WRKY transcription factors play key roles in plant resistance to various stresses,but their roles in fruit ripening remain largely ***,we report a WRKY gene PpWRKY14 involved in the regulation of fruit ripening in *** expression of PpWRKY14 showed an increasing trend throughout fruit ***14was a target gene of PpNAC1,a master regulator of peach fruit ***14 could directly bind to the promoters of PpACS1 and PpACO1 to induce their expression,and this induction was greatly enhanced when PpWRKY14 formed a dimer with ***,the transcription of PpNAC1 could be directly suppressed by two EIN3/EIL1 genes,PpEIL2 and *** PpEIL2/3 genes were highly expressed at the early stages of fruit development,but their expression was programmed to decrease significantly during the ripening stage,thus derepressing the expression of *** results suggested a PpEIL2/3–PpNAC1–PpWRKY14 module that regulates fruit ripening by modulating ethylene production in *** results provided an insight into the regulatory roles of EIN3/EIL1 and WRKY genes in fruit ripening.

BACKGROUND Primary malignant melanoma of the esophagus accounts for 0.1%-0.2%of all esophageal malignancies,including melanotic and amelanotic *** amelanotic malignant melanoma of the esophagus is extremely rare,and only about 20 cases have been published in the literature to *** primary malignant melanomas of the esophagus are diagnosed following development of metastatic lesions and thus have a very poor *** median survival duration of patients with metastatic melanoma has been reported to be 6.2 *** SUMMARY A 49-year-old woman was referred to our hospital with a diagnosis of esophageal ***,biopsy,imaging evaluation,and physical examination at our hospital indicated a diagnosis of advanced primary amelanotic malignant melanoma of the *** staining confirmed *** medicine examination revealed a left iliac bone metastatic *** discharge,the patient self-administered apatinib for 3 mo,followed by oral treatment with Chinese medicines(also self-administered)for 2 *** treatments had been taken since *** patient has survived with no growth out to the most recent follow-up(24 mo post diagnosis),and she always presented with a positive attitude about her condition during this *** Survival following metastatic melanoma might be related to the pharmaceutical and Chinese medicine treatment and the patient's positive attitude.

Effect of complex melt-refining treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of sand-cast Mg–10Gd–3Y–0.5Zr alloy

Many studies have been dedicated to the indispensable roles of jasmonate in plant growth and defence,but the molecular mechanisms preventing the overproduction or accumulation of jasmonate which often has detrimental effect on plant development and physiology are largely unknown. In th is study,we found that transcript level of HSB1 gene was greatly down-regulated by Me JA application and the loss-of-function mutants of HSB1 gene accumulated significantly more jasmonate but less ethylene than WT plants. Mutations in HSB1 caused pleiotropic effects on various developmentally regulated processes such as seed weight,root elongation,petal size,flower timing,anthocyanin biosynthesis and leaf senescence. The mutants were more susceptible to pests and pathogens attacks as they displayed enhanced disease symptoms in response to fungal and bacterial pathogens Botrytis cinerea and Pseudomonas syringae pv. Tomato DC3000(Pst DC3000),and the larvae of phytophagous insects Spodoptera exigua increased weight more rapidly when fed on the mutant than on WT plants. However,the mutant plants exhibited enhanced resistance to the root-infecting fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum which can produce ethylene itself. In addition,stomata of the mutant plants were greatly compromised in their ability to close in response to either Pst DC3000 or Pst DC3000(avr B). Furthermore,mutations in HSB1 gene caused hypersensitivity to high sugar induced anthocynin production and seedling growth arrest. We also provided evidence that HSB1 is not only critical for a tight control of jasmonate production and accumulation but also for the interaction of plant hormones including JA and ET in plant development and stress response.

The effect of complex melt-refining treatment （melt flux incorporating with rotating gas bubble stirring） on microstructure and mechanical behavior of the sand-cast Mg-10Gd-3Y-0.5Zr alloy was investigated. In addition, the melt purifying mechanism of the complex melt-refining treatment for the sand-cast alloy was discussed systematically. The results show that the new melt-refining method can significantly improve melt quality and mechanical behavior of the tested alloy, i.e., compared to the reference unpttdfied alloy, the volume fraction of inclusions decreased from 0.47% to 0.28%, the ultimate tensile strength and elongation for T6-treated alloy increased from 245 MPa and 0.7% to 312 MPa and 4.5%, respectively. Especially, combining 1% flux with rotating gas bubble stirring can get even better purifying effectiveness than conventional sole 2% flux purification; the use of melt flux decreased by 50% and significantly reduced environmental pollution.
