A scoping review of methodologies for applying artificial intelligence to physical activity interventions

Purpose This scoping review aimed to offer researchers and practitioners an understanding of artificial intelligence(AI)applications in physical activity(PA)interventions;introduce them to prevalent machine learning(ML),deep learning(DL),and reinforcement learning(RL)algorithms;and encourage the adoption of AI *** A scoping review was performed in PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,and EBSCO focusing on AI applications for promoting PA or predicting related behavioral or health *** methodologies were summarized and categorized to identify synergies,patterns,and trends informing future ***,a concise primer on predominant AI methodologies within the realm of PA was provided to bolster understanding and broader *** The review included 24 studies that met the predetermined eligibility *** models were found effective in detecting significant patterns of PA behavior and associations between specific factors and intervention *** studies comparing AI models to traditional statistical approaches reported higher prediction accuracy for AI models on test *** of different AI models yielded mixed results,likely due to model performance being highly dependent on the dataset and *** increasing trend of adopting state-of-the-art DL and RL models over standard ML was observed,addressing complex human–machine communication,behavior modification,and decision-making *** key areas for future AI adoption in PA interventions emerged:personalized PA interventions,real-time monitoring and adaptation,integration of multimodal data sources,evaluation of intervention effectiveness,expanding access to PA interventions,and predicting and preventing *** The scoping review highlights the potential of AI methodologies for advancing PA *** the field progresses,staying informed and exploring emerging AI-driven strategies is essential for achieving significant improveme

Microstructure and damping properties of LPSO phase dominant Mg-Ni-Y and Mg-Zn-Ni-Y alloys

This work studied the microstructure,mechanical properties and damping properties of Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66) and Mg_(95.34)Zn_(1)Ni_(1)Y_(2.66)alloys *** difference in the evolution of the long-period stacked ordered(LPSO)phase in the two alloys during heat treatment was the *** morphology of the as-cast Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66)presented a disordered *** heat treatment at 773 K for 2 hours,the eutectic phase was integrated into the matrix,and the LPSO phase maintained the 18R *** Zn partially replaced Ni,the crystal grains became rounded in the cast alloy,and lamellar LPSO phases and more solid solution atoms were contained in the matrix after heat treatment of the Mg_(95.34)Zn_(1)Ni_(1)Y_(2.66)*** Zn and the heat treatment had a significant effect on *** dislocation internal friction peaks and grain boundary internal friction peaks were found after temperature-dependent damping of the Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66)and Mg_(95.34)Zn_(1)Ni_(1)Y_(2.66)*** heat treatment,the dislocation peak was significantly increased,especially in the alloy Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2).*** annealed Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66)alloy with a rod-shaped LPSO phase exhibited a good damping performance of 0.14 atε=10^(−3),which was due to the difference between the second phase and solid solution atom *** factors also affected the dynamic modulus of the *** results of this study will help in further development of high-damping magnesium alloys.

Metabolic syndrome(Met S)is a chronic disease associated with the disturbance of gut microbiota *** derived from gut microbes play essential roles in Met S prevention and ***,we focused on the inhibitory effect of the extract of millet bran protein(EMBP)on a high-fat diet(HFD)-induced Met S,aiming to identify gut microbiota and their metabolites that involve in the anti-Met S activity of *** obesity,chronic inflammation,insulin resistance in Met S mouse models were abolished after EMBP *** protective mechanism of EMBP against HFD-induced Met S may depend on improved gut barrier *** microbiome analysis,we found that EMBP supplementation improved gut microbiome dysbiosis in Met S mice,specifically upregulating Bacteroides *** fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)also demonstrated this *** addition,metabolomic analysis showed that EMBP mediates metabolic profiling reprogramming in Met S ***,a microbiota-derived metabolite,gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),is enriched by *** addition,exogenous GABA treatment produced a similar protective effect to EMBP by improving NRF2-dependent gut barrier function to protect HFDinduced Met *** results suggest that EMBP suppress host Met S by remodeling of gut microbiota as an effective candidate for next-generation medicine food dual purpose dietary supplement to intervene in MetS.

Monolithic perovskite/organic tandem solar cells(TsCs)have gained significant attention due to their easy device integration and the potential to surpass the Shockley-Queisser limit of single-junction solar ***,the surfaces of wide-bandgap perovskite films are densely populated with defects,leading to severe non-radiative recombination and energy *** a consequence,the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of perovskite/organic TSCs lags behind that of other TSC *** address these issues,we designed a functional ammonium salt,4-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazin-1-ium iodide(Pzol),comprising a piperazine iodide and a terminated hydroxyl group,which was applied for post-treating the perovskite *** findings reveal that Pzol reacts with and consumes residual PbX_(2)(X:I or Br)to form a 2D perovskite component,thereby eliminating Pb^(0)defects,while the terminated hydroxyl group in PZOI can also passivate uncoordinated Pb^(2+).Consequently,the shallow/deep-level defect densities of the 2D/3D perovskite film were significantly reduced,leading to an enhanced PCE of single-junction 2D/3D wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells to 18.18% with a reduced energy loss of 40 ***,the corresponding perovskite/organic TSCs achieved a remarkable PCE of 24.05% with enhanced operational stability(T_(90)~500h).

目前直流输电正在朝着高电压大容量的技术方向发展,其在长距离输电、跨区域联网及调度灵活等方面的优势日趋显现,但由于换流站关键设备故障造成的直流系统非正常停运对电力系统造成的影响也越来越大。因此,加强对直流关键设备的感知程度,对关键设备的故障进行预判并提前进行处理,对减少直流系统非正常停运并提高供电可靠性具有重大意义。以宁夏国家电网换流站多协议无线数据为例,提出了基于灰狼算法的改进粒子群算法。实验表明,该粒子群-灰狼算法能够更精确地对换流站的各种监测数据进行预测,减小预测误差,为今后换流站的运行和维护提供了依据。

独活寄生汤调控衣霉素诱导的内质网应激减缓人髓核细胞凋亡

目的:研究独活寄生汤对衣霉素诱导的人髓核细胞内质网应激和细胞凋亡的作用及机制。方法:将30只10周龄的SD大鼠以独活寄生汤灌胃,连续灌胃14 d后经腹主动脉取血,获取含药血清。采用衣霉素和不同浓度独活寄生汤处理人髓核细胞,使用CCK-8检测髓核细胞的活力。将人髓核细胞随机分为5组:对照组(未经衣霉素和独活寄生汤含药血清处理),衣霉素组(加入10μg/mL衣霉素溶液),衣霉素+4-PBA组(加入10μg/mL衣霉素溶液和5 mmol/mL 4-PBA),衣霉素+独活寄生汤组(加入10μg/mL衣霉素溶液和10%独活寄生汤含药血清),衣霉素+生理盐水组(加入10μg/mL衣霉素溶液和等剂量生理盐水)。免疫荧光法检测各组CHOP、GRP78的表达水平;TUNEL法检测分析髓核细胞凋亡率;qRT-PCR法和Western Blot法分别检测各组CHOP、GRP78、内质网应激和凋亡相关通路mRNA和蛋白的表达。结果:独活寄生汤能够增强髓核细胞活力、降低髓核细胞凋亡率,对衣霉素可能存在拮抗作用。与对照组相比,衣霉素处理后髓核细胞中CHOP、GRP78、Cleaved-caspase3、Bax和PERK/elF2α、IREI/JNK和Caspase12等凋亡相关通路的蛋白和基因表达显著升高,BCL-2蛋白和基因表达显著下降,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);而衣霉素+生理盐水组表达与衣霉素组相当,差异无统计学意义。与衣霉素组相比,衣霉素+独活寄生汤含药血清组中的CHOP、GRP78、Cleaved-caspase3、Bax和PERK/elF2α、IREI/JNK和Caspase12等凋亡相关通路的蛋白和基因表达出现明显下降,BCL-2蛋白和基因表达显著升高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);其调控效果与阳性对照衣霉素+4-PBA组相当,差异无统计学意义。结论:衣霉素能够诱导髓核细胞内质网应激,促使细胞凋亡增加;独活寄生汤对衣霉素诱导的内质网应激具有调控作用,抑制髓核细胞凋亡,从而延缓椎间盘退变。

为建立芝麻抗旱性快速鉴定体系及筛选芝麻抗旱品种,采用盆栽反复干旱法,设置正常水分(CK)和干旱胁迫(DS)两种处理,对31份芝麻材料进行生理生化指标测定和综合评价,同时利用qRT-PCR检测SOD合成相关基因的表达量。结果表明:芝麻苗期■、可溶性糖(SS)、脯氨酸(Pro)含量和超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化物酶(POD)活性与CK相比均显著上升,各指标综合抗旱系数和抗旱指数的变异系数最高的分别是SOD(98.64%)和■(154.01%);抗旱指数与■含量、SOD活性呈极显著正相关关系,这两个指标可作为芝麻苗期抗旱性鉴定的重要指标。聚类分析将31份芝麻材料划分为5类抗旱类型,分别为高抗型、中抗型、低抗型、低感型和高感型。利用综合评价方法,筛选出高抗材料2份(‘汾芝10号’和‘豫-11-1’),中抗旱材料4份,低抗旱材料9份,敏感材料10份,高感材料5份;筛选出■含量和SOD活性可作为芝麻种质资源苗期抗旱特性快速鉴定的指标。

Engagement in outdoor physical activity under ambient fine particulate matter pollution: A risk-benefit analysis

Background:Outdoor physical activity(PA)brings important health benefits,but exposure to polluted air increases health *** study aimed to quantify the tradeoff of PA under fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))air pollution by estimating the optimal PA duration under various pollution ***:A risk-benefit analysis was performed to estimate the optimal outdoor moderate-intensity PA(MPA)duration under varying PM_(2.5) ***:An inverse nonlinear relationship was identified between optimal MPA duration and background PM_(2.5) concentration *** background PM_(2.5) concentration increased to 186 μg/m^(3),the optimal outdoor MPA duration decreased to 2.5 h/week,the minimum level recommended by current PA *** background PM_(2.5) concentration further increased to 235 μg/m^(3),the optimal outdoor MPA duration decreased to 1 h/*** relationship between optimal MPA duration and background PM_(2.5) concentration levels was stronger when exercising at a location closer to a source of air *** to the general adult population,adults aged 60 years and older had substantially steeper curves—the optimal outdoor MPA duration decreased to 2.5 h/week when background PM_(2.5) concentration reached 45 μg/m^(3).Conclusion:The health benefit of outdoor MPA by far outweighs the health risk of PM_(2.5) pollution for the global average urban background concentration(22 μg/m^(3),).This modeling study examined a single type of air pollutant and suffered from measurement errors and estimation *** research should examine other air pollutants and indoor PA,incorporate short-and mid-term health effects of MPA and air pollution into the risk-benefit analysis,and provide estimates specific for high-risk subgroups.
