Anti-icing coatings on outdoor infrastructures inevitably suffer from mechanical injuries in numerous icing scenarios such as hailstorms,sandstorms,impacts of foreign objects,and icing–deicing cycles.Herein,the mechanisms of surface-defect-induced icing are clarified.At the defects,water molecules exhibit stronger adsorption and the heat transfer rate increases,accelerating the condensation of water vapor as well as ice nucleation and propagation.Moreover,the ice–defect interlocking structure increases the ice adhesion strength.Thus,a self-healing(at−20℃)antifreeze-protein(AFP)-inspired anti-icing coating is developed.The coating is based on a design that mimics the ice-binding and non-ice-binding sites in AFPs.It enables the coating to markedly inhibit ice nucleation(nucleation temperatureling anti-icing coating for outdoor infrastructures.

Objective:To analyze the feasibility of adopting a combined ladder and case teaching method in otolaryngology nursing teaching.Method:Nursing students in the otolaryngology department were selected.According to the admission time of nursing students,30 nursing students formed a control group(conventional nursing teaching),and 30 nursing students who were admitted later formed an observation group(ladder and case teaching method).The learning performance and teaching effectiveness of nursing students under different teaching methods were analyzed.Result:The academic performance and teaching effectiveness of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of the ladder and case teaching method during the teaching of otolaryngology nursing significantly improved the student’s academic performance and teaching effectiveness.This method has great practical value.

Metal-free defective carbon materials with abundant active sites have been widely studied as low-cost and efficient oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts in metal-air batteries.However,the active sites in defective carbon are easily subjected to serious oxidation or hydroxylation during ORR or storage,leading to rapid degradation of activity.Herein,we design a van der Waals heterostructure comprised of vitamin C(VC)and defective carbon(DC)to not only boost the activity but also enhance the durability and storage stability of the DC-VC electrocatalyst.The formation of VC van der Waals between DC and VC is demonstrated to be an effective strategy to protect the defect active sites from oxidation and hydroxylation degradation,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical durability and storage anti-aging performance.Moreover,the DC-VC van der Waals can reduce the reaction energy barrier to facilitate the ORR.These findings are also confirmed by operando Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations.It is necessary to mention that the preparation of this DC-VC electrocatalyst can be scaled up,and the ORR performance of the largely produced electrocatalyst is demonstrated to be very consistent.Furthermore,the DC-VC-based aluminum-air batteries display very competitive power density with good performance maintenance.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV)is a major economically devastating pathogen that has evolved various strategies to evade innate immunity.Downregulation of antiviral interferon largely promotes PRRSV immunoevasion by utilizing cytoplasmic melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5(MDA5),a receptor that senses viral RNA.In this study,the downregulated transcription and expression levels of porcine MDA5 in PRRSV infection were observed,and the detailed mechanisms were explored.We found that the interaction between P62 and MDA5 is enhanced due to two factors:the phosphorylation modification of the autophagic receptor P62 by the upregulated kinase CK2αand the K63 ubiquitination of porcine MDA5 catalyzed by the E3 ubiquitinase TRIM21 in PRRSV-infected cells.As a result of these modifications,the classic P62-mediated autophagy is triggered.Additionally,porcine MDA5 interacts with the chaperonin containing TCP1 subunit 2(CCT2),which is enhanced by PRRSV nsp3.This interaction promotes the aggregate formation and autophagic clearance of MDA5-CCT2-nsp3 independently of ubiquitination.In summary,enhanced MDA5 degradation occurs in PRRSV infection via two autophagic pathways:the binding of MDA5 with the autophagy receptor P62 and the aggrephagy receptor CCT2,leading to intense innate immune suppression.The research reveals a novel mechanism of immune evasion in PRRSV infection and provides fundamental insights for the development of new vaccines or therapeutic strategies.

All-dielectric terahertz metasurface governed by bound states in the continuum with high-Q factor

The method of terahertz(THz)resonance with a high-quality(high-Q)factor offers a vital physical mechanism for metasurface sensors and other high-Q factor applications.However,it is challenging to excite the resonance with a high-Q factor in metasurfaces with proper sensitivity as well as figure of merit(FOM)values.Here,an all-dielectric metasurface composed of two asymmetrical rectangular blocks is suggested.Quartz and silicon are the materials applied for the substrate and cuboids respectively.The distinct resonance governed by bound states in the continuum(BIC)is excited by forming an asymmetric cluster by a novel hybrid method of cutting and moving the cuboids.The investigation focuses on analyzing the transmission spectra of the metasurface under different variations in structural parameters and the loss of silicon refractive index.When the proposed defective metasurface serves as a transmittance sensor,it shows a Q factor of 1.08×10^(4)and achieves an FOM up to 4.8×10^(6),which is obtained under the asymmetric parameter equalling 1μm.Simultaneously,the proposed defective metasurface is sensitive to small changes in refractive index.When the thickness of the analyte is 180μm,the sensitivity reaches a maximum value of 578 GHz/RIU.Hence,the proposed defective metasurface exhibits an extensive number of possible applications in the filters,biomedical diagnosis,security screening,and so on.

Model checking is an automated formal verification method to verify whether epistemic multi-agent systems adhere to property specifications.Although there is an extensive literature on qualitative properties such as safety and liveness,there is still a lack of quantitative and uncertain property verifications for these systems.In uncertain environments,agents must make judicious decisions based on subjective epistemic.To verify epistemic and measurable properties in multi-agent systems,this paper extends fuzzy computation tree logic by introducing epistemic modalities and proposing a new Fuzzy Computation Tree Logic of Knowledge(FCTLK).We represent fuzzy multi-agent systems as distributed knowledge bases with fuzzy epistemic interpreted systems.In addition,we provide a transformation algorithm from fuzzy epistemic interpreted systems to fuzzy Kripke structures,as well as transformation rules from FCTLK formulas to Fuzzy Computation Tree Logic(FCTL)formulas.Accordingly,we transform the FCTLK model checking problem into the FCTL model checking.This enables the verification of FCTLK formulas by using the fuzzy model checking algorithm of FCTL without additional computational overheads.Finally,we present correctness proofs and complexity analyses of the proposed algorithms.Additionally,we further illustrate the practical application of our approach through an example of a train control system.

The development of non-platinum group metal(non-PGM)and efficient multifunctional electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)with high activity and stability remains a great challenge.Herein,by in-situ transforming silver manganese composite oxide heterointerface into boosted Mott-Schottky heterointerface through a facile carbon reduction strategy,a nanorod-like silver/manganese oxide with superior multifunctional catalytic activities for ORR,OER and HER and stability was obtained.The nanorod-like silver/manganese oxide with Mott-Schottky heterointerface(designated as Ag/Mn_(3)O_(4))exhibits an ORR half-wave potential of 0.831 V(vs.RHE)in 0.1 M KOH,an OER overpotential of 338 mV and a HER overpotential of 177 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH,contributing to its noble-metal benchmarks comparable performance in aqueous aluminum-air(Al-air)battery and laboratorial overall water splitting electrolytic cell.Moreover,in-situ electrochemical Raman and synchrotron radiation spectroscopic measurements were conducted to further illustrate the catalytic mechanism of Ag/Mn_(3)O_(4)Mott-Schottky heterointerface towards various electrocatalytic reactions.At the heterointerface,the Ag phase serves as the electron donor and the active phase for ORR and HER,while the Mn_(3)O_(4)phase serves as the electron acceptor and the active phase for OER,respectively.This work deepens the understanding of the Mott-Schottky effect on electrocatalysis and fills in the gap in fundamental physical principles that are behind measured electrocatalytic activity,which offers substantial implications for the rational design of cost-effective multifunctional electrocatalysts with Mott-Schottky effect.

Microstructure Characteristics and Elevated Temperature Mechanical Properties of a B Containedβ-solidifiedγ-TiAl Alloy

The improved microstructure and enhanced elevated temperature mechanical properties of Ti-44Al-5Nb-(Mo,V,B)alloys were obtained by vacuum arc re-melting(VAR)and primary annealing heat treatment(HT)of 1260℃/6 h/Furnace cooling(FC).The phase transformation,microstructure evolution and tensile properties for as-cast and HTed alloys were investigated.Results indicate that three main phase transformation points are determined,T_(eut)=1164.3℃,T_(γsolv)=1268.3℃and T_(βtrans)=1382.8℃.There are coarse lamellar colonies(300μm in length)and neighbor reticular B2 andγgrain(3-5μm)in as-cast alloy,while lamellar colonies are markedly refined and multi-oriented(20-50μm)as well as the volume fraction and grain sizes of equiaxedγand B2 phases(about 15μm)significantly increase in as-HTed alloy.Phase transformations involvingα+γ→α+γ+β/B2 and discontinuousγcoarsening contribute to the above characteristics.Borides(1-3μm)act as nucleation sites forβ_(eutectic) and produce massiveβgrains with different orientations,thus effectively refining the lamellar colonies and forming homogeneous multi-phase microstructure.Tensile curves show both the alloys exhibit suitable performance at 800℃.As-cast alloy shows a higher ultimate tensile stress of 647 MPa,while a better total elongation of more than 41%is obtained for as-HTed alloy.The mechanical properties improvement is mainly attributed to fine,multi-oriented lamellar colonies,coordinated deformation of homogeneous multi-phase microstructure and borides within lamellar interface preventing crack propagation.

Aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3))ceramics have been widely utilized as circuit substrates owing to their exceptional performance.In this study,boron nitride microribbon(BNMR)/Al_(2)O_(3)composite ceramics are prepared using spark plasma sintering(SPS).This study examines the effect of varying the amount of toughened phase BNMR on the density,mechanical properties,dielectric constant,and thermal conductivity of BNMR/Al_(2)O_(3)composite ceramics while also exploring the mechanisms behind the toughening and increased thermal conductivity of the fabricated ceramics.The results showed that for a BNMR content of 5 wt%,BNMR/Al_(2)O_(3)composite ceramics displayed more enhanced characteristics than pure Al_(2)O_(3)ceramics.In particular,the relative density,hardness,fracture toughness,and bending strength were 99.95%±0.025%,34.11±1.5 GPa,5.42±0.21 MPa·m1/2,and 375±2.5 MPa,respectively.These values represent increases of 0.76%,70%,35%,and 25%,respectively,compared with the corresponding values for pure Al_(2)O_(3)ceramics.Furthermore,during the SPS process,BNMRs are subjected to high temperatures and pressures,resulting in the bending and deformation of the Al_(2)O_(3)matrix;this leads to the formation of special thermal pathways within it.The dielectric constant of the composite ceramics decreased by 25.6%,whereas the thermal conductivity increased by 45.6%compared with that of the pure Al_(2)O_(3)ceramics.The results of this study provide valuable insights into ways of enhancing the performance of Al_(2)O_(3)-based ceramic substrates by incorporating novel BNMRs as a second phase.These improvements are significant for potential applications in circuit substrates and related fields that require high-performance materials with improved mechanical properties and thermal conductivities.
