A surface engineering strategy for the stabilization of zinc metal anodes with montmorillonite layers toward long-life rechargeable aqueous zinc ion batteries

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries （AZIBs） ex.ibit appreciable potential in the domain of electrochemical energy ***,there are serious challenges for AZIBs,for instance zinc dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）,and corrosion side ***,we propose a surface engineering modification strategy for coating the montmorillonite （MMT） layer onto the surface of the Zn anode to tackle these issues,thereby achieving high cycling stability for rechargeable *** results reveal that the MMT layer on the surface of the Zn anode is able to provide ordered zincophilic channels for zinc ions migration,facilitating the reaction kinetics of zinc *** functional theory（DFT） calculations and water contact angle （CA） tests prove that MMT@Zn anode ex.ibits superior adsorption capacity for Zn2+and better hydrophobicity than the bare Zn anode,thereby achieving ex.ellent cycling ***,the MMT@Zn||MMT@Zn symmetric cell holds the stable cycling over 5600 h at 0.5 mA cm-2and 0.125 m A h cm-2,even ex.eeding 1800 h long cycling under harsh conditions of 5 m A cm-2and 1.25 m A h *** MMT@Zn||V2O5full cell reaches over 3000 cycles at 2 A g-1with ex.ellent rate ***,this surface engineering modification strategy for enhancing the electrochemical performance of AZIBs represents a promising application.

We introduce the notion of measurable n-sensitivity for measure preserving systems,and study the relation between measurable n-sensitivity and the max.mal pattern *** prove that,if(x.ℬ,μ,T)is ergodic,then(x.ℬ,μ,T)is measurable n-sensitive but not measurable(n+1)-sensitive if and only if h_(μ)^(*)(T)=log n,where h_(μ)^(*)(T)is the max.mal pattern entropy of T.

Study on thermal wave based on the thermal mass theory

The conservation equations for heat conduction are established based on the concept of thermal *** obtain a general heat conduction law which takes into account the spatial and temporal inertia of thermal *** general law introduces a damped thermal wave *** reduces to the well-known CV model when the spatial inertia of heat flux.and temperature and the temporal inertia of temperature are neglected,which indicates that the CV model only considers the temporal inertia of heat *** simulations on the propagation and superposition of thermal waves show that for small thermal perturbation the CV model agrees with the thermal wave equation based on the thermal mass *** larger thermal perturbation,however,the physically impossible phenomenon pre-dicted by CV model,*** negative temperature induced by the thermal wave superposition,is eliminated by the general heat conduction law,which demonstrates that the present heat conduction law based on the thermal mass theory is more reasonable.

Strigolactones （SLs） are a very special class of plant hormones, which act as endogenous signals to regulate shoot branching in plants, and also serve as rhizosphere signals to regulate interactions of host plants with heterologous organisms such as symbiotic arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and parasitic weeds. In this short review, we give a brief description of novel discoveries in SL biosynthesis pathway, and mainly summarize the recent advances in SL perceotion and signal transduction.

The simultaneous removal of ammonium and manganese from surface water by MeO_x.Side effect of ammonium presence on manganese removal

Manganese and ammonium pollution in surface water sources has become a serious *** this study, a pilot-scale filtration system was used to investigate the effect of ammonium on manganese removal during the simultaneous removal of ammonium and manganese from surface water using a manganese co-ox.de filter film(MeO_x.). The results showed that the manganese removal efficiency of MeO_x.in the absence of ammonium was high and stable, and the removal efficiency could reach 70% even at 5.5 °C. When the influent ammonium concentration was lower than 0.7 mg/L, ammonium and manganese could be removed simultaneously. However, at an ammonium concentration of 1.5 mg/L, the manganese removal efficiency of the filter gradually decreased with time(from 96% to 46.20%). Nevertheless, there was no impact of manganese on ammonium removal. The mechanism by which ammonium negatively affected manganese removal was investigated, demonstrating that ammonium affected manganese removal mainly through two possible mechanisms. On one hand, the decreased p H caused by ammonium ox.dation was unfavorable for the ox.dation of manganese by MeO_x.; on the other hand, the presence of ammonium slowed the growth of new MeO_x.and retarded the increase in the specific surface area of the Me Ox.coated sand, and induced changes in the morphology and crystal structure of Me Ox. Consequently, the manganese removal efficiency of the filter decreased when ammonium was present in the inlet water.

Single-phase Computational Fluid Dynamics Applicability for the Study of Three-dimensional Flow in 5×5 Rod Bundles with Spacer Grids

Spacer grids play an important role in pressurized water reactor（PWR） fuel assembly in that they have significant influence on the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the reactor *** so far,the numerical studies are performed without regarding dimple and spring of spacer grids,just considering mix.ng ***,these studies use k-ε turbulence model without considering the suitability of the other turbulence models upon the different spacer grids flow.A study is carried out to understand the 3-D single-phase flow in AFA-2G 5×5 rod bundles with spacer grids based on numerical *** order to investigate the suitability of different turbulence models,k-ε model and k-ω model,the influence of different parts of spacer grid on the fluid flow is also *** using second-order upwind scheme,hybrid grids technique,and improved SIMPLEC algorithm,the Reynolds averaged mass conservation and momentum conservation equations are solved,and the pressure and velocity field of flow are *** numerical simulation results are compared with ex.eriment results and the agreement is *** simulation results show the influences of the spring,dimple and mix.ng vane,and the different characteristics of the k-ε model and k-ω *** with the ex.eriment results,the simulation results suggest that the k-ω model is suitable for the simulation of the rod bundle flow with spacer grids;the spring and dimple are the main causes of the pressure loss in the spacer grid *** friction coefficient of the channel with spring and dimple is 1.5 times the coefficient of the channel with the *** results are beneficial to enhance the simulation ability of spacer grids flow and optimization design ability of spaces grid.

Shaking table tests and dynamic analyses of masonry wall buildings with frame-shear walls at lower stories

This paper describes shaking table tests of three eight-story building models： all are masonry structures in the upper stories, with or without frame-shear walls of one- or two- stories at the bottom. The test results of damage characteristics and seismic responses are provided and compared. Then, nonlinear response analyses are conducted to ex.mine the reliability of the dynamic analysis. Finally, many nonlinear response analyses are performed and it is concluded that for relatively hard sites under a certain lateral stiffness ratio （i.e., the ratio of the stiffness of the lowest upper masonry story to that of the frame- shear wall story）, the masonry structure with one-story frame-shear wall at the bottom performs better than a structure built entirely of masonry, and a masonry structure with frame-shear wall of two stories performs better than with one-story frame- shear wall. In relatively soft soil conditions, all three structures have similar performane. In addition, some suggestions that could be helpful for design of masonry structures with ground story of frame-shear wall structure in seismic intensity region VII, such as the appropriate lateral stiffness ratio, shear force increase factor of the frame-shear wall story, and permissible max.mum height of the building, are proposed.

On proactive eavesdropping using anti-relay-selection jamming in multi-relay communication systems

This paper considers a multi-relay legitimate surveillance system, where a suspicious link may transmit illegal information with the help of relays and a legitimate monitor aims at intercepting the information. We assume that the relay selection method is adopted by the suspicious link to improve the efficiency of the information transmission. We propose anti-relay-selection(ARS) jamming strategies for two different information transmission scenarios, namely the event-based information and content-based information. Beamforming vector of jamming is optimized and the iterative algorithms are used to improve the jamming efficiency. We demonstrate the effectiveness and the superiority of the ARS jamming strategies through numerical results and simulations.

Weeping is an adverse phenomenon which results in higher pressure drop and poorer aeration *** ex.eriments have been conducted to study the mechanism by which weeping impairs the work performance of multi-orifice plate.A theoretical model is improved to analyze the weeping phenomenon of multiorifice plate based on potential flow *** relations of different bubbling conditions and weeping rate are *** condition and average weeping rate have relation with the driven pressure differential and dynamic variation of gas chamber *** addition,a set of ex.eriments are designed to study the influence of various factors on weeping *** bubble coalescence during bubble formation is a fatal factor determining weeping rate,so the relation between weeping rate and gas flow rate is concerned with the pitch of orifices and orifice *** is a critical plate thickness which is in favor of weeping.
