Epimedin b(Eb)is one of the main flavonoid ingredients present in Epimedium brevicornum Maxim.,a traditional herb widely used in *** previous study showed that Eb was a stronger inducer of melanogenesis and an activator of tyrosinase(TYR).However,the role of Eb in melanogenesis and the mechanism underlying the regulation remain ***,as an extension to our previous investigation,we provide comprehensive evidence of Eb-induced pigmentation in vivo and in vitro and elucidate the melanogenesis mechanism by assessing its effects on the TYR family of proteins(TYRs)in terms of expression,activity,and *** results showed that Eb increased TYRs expression through microphthalmia-associated transcription factor-mediated p-Akt(referred to as protein kinase b(PKb))/glycogen synthase kinase 3β(GSK3β)/β-catenin,p-p70 S6 kinase cascades,and protein 38(p38)/mitogen-activated protein(MAP)kinase(MAPK)and extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK)/MAPK pathways,after which Eb increased the number of melanosomes and promoted their maturation for melanogenesis in melanoma cells and human primary melanocytes/skin ***,Eb exerted repigmentation by stimulating TYR activity in hydroquinone-and N-phenylthiourea-induced TYR inhibitive models,including melanoma cells,zebrafish,and ***,Eb ameliorated monobenzone-induced depigmentation in vitro and in vivo through the enhancement of TYRs stability by inhibiting TYR misfolding,TYR-related protein 1 formation,and retention in the endoplasmic reticulum and then by downregulating the ubiquitination and proteolysis *** data conclude that Eb can target TYRs and alter their expression,activity,and stability,thus stimulating their pigmentation function,which might provide a novel rational strategy for hypopigmentation treatment in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been considered as promising energy storage systems due to the merits of high energy density and low ***,the lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)diffusion and sluggish redox kinetics hamper the battery *** this work,low-bandgap indium oxide(In_(2)O_(3))with dense oxygen vacancies(In_(2)O_(3−x),0bon column(NC)is developed as a desirable LiPSs immobilizer and promoter to address these intractable *** NC confined In_(2)O_(3−x)with rich O vacancies(In_(2)O_(3−x)@NC)lowers the bandgap of 1.78 eV,strengthens the chemical adsorbability to LiPSs,and catalyzes the bidirectional Li_(2)S *** to the structural and chemical cooperativities,the obtained sulfur electrodes exhibit a stable cycling over 550 cycles at 1.0 C and splendid rate capability up to 4.0 *** significantly,when the sulfur-loading reaches as high as 5.5 mg·cm^(−2),the cathodes achieve an areal capacity of 5.12 mAh·cm^(−2)at 0.1 *** strategy of NC confined catalyst with rich defects engineering demonstrates great promise in the development of practical Li-S batteries.

The quantum hydrodynamic model for electrons and ions and the generalized hydrodynamic model for the strongly coupled dust particles are proposed in the strongly coupled quantum dusty plasma, where the combined quantum effects of quantum diffraction, quantum statistic pressure,as well as electron exchange and correlation effects are all considered in the quantum hydrodynamic model. The shear and bulk viscosity effects are included in the viscoelastic relaxation, which leads to the decay of the dust-ion-acoustic waves. The approximate time-dependent solitary solution is obtained by the momentum conservation law in the presence of viscosity.

Metal nanomaterials can facilitate microbial extracellular electron transfer(EET)in the electrochemically active ***,the role of nanomaterials/bacteria interaction in this process is still ***,we reported the single-cell voltammetric imaging of Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 at the single-cell level to elucidate the metal-enhanced EET mechanism in vivo by the Fermi level-responsive graphene *** oxidation currents of~20 fA were observed from single native cells and gold nanoparticle(AuNP)-coated cells in linear sweep voltammetry *** the contrary,the oxidation potential was reduced by up to 100 mV after AuNP *** revealed the mechanism of AuNP-catalyzed direct EET decreasing the oxidation barrier between the outer memb.ane cytochromes and the *** method offered a promising strategy to understand the nanomaterials/bacteria interaction and guide the rational construction of EET-related microbial fuel cells.
