targeting drug *** NC demonstrated excellent AAA homing via a platelet-derived biomembrane coating;and when loaded with a selective PERK inhibitor(PERKi,GSK2656157),the NC therapy conferred remarkable benefits in both preventing aneurysm development and halting the progression of pre-existing aneurysmal lesions in two distinct rodent models of *** summary,our current study not only establishes a new intervention target for mitigating SMC degeneration and aneurysmal pathogenesis,but also provides a powerful tool to facilitate the development of effective drug therapy of AAA.

金离子由于其良好的催化性能和药理活性,在化学和医药领域中被广泛应用,但是金离子容易引起肝脏、肾脏以及外围神经系统的损害,因此,实时、快捷地检测细胞以及生物体内的金离子显得十分重要.近年来,由于荧光探针具有专一性强、灵敏度高的特性,一些检测金离子的荧光探针被逐渐开发和研究,本文主要介绍基于不同荧光基团的金离子荧光探针(如罗丹明类、荧光素类、香豆素类、氟硼二吡咯类、1,8-萘酰亚胺类和无机有机复合型)以及荧光检测原理,评述金离子荧光检测的研究方向及发展趋势,对进一步的研究提供思路.

Local-contrastive-learning machine with both generalization and adversarial robustness:A statistical physics analysis

Distinct from human cognitive processing,deep neural networks trained by backpropagation can be easily fooled by adversarial *** design a semantically meaningful representation learning,we discard backpropagation,and instead,propose a local contrastive learning,where the representations for the inputs bearing the same label shrink(akin to boson)in hidden layers,while those of different labels repel(akin to fermion).This layer-wise learning is local in nature,being biologically plausible.A statistical mechanics analysis shows that the target fermion-pair-distance is a key ***,the application of this local contrastive learning to MNIST benchmark dataset demonstrates that the adversarial vulnerability of standard perceptron can be greatly mitigated by tuning the target distance,i.e.,controlling the geometric separation of prototype manifolds.

Recently, multirobot systems(MRSs) have found extensive applications across various domains, including industrial manufacturing, collaborative formation of unmanned equipment, emergency disaster relief, and war scenarios [1]. These advancements are largely supported by the development of consistency control theory. However, traditional dynamicsfree models may cause instability in complex robotic systems. Lagrangian dynamics offers a better approach for modeling these systems, as it facilitates controller design and optimization analysis. Despite this, challenges persist with unknown parameters and nonlinear friction within the systems.

STIL enhances the development of lung adenocarcinoma by regulating the glycolysis pathway

Background:To investigate SCL/TAL 1 interrupting locus(STIL)’s role and prognostic significance in lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)progression,we examined STIL and E2 promoter binding factor 1(E2F1)expression and their impacts on LUAD prognosis using Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis(GEPIA).Methods:Functional assays including CCK-8,wound-healing,5-ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine(EdU),Transwell assays,and flow cytometry,elucidated STIL and E2F1’s effects on cell viability,proliferation,apoptosis,and *** set enrichment analysis(GSEA)identified potential pathways,while metabolic assays assessed glucose ***:Our findings reveal that STIL and E2F1 are overexpressed in LUAD,correlating with adverse *** enhances cell proliferation,migration,and invasion,and suppresses apoptosis,activating downstream of *** E2F1 reversed the promotion effect of the STIL overexpression on cell viability and ***,STIL modulates glycolysis,influencing glucose consumption,lactate production,and energy balance in LUAD ***:Our model,incorporating STIL,age,and disease stage,robustly predicts patient prognosis,underscored STIL’s pivotal role in LUAD pathogenesis through metabolic *** comprehensive approach not only confirms STIL’s prognostic value but also highlights its potential as a therapeutic target in LUAD.

Understanding the iodine electrochemical behaviors in aqueous zinc batteries

Iodine is widely used in aqueous zinc batteries（ZBs） due to its abundant resources,low cost,and active redox *** addition to the active material in zinc-iodine batteries,iodine also plays an important role in other ZBs,such as regulating the electrochemical behavior of zinc ions,promoting the reaction kinetic and reversibility of other redox pairs,catalytic behaviors related to iodine reactions,coupling with other halogen ions,shuttle behaviors of polyiodides,***,there is currently a lack of comprehensive discussion on these ***,this review provides a comprehensive overview of the electrochemical behaviors of iodide in the aqueous *** effect of iodine ions on the Zn2+desolvation behaviors and the interfacial behaviors of Zn anode was *** redox pairs boosting other redox pairs,such as MnO2/Mn2+redox pair and vanadium redox pair to obtain high reversibility and capacity was also ***,the catalytic behaviors related to iodine reactions in aqueous ZBs,synergistic reaction with other halogen ions and suppression of shuttle behaviors for high performance zinc-iodine batteries were systematically ***,future prospects for designing effective iodine electrochemical behaviors with practicability are proposed,which will provide scientific guidance for the practical application of iodine-related aqueous ZBs.
