Changes over flood season in turbidity maximum zone in a mountainous macrotidal estuary from 1986 to 2020

The construction of channel regulation projects,reservoirs,and other human activities have led to significant changes in channel geometry and hydrodynamic conditions in mountainous macrotidal ***,their impact on the long-term evolution of the turbidity maximum zone(TMZ)in these estuaries is still ***,the Minjiang Estuary(ME)was selected as the study area and using the Gabor filter and surface suspended sediment concentration(SSSC)data retrieved from GF PMS/WFV and Landsat-TM/ETM+/OLI images in the flood season from 1986 to 2020,the flow direction of Chuanshi Waterway,the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of TMZ in the ME,and the influence of human activities on these were *** results indicate that during flood tides in the past 35 years,the TMZ was mainly distributed in sections from the Changmen to the Chuanshi and Meihua *** construction of the Shuikou Reservoir caused the SSSC to decrease by 65 mg/L at the Chuanshi Tidal Gauge Station in the *** TMZ in the ME waterway channel notably migrated toward the sea due to the waterway regulation project,with the landward and seaward boundaries moving by 2.5 km and 3 km seaward,*** main distribution area moved from Jinpaimen to the section from Chuanshi Waterway to the mouth of the *** variation characteristics were basically consistent with the annual average TMZ in the flood *** the interactions between nature and human interventions,the flow regime of the ME tended to converge in the flood ***,human activities have significantly impacted the long-term evolution of the TMZ in the ME.

In this paper,we develop an efficient Hermite spectral-Galerkin method for nonlocal diffusion equations in unbounded *** show that the use of the Hermite basis can de-convolute the troublesome convolutional operations involved in the nonlocal *** a result,the“stiffness”matrix can be fast computed and assembled via the four-point stable recursive algorithm with O(N^(2))arithmetic ***,the singular factor in a typical kernel function can be fully absorbed by the *** the aid of Fourier analysis,we can prove the convergence of the *** demonstrate that the recursive computation of the entries of the stiffness matrix can be extended to the two-dimensional nonlocal Laplacian using the isotropic Hermite functions as basis *** provide ample numerical results to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed algorithms.

High loading carbon nanotubes deposited onto porous nickel yarns by solution imbibition as flexible wire-shaped supercapacitor electrodes

The deposition of active materials directly onto metal wires is a general strategy to prepare wire-shaped electrodes for flexible and wearable energy storage devices. However, it is still a critical challenge to coat active materials onto the aimed metal wires because of their smooth surface and small specific surface area. In this work, high porous nickel yarns（PNYs） was fabricated using commercial nylon yarns as templates through step-wise electroless plating, electroplating and calcination processes. The PNYs are composed of multiplied fibers with hollow tubular structure of 5–10 μm in diameter, allowing the imbibition of carbon nanotubes（CNTs） solution by a facile capillary action process. The prepared CNTs/PNY electrodes showed a typical electrochemical double layer capacitive performance and the constructed allsolid flexible wire-shaped symmetric supercapacitors provided a specific capacitance of 4.67 F/cm3 with good cycling stability at a current density of 0.6 A/cm3.

Small-angle X-ray scattering investigation of aging behavior of Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloys using synchrotron radiation

The aging behavior of Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloys with high Cu/Mg was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) using synchrotron radiation. TEM study reveals that the major strengthening phases of the alloy after aging at 160?C for 10 h are Ω and less θ′. SAXS study shows that the scattering patterns are composed of several concentric circles at the beginning of aging process, which is replaced by the butterfly-wings scattering patterns with the increase of aging time. The butterfly-wings scattering patterns are composed of several branches. The angles between the branches are roughly equal to that between the habit planes of precipitates. The evolution of Guinier radius with aging time indicates the good coarsening resistance of the precipitates. The evolution of integrated intensity is consistent with the classical two-step precipitation process.

Myocardial injury as one of the severe complications leads to the increasing morbidity and mortality in patients with *** studies reported that reactive oxygen species(ROS)-mediated ferroptosis plays a critical role in the development of heart ***,we hypothesized that anti-ferroptosis agent might be a novel potential therapeutic strategy for sepsis-induced cardiac ***,we demonstrated that a small biocompatible and MRI-visible melanin nanoparticles(MMPP)improves myocardial function by inhibiting ROS-related ferroptosis signaling *** LPS-induced murine sepsis model,after a single dose intravenously injection of MMPP treatment,MMPP markedly alleviated the myocardial injury including cardiac function and heart structure disorder through suppressing iron-accumulation induced *** vitro,MMPP inhibited cardiomyocyte death by attenuating oxidative stress,inflammation and maintaining mitochondrial ***,our findings demonstrated that MMPP protected heart against sepsis-induced myocardial injury via inhibiting ferroptosis and inflammation,which might be a novel therapeutic approach in future.

Sodiumion batteries(SIBs)have attracted intensive attention as promising alternative to lithium-ionbatteries(LIBs)for large scale energy storage systems because of low cost of sodium,similar energy storage mechanism and the reasonable ***,it is still a great challenge to search and design a robust structure of anode materials with excellent cycling stability and high rate capability for ***,multilayer porous vanadium nitride(VN)microsheets are synthesized through a facile and scalable hydrothermal synthesis-nitrogenization strategy as an effective anode material for *** multilayer porous VN microsheets not only offer more active sites for fast Na+insertion/extraction process and short diffusion pathway,but also effectively buffer the volume change of anode due to more space in the multilayer porous *** large proportions of capacitive behavior imply that the Na+charge storage depends on the intercalation pseudocapacitive *** multilayer porous VN microsheets electrodes manifest excellent cycling stability and rate capability,delivering a discharge capacity of 156.1 mA·h/g at 200 mA/g after 100 cycles,and a discharge capacity of 111.9 mA·h/g at 1.0 A/g even after 2300 cycles with the Coulombic efficiency of nearly 100%.

Ecosystem service valuation of bays in East China Sea and its response to sea reclamation activities

Ecosystem service values(ESVs)of bays and their response to sea reclamation are of great practical importance for forming bay eco-compensation policy and extension of blue economic *** on land use information of bays collected during the period of 1990–2015,the spatiotemporal evolution of ESVs of 12 main bays in East China Sea and their response to sea reclamation activities over the past 25 years were quantitatively *** analysis results indicate that ESVs of bays in East China Sea showed a continuous downward trend and the whole ecosystem was continuously degraded,in which the degradation degree of ESV in the southern bays was higher than that in the northern *** zoning of ESVs of bays in East China Sea was remarkable,showing a continuous downward trend from low-value to high-value *** variation of ESVs of each bay was also significant,expanding from a city and from inland to the coast,which suggests that human activities,mainly reclamation,have become main agents for ESV evolution of bays in East China *** of bays have a significant response to sea reclamation,manifested as a significant negative correlation between ESV and reclamation *** correlation in the southern bays was stronger than that in the northern bays,which was caused by different effects of sea reclamation modes on ESV evolution of muddy and bedrock bays.A negative effect of sea reclamation activities on bay ecosystem was ***,an attention should be paid to dynamic monitoring and early warning of development status in offshore areas,ecosystem-level reclamation control policy,and coastal wetland reserves ***,the spatial coupling mechanism study between bay ecosystem service demand and its service supply capacity should be strengthened to realize systematic regulation of bay ecological security pattern.

A computed tomography-based radiomic model for the prediction of strangulation risk in patients with acute intestinal obstruction

Background We created and validated a computed tomography(CT)-based radiomic model using both clinical factors and the radiomic signature for assessing the strangulation risk of acute intestinal *** would assist surgeons in accurately predicting intestinal ischemia and strangulation in patients with intestinal *** We recruited 289 patients with acute intestinal obstruction admitted in the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from January 2019 to February *** patients were allocated to a training(n=226)and validation cohort(n=63).Radiomic features were collected from CT images,and the radiomic signature was extracted and used to calculate a radiomic score(Rad-score).A nomogram was constructed using the clinical features and the Rad-score,and the performance of the clinical,radiomics,and nomogram models was assessed in the two *** Six robust features were used to construct the radiomic *** nomogram incorporating hemoglobin levels,C-reactive protein levels,American Society of Anesthesiologists score,time of obstruction,CT image of mesenteric fluid(P<0.05),and the signature demonstrated good predictive ability for intestinal ischemia in patients with acute intestinal obstruction,with areas under the curve of 0.892(95%confidence interval,0.837–0.947)and 0.781(95%confidence interval,0.619–0.944)for the training and validation sets,*** decision curve analysis showed that this model outperformed the clinical and radiomic signature *** The radiomic nomogram may effectively predict intestinal ischemia in patients with acute intestinal disease and may assist clinical decision-making。

Isolation and Identification of Alkali-Resistant 1,3-Propanediol Producing Strain

1,3-Propanediol is a promising renewable resource produced by microbial production. It is mainly used in many synthetic reactions, particularly applied to the polymer synthesis and cosmetics industry. We described here the isolation of strain ZH-1, which has the ability of high production with 1,3-propanediol, from Fenhe River in China. It was classified as a member of K. pneumoniae after the study of phenotypic, physio-logical, biochemical and phylogenetic (16S rDNA). The initial glycerol concentration, fermentation time and pH value of strain ZH-1 were determined to be 50 g·L-1, 36 h and 8.0. Under these conditions, the practical yield of 1,3-PD was 18.53 g·L-1 and a molar yield (mol1,3-PD molGlycerol-1 of 1,3-propanediol to glycerol of 0.497. In addition, we found that for the strain ZH-1, the optimum grown pH was 9.0, so we can deter-mine that it is a new member of alkali-resistant strains.
