Burden of mental disorders and risk factors in the Western Pacific region from 1990 to 2021

BACKGROUND The burden of mental disorders(MD)in the Western Pacific Region(WPR)re-mains a critical public health concern,with substantial variations across demogra-phics and *** To analyze the burden of MD in the WPR from 1990 to 2021,along with associated risk factors,to reveal changing trends and emerging *** We used data from the Global Burden of Disease 2021,analyzing prevalence,incidence,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)of MD from 1990 to *** methods included age-standardisation and uncertainty analysis to address variations in population structure and data *** Between 1990 and 2021,the prevalence of MD rose from 174.40 million cases[95%uncertainty interval(UI):160.17-189.84]to 234.90 million cases(95%UI:219.04-252.50),with corresponding DALYs increasing from 22.8 million(95%UI:17.22-28.79)to 32.07 million(95%UI:24.50-40.68).During this period,the burden of MD shifted towards older age *** and anxiety disorders were predominant,with females showing higher DALYs for depressive and anxiety disorders,and males more affected by conduct disorders,attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder,and autism spectrum ***,New Zealand,and Malaysia reported the highest burdens,whereas Vietnam,China,and Brunei Darussalam reported the ***,childhood sexual abuse and bullying,and intimate partner violence emerged as significant risk *** This study highlights the significant burden of MD in the WPR,with variations by age,gender,and *** coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic has exacerbated the situation,emphasizing the need for a coordinated response.

Liver transplantation represents a complex surgical procedure and serves as a curative treatment for patients presenting an acute or chronic end-stage liver disease, or carefully selected liver malignancy. A significant gap still exists between the number of available donor organs and potential recipients. The use of an otherwise-wasted resected liver lobe from patients with benign liver tumors is a new, albeit small, option to alleviate the allograft shortage. This review provides evidence that resected liver lobes may be used successfully in liver transplantation.

Is p-Type Doping in SeO₂ Feasible?

p-type transparent oxide semiconductors (TOSs) are significant in the semiconductor industry, driving advancements in optoelectronic technologies for transparent electronic devices with unique properties. The recent discovery of p-type behavior in SeO2 has stimulated interest and confusion in the scientific community. In this Letter, we employ density functional theory calculations to reveal the intrinsic intrinsic insulating characteristics of SeO2 and highlight the substantial challenges in carrier doping. Our electronic structure analyses indicate that the Se 5s2 states are energetically positioned too low to effectively interact with the O 2p orbitals, resulting in a valence band maximum (VBM) primarily dominated by the O 2p orbitals. The deep and localized nature of the VBM of SeO2 limits its potential as a high-mobility p-type TOS. Defect calculations demonstrate that all intrinsic defects in SeO2 exhibit deep transition levels within the bandgap. Regardless of the synthesis conditions, the Fermi level consistently resides in the mid-gap region. Furthermore, deep intrinsic acceptors and donors exhibit negative formation energies in the n-type and p-type regions, respectively, facilitating spontaneous formation and impeding external doping efforts. Thus, the reported p-type conductivity in SeO2 samples is unlikely to be intrinsic and is more plausibly attributable to reduced elemental Se, a well-known p-type semiconductor.

BACKGROUND Lymphovascular invasion(LVI)and perineural invasion(PNI)are associated with decreased survival in colorectal cancer(CRC),but its significance in N1c stage remains to be clearly *** We retrospectively identified 107 consecutive patients who had CRC with N1c disease radically resected at our *** were reviewed for LVI and PNI by one pathologist blinded to the patients’***-free survival(DFS),overall survival(OS)and cancer-specific survival(CSS)were determined using the Kaplan-Meier method,with LVI and PNI prognosis differences determined by multivariate analysis using the Cox multiple hazards *** were compared using log-rank *** receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to evaluate the prognostic predictive *** The median follow-up time was 63.17(45.33-81.37)months for DFS,with 33.64%(36/107)of patients experiencing recurrence;21.5%of tumors were found to be LVI positive and 44.9%PNI *** 5-year DFS rate was greater for patients with LVI-negative tumors compared with LVI-positive tumors(74.0%vs 35.6%),and PNI was similar(82.5%vs 45.1%).On multivariate analysis,LVI[hazard ratio(HR)=3.368,95%confidence interval(CI):1.628-6.966,P=0.001]and PNI(HR=3.055,95%CI:1.478-6.313,P=0.002)were independent prognostic factors for *** patients could be divided into three groups of patients with different prognosis according to LVI and *** 5-year ROC curve for LVI,PNI and their combination prediction of DFS was 0.646,0.709 and 0.759,*** results were seen for OS and *** LVI and PNI could serve as independent prognostic factors of outcomes in N1c CRC *** with LVI or PNI should be given more attention during treatment.

Establishment and verification of anthropogenic speciated VOCs emission inventory of Central China

Improving the accuracy of anthropogenic volatile organic compounds(VOCs)emission inventory is crucial for reducing atmospheric pollution and formulating control policy of air *** this study,an anthropogenic speciated VOCs emission inventory was established for Central China represented by Henan Province at a 3 km×3 km spatial resolution based on the emission *** 2019 VOCs emission in Henan Provincewas 1003.5 Gg,while industrial process source(33.7%)was the highest emission source,Zhengzhou(17.9%)was the city with highest emission and April and August were the months with the more *** VOCs emission regions were concentrated in downtown areas and industrial *** and aromatic hydrocarbons were the main VOCs contribution *** species composition,source contribution and spatial distribution were verified and evaluated through tracer ratio method(TR),Positive Matrix Factorization Model(PMF)and remote sensing inversion(RSI).Results show that both the emission results by emission inventory(EI)(15.7 Gg)and by TRmethod(13.6 Gg)and source contribution by EI and PMF are *** spatial distribution of HCHO primary emission based on RSI is basically consistent with that of HCHO emission based on EI with a R-value of *** verification results show that the VOCs emission inventory and speciated emission inventory established in this study are relatively reliable.
