The induction generator effect(IGe)and the openloop modal proximity(OLMP)are two different reasons why subsynchronous oscillations(SSOs)in a series-compensated power system(SCPS)may *** IGe attributes the growing SSOs to negative resistance,while the OLMP explains the SSO me.h.nism from the standpoint of modal *** this paper,we investigate the connections between the IGe and the OLMP through equivalent RLC circuit and open-loop modal *** investigation is conducted for two types of seriescompensated power systems where either a synchronous generator or a DFIG is connected at the sending *** investigation reveals the conditions,in which the IGe and the OLMP may jointly cause the growing SSOs,i.e.,both the IGe and the OLMP can explain why the growing SSOs ***,the investigation indicates that the IGe and the OLMP may be totally irrelevant and lead to growing SSOs *** implies that it is possible that in a SCPS,the growing SSOs are only due to the IGe,and the OLMP is non-existent,and vice ***,when the growing SSOs occurs in a SCPS,examination based on both the IGe and the OLMP should be carefully conducted in order to find if the oscillatory instability is due to the IGe,or the OLMP,or both of them.

extreme cold temperatures were observed in July and August 2023, coinciding with the WINFLY(winter fly-in)period of mid to late August into September 2023, meaning aircraft operations into Mc Murdo Station and Phoenix Airfield were adversely impacted. Specifically, with temperatures below-50℃, safe flight operation was not possible because of the risk of failing hydraulics and fuel turning to gel onboard the aircraft. The cold temperatures were measured across a broad area of the Antarctic, from east Antarctica toward the Ross Ice Shelf, and stretching across West Antarctica to the Antarctic Peninsula. A review of automatic weather station measurements and staffed station observations revealed a series of sites recording new record low temperatures. Four separate cold phases were identified, each a few days in duration and occurring from mid-July to the end of August 2023. A brief analysis of 500-hPa geopotential height anomalies shows how the mid-tropospheric atmospheric environment evolves in relation to these extreme cold temperatures. The monthly 500-hPa geopotential height anomalies show strong negative anomalies in August. examination of composite geopotential height anomalies during each of the four cold phases suggests various factors leading to cold temperatures, including both southerly off-content flow and calm atmospheric conditions. Understanding the atmospheric environment that leads to such extreme cold temperatures can improve prediction of such events and benefit Antarctic operations and the study of Antarctic meteorology and climatology.

Prey animals are often faced with uncertainty due to having imperfect information regarding current local conditions,including predation risks and the availability of reliable foraging opportunities(Dall 2010).As this uncertainty increases,the probability of making costly behavioral errors also increases,leading to more risk averse behavioral tactics(Feyten et al.2019).For example,Trinidadian guppies Poecilia reticulata are far more risk averse when faced with multiple unknown sources of risk assessment information than when faced with a mix of known and unknown cues(Feyten et al.2019).Prey can reduce uncertainty by gathering and integrating private and social information regarding current risk levels within microhabitats(Dall 2010;Munoz and Blumstein 2012).

3,4-Dihydroisoquinoline(DhIQ)is an important precursor used in the production of drugs for treating cancer,hIV,Alzheimer's disease,*** studies on DhIQ synthesis show low catalytic selectivity due to the susceptible over-oxidation feedstock of1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline(ThIQ),which often requires alkali ***,it is desirable yet challenging to explore a highly selective and efficient oxydehydrogenation capacity for DhIQ synthesis under eco-friendly reaction ***,a novel framework 1 was synthesized,e.h.biting 1D channels with the size of 4.6 A×9.6 A and high solvent/p h/thermal stability.A stable framework allows it to encapsulate Cu nanoparticles(NPs)to form Cu NPs@1-x(x=1,2,3,and 4)with varying loading amounts of Cu NPs at 2.0 wt%,3.0 wt%,4.0 wt%,and 6.0 wt%,*** NPs@1-3 could selectively catalyze the reaction from ThIQ to DhIQ with a high selectivity of 98%and a recorded turnover frequency(TOF)of 22.1 h-1under eco-friendly mild *** corresponding catalytic activity can maintain at least five recyclings and can be further applied to gram-scale ***,the efficient preparation of DhIQ catalyzed by Cu NPs@1-3 could be realized even under air ***,the anticancer molecule precursor synthesis of 6,7-dime.h.xy-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline was also selectively catalyzed by Cu NPs@*** investigations revealed that high catalytic performance can be attributed to the stable framework and the synergistic catalytic effect of the loaded Cu NPs and Co metal *** importantly,this work represents the first example of MOF catalysts for selectively thermo-catalytic DhIQ synthesis and demonstrates a simple approach to obtain efficient catalysts for selective oxydehydrogenation in the production of unsaturated compounds.

electronic interactions of the Group 2A elements with magnesium have been studied through the dilute solid solutions in binary Mg-Ca,Mg-Sr and Mg-Ba *** investigation incorporated the difference in the‘Work Function'(ΔWF)measured via Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy(KPFM),as a property directly affected by interatomic bond types,*** electronic structure,nanoindentation measurements,and Stacking Fault energy values reported in the *** was shown that the nano-hardness of the solid-solutionα-Mg phase changed in the order of Mg-Ca>Mg-Sr>***,it was shown,by also considering the nano-hardness levels,that SFe of a solid-solution is closely correlated with its‘Work Function'***-hardness measurements on the eutectics andΔWF difference between eutectic phases enabled an assessment of the relative bond strength and the pertinent electronic structures of the eutectics in the three *** withΔWF and at least qualitative verification of those computed SFe values with some experimental measurement te.h.iques were considered important as those computational me.h.ds are based on zero Kelvin degree,relatively simple atomic models and a number of *** asserted by this investigation,if the results of measurement te.h.iques can be qualitatively correlated with those of the computational me.h.ds,it can be possible to evaluate the electronic structures in alloys,starting from binary systems,going to ternary and then multi-elemental *** investigation has shown that such a qualitative correlation is *** all,the SFe values are not treated as absolute values but rather become essential in comparative investigations when assessing the influences of alloying elements at a fundamental level,that is,free electron density *** study indicated that the principles of‘electronic metallurgy'in developing multi-elemental alloy systems can be followed via practical experimental me.h.ds,i.e.ΔWF measurements using KPF

Self-incompatibility(SI)is an intraspecific reproductive barrier widely present in *** SI system with the broadest occurrence in angiosperms is based on an S-RNase linked to a cluster of multiple S-locus F-box(SLF)genes found in the Solanaceae,Plantaginaceae,Rosaceae,and *** studies reveal that non-self S-RNase is degraded by the Skip Cullin F-box(SCF)SLF-mediated ubiquitin–proteasome system in a collaborative manner in Petunia,but how self-RNase functions largely remains ***,we show that S-RNases form S-RNase condensates(SRCs)in the self-pollen tube cytoplasm through phase separation and the disruption of SRC formation breaks SI in self-incompatible Petunia *** further find that the pistil SI factors of a small asparagine-rich protein hT-B and thioredoxin h toge.h.r with a reduced state of the pollen tube all promote the expansion of SRCs,which then sequester several actin-binding proteins,including the actin polymerization factor PhABRACL,the actin polymerization activity of which is reduced by S-RNase in ***,we find that S-RNase variants lacking condensation ability fail to recruit PhABRACL and are unable to induce actin foci formation required for pollen tube growth *** toge.h.r,our results demonstrate that phase separation of S-RNase promotes SI response in ***,revealing a new mode of S-RNase action.
